The troubled MBTA Silver Line

MBTA run a weird, half BRT and half not brt system through east boston. today, we will ride that system and talk about it! Join me as we ride MBTA's silver line from Boston's south station to the airport!

Good explanation of the Silver Line to Logan! The implementation of the Silver Line I think was a huge fiasco. The section from Boylston to -Dudley- Nubian Square was supposed to have been light rail and the section to the Airport imo should have been built as a light metro. (If you've been to Vancouver you'd know what a light metro is.) Instead the Feds pushed and the Commonwealth settled for bus "rapid transit". This country is still not serious about transportation other than cars and highways. 😠 And removing the overhead catenary for battery electric busses I think is penny wise and pound foolish. The way the T operates and maintain its vehicles there surely will be a BEB fire... maybe one that would consume several busses due to the battery fires' ease of spreading and difficulty in putting out.

glad you are enjoying them! it’s sad that NC don’t have more trains and transit (i was actually considering moving to charlotte for a but but their transit situation is 😬😬😬), but that one state sponsored amtrak route is cool (the carolinian i think it’s called?), i hope you guys can get more good transit down there!!🙏🙏

@@arsenicCatnip413 Yes, the Carolinian is very cool, it actually goes right through my town of Lexington. They are planning a new Amtrak station soon.

how do i pay once i get on? does it take cash or do i have to buy a charlie card? is this the one i take to the cruiseport or is there a closer one? does it make announcements or do i have to know which stop im at?

if you get on in south station or world trade centre or courthouse, you pay at the faregates in the station. if you get on anywhere else you just tap in as you would for a tram or normal bus
