It works surprisingly well on Prokhorovka hill, people from town have a really hard time penetrating your side, while you overmatch the tops of the tanks coming up the hill

This tank in a nutshell: When in doubt, show your side and pray. To be honest I researched is7 like 2 weeks ago and this obj was a beast, has a problem with accuracy and can't hit shit while on the move but it's a true brawler with a good gun and as long as you stay in a straight line and don't angle your frontal armor, the enemy is stupid and you make them hit your side armor you can stomp games

@@danielfraiz74 Or you can just reverse sidescrape with it. I left so many people scratching their heads, when I did that. Most people know how to deal with sidescraping V shaped hull, but not a lot of people know about this tank's weak "forehead". If I'll ever struggle with bouncing missions, I'll buy this tank again and laugh all the way to the bank.

Whenever I play with this tank, I swear to God, in which ever angle I position myself, side scrape, going straight, reverse side scrape everything is auto bounce it's actually INSANE.....I rarely lose more than 500hp per game....The armor is so freaking trollish it is unreal....All I have to do is wiggle when they aim for me and boom, auto bounce... Perfect russian assault tank

@Children enthusiast No, there is way more satisfaction when you get 257 and it is a way better tank with way better gun. About tier 8 premium that I reccomend if you have 257, then it is worth to buy OBJ-703-2 :)

if you can keep your lower plate protected, just face directly at the enemy, sidescarping from the front will flatten the pike nose... reverse sidescraping (generally is on most tanks with the turret mounted on the front of the hull) used to be very effective in the is4, not played much russian heavies in years though..

I was grinding to get the IS7 and had seen this review of Obj 257. I thought Skil said it was a mediocre tank and at first that was my mindset. But 300 games later 56% winrate, 34% survival rate and somehow I click with this tank. I think one of the advantages is that everyone wants to concentrate on the tier 10 meta tank. There is no glory in killing the 257. I have a couple 100 games in the IS7 and have a 50% winrate but it is only because I got into a less aggressive mode from 257.

you can use this to piss of your enemy: use explosive ammo when they are capping cuz to take away their score you needd to do dmg and you have 100% chance to do dmg

Remember the days when you had to deal with T95, IS-7 and Maus without gold ammo? It somehow worked, even when facing those tanks frontally. It feels as though the skill to do just that has been lost to most players. Pressing the "2" key is just so much simpler...

Agree, I never ever shoot gold rounds, it's much more rewarding to outplay an enemy with skill rather than pressing the 2 key and making armor completely irrelevant. That's why I only play fast and lightly armored tanks, as armor is useless when everyone just spamming gold. If they would nerf gold ammo, by half the damage, it would be a lot better.

The T95 has cupolas that are supposed to balance its armor. I understand why people choose HEAT, but it's unbalanced to an extent because the higher penetration has no trade-off. Thanks for uploading! :)

T95 cupolas are super trollish, their hurtbox is only in the dead center and ramps up to 300 near the edges making gold useless anyways. Also HEAT does have downsides such as slower shell velocity and being absolute garbage at penning spaced armor - you can't track and do damage at the same time with heat.

10:50 NO! That's called a bug. HEAT should not cause damage there. The prog was spamming HEAT. AP would have near 50% chance to penetrate that exact area but the prog used HEAT.. YOu should know that. But this is the exact same reason why you can hear in the game "we didn't penetrate their armor" when you're hitting something with 15mms of armor while you're using something that could penetrate 20 times the amount of armor. This is called a bug. In other games you may even get rewarded to help the developers to do against the bugs, to reveal them. I did it a number of times. YEARS AGO! For example, I'm a very top player with the T95, I do not play it as the tank can be penetrated 1/1, all the time due to this bug. AND NO. It's not the lower plate, nor the cupolas. You have no idea how many people are abusing it.. Sites that show where a tank can be penetrated state that you won't get penetrated, but you will get penetrated every single time.. And I sent a detailed list of these places where HEAT (and only HEAT) can abuse these hitbox problems and every single bug is still there! They don't give a damn.. (Also stop calling it "GOLD". It's free. You can't purchase it for gold. You buy it with credits. You can run every single tank in the game using only that type of ammo and it would not cost you anything but credits. + you all act like the "premium" rounds give you an advantage. It depends on the situation what would work the best. You have no idea how often you spam APCR or HEAT when you could do more with HE. Or vice versa. You spam HESH or HE when for that 500-600 dmg when you could do 1000 with AP.. This is the reason why people don't realize how arty was and still fine. You may not get hit once in 10 battles but if it hits just once out of those 10 battles you forget you had 9 battles before without receiving a single shot from an arty. An arty focusing only on you in the entire battle could be annoying, no doubt, but more often you're locked down and you get killed by a regular tank because you can't do anything about it. And this happens more often with everyone. You just don't realize that.)

Gold ammo and arty is the reason I only play lightly armored and fast tanks. Arty doesn't care about armor and everyone spamming full gold, so armor is also irrelevant. They should really nerf gold ammo damage by half. So people would have to make a decision. 90% of the "unicums" however will either stop playing (damn, we need to aim? What is that?) or complain. 🙂
