Frans Steyn, ex bok, currently the Cheetahs director of rugby, is begging SA rugby to let him enter the Cheetahs into Super rugby
@SamizouzaАй бұрын
Read about it in the news, he's very keen too even if it includes the Griquas and Pumas with the "main four" up in Europe. He's got 3 years to do it albeit the Kings revival would be great also along with the Jaguares booked for 2026.

Calling this 'The TRC...' is a sad case of Redundant Acronym Syndrome, meaning that you are essentially calling it 'The The Rugby Championship...'. Just my 2 Cents. Apologies, I got distracted there; I came here to congratulate you guys on another great episode. Keep it up.

I think Tony is right about what will happen with the South African teams and the URC. Having followed American college sports, we have seen crazy new conferences being created due to television money. If there is a new television deal that pays the Irish, Welsh, and Scots tons of money for a new league combined with the crazy travel they have to deal with, I see it happening.

Theglimmer of hope I see for the Aussies is that Schmidt may have an insight into the ABss having recently been part of the setup there (albeit under a different head coach). Also, when he took over Ireland, our first game under him against the ABs was very close and came down to a Ryan Crotty penalty. So maybe it could be closer than is predicted!

@@matthewvanrensburg3824 Why exactly, they're already doing it to be able to play in the challenge cup. At least possibly getting a home stadium in Perth or the likes will see a ton of expats go out to support them and cancel out the biggest issue with the old Super Rugby format
@matthewvanrensburg3824Ай бұрын
Unlike Champions Cup, the Cheetahs will be out of sync with their fans wrt timezone. Where is the value to the Cheetahs fans here and by association, actual value to Cheetahs. Who's gonna pay money for those tv rights? Champions Cup arrangement also comes with medium/longterm goal that home games are going to move back to South Africa in the future. Timezones. Its not simply a matter of travel, its a matter of product quality, and timezones means Cheetahs in SR will be a non-SA product almost entirely.

Jordan 14.Rieko 13.ALB 12.Jordie 11.Talea 10.Barret 9.Roigard As a bok fan every time I see Dmac at 10 I'm not worried - on the bench yes but not starting 10 Same with Sam Cane if his in the 23 I'm not worried- hard honest player but really nothing you can't handle.
