I've just returned to playing drums after a very long layoff. (30 years, lol). I determined I was going to start from scratch and focus on the areas I always struggled with, rudiments, hand control, dynamics, fills, etc. I absolutely love the way you teach, it's awesome. You don't just teach a trick or cool fill, you explain the foundation behind it in a clear, consice way. I can't believe the speed that I'm improving with from just watching your excellent videos. Thank you so much. I'm going to be loading up on your merchandise, you have great gear and I want to support what you do. I hope every drummer looking to improve finds your channel like I did.

Damn. That snare, tho... 🤤 Also, try this same groove, but lead with a double on the right and a single on the left. And start in the snare drum, alternating every double stroke between the snare and hi hats. Kind makes it feel backwards and half time.

remus blaque This triplet pattern is taken directly from one of the older Rob’s videos - something like “How to seriously improve your stick control” or something. He shows 5 excercises there, based on this very triplet pattern. Ever since I saw that video, those 5 excercises became my everyday warm-up routine.

Hello Rob Brown...I have been a subscriber now for some time and love your videos, teaching and insights, you have great dynamics and grooves. This video in particular caught my eye, thank you for taking something, what an advanced drummer would call simple and making it sound complex and yes turn singers' heads. I really like the sound of your snare and see you have hoops with the lugs....do you have an instructional video on snare tuning? Thanks!

I havent touched my kit in a while. I got a computer for daw and audacity and reaper. I need new rattles on my ludwig marchin snare. They nylons the individual tuners kind and the tuners are stuck. I would like metal rattles. When I seriously got a song to record ill put new heads. Man I tuned these and set em in the corner. You can step over by em a belt out a vocal and they harmon8ze.

Hey man, nice groove/fill, I really like it! Speaking of ghost notes - I played them like that (closer to the edge) all the time, until someone told me that I'm doing it the wrong way. I was told that these were ghost notes in principle, but that's not how they should be played. I've tried to get those ghosts to sound as nice as before (when I was doing it the "wrong" way), but they just didn't sounded good, so I "cheated". I tend to use ghost notes a lot in my grooves, but my grooves weren't that good when I played them "correctly".
