I'm British and always considered the word "skinny" to mean underweight and a somewhat negative adjective. It is only via the internet I have learned that Americans use the word to mean thin or slim (a desirable weight) and a positive adjective.

Yes skinny does mean underweight and has a negative connotation. Why she wants us to be this way is beyond me. She needs to stop using these click bait words.

Hi hun. I used to be skinny in my 20s and early 30s. I’ve gained a lot of weight and I’m soon to be 45. I look totally different. I don’t want to be skinny, I just want to lose some weight and concentrate on an healthier eating plan. ❤xxx

Emmie, I’ve been learning about the Starch Solution, by reading Dr. McDougall’s book + watching videos of you and others who follow this plan here on KZbin, and I wanted to say thank YOU 🙏🏼 I like the other channels and their recipes and tips, but I do appreciate you more because you always instill in others to get back to natural whole foods. You don’t sugar coat things, you manage to be wise yet fun, but you are firm and I admire so much you have those qualities even though you are very young. How can someone with ibs-c do s.o.s? Starch slows my motility more and veggies or beans give me terrible bloat and gas. Time doesn't help as ive focused on a whole food diet for 20 years with lots of veggies.

if you eat wfpb, and mostly SOS free, you really cant be overweight (: if you are considering trying, I definitely recommend! its very natural once you get the hang of it.

I did do it, diligently for a year. I lost five pounds. Neither my A1c or my cholesterol improved. So disappointing.

I needed to hear the last part so badly! I'm a tall woman (181 cm) and desperately wanted to be petite. I lost my period when I was below 68 kilos, which in my mind, still sounded like a lot and that I had to do better and be even smaller. Truthfully, I didn't get any slimmer because of my bone structure. It's still quite hard to accept but seeing it from this point of view is really helpful. X

I struggle with this as well :,) even after all the weight loss (and also losing my period lol!) I still feel huge. Something that helped was looking for more flattering clothes instead of trying to forcefully fit into things that just don’t look good on me because they weren’t made for me
