I can't say I agree with Jake's take. It's been 9 years since I lost my dad, and I still miss him every day, and I probably will until the day I die. Maybe I'm more emotionally attached to things than he is, but I just cannot agree.

Movie's told from the perspective of an old man - think the point is that the kid was admitting he wasn't that bad off.

I fucking loved this movie, although I admit this is a very polarizing movie.

I haven't seen it, but considering how much I liked Days of Heaven, I'll probably like it. At the least, I doubt that I'll have as negative a reaction as this.

Austin Devine why?

Randy White because I hate his style pretentious filmmaking and his gloomy artsy-fartsy style and his scripts are underwritten to the point were you don’t care about the story Tree of Life is a perfect example of this

@@austindevine248 Not all movies have to have a story. Tree of Life is more of an experience and how the images resonate with you.

@@hipsterelephant2660 if by “experience” you mean waste of time and brain cells then yeah I can agree with you on that

@@austindevine248 hey, you don't have to be a twat about it, I'm just explaining not all films are about the story.
