Good Morning, Another great video. I know I've said this many times on your channel but I started in trucking in 96', just to provide others others with my perspective. I agree that a majority of theft in our industry is an inside job, I believe the brokers are aware of who the bad actors are and are culpable in some instances as well. I don't know what the theft statistics were in 96' however we just didn't hear much if at all about stolen trailers, loads or trucks; hell I remember I would never I mean never lock my truck and we let our trucks idle for weeks at a time back in the early to mid 90's. Trucking is going through some really difficult times on all fronts and it is all self inflicted I believe. I run my own truck, trailer and numbers and during the pandemic I received emails from mega-carriers asking for available reefer trailers, not for transport but for storage. Most companies were offering anywhere from $800 per day to $1000 per day just for storage, now that trailers are relatively plentiful that is no longer the case. As a reminder to all, the money in trucking is not in the trucks, the money is in the trailers so who's really making money in trucking, the trailer rental companies; there's very little maintenance in trailers and sure you can have a truck but without a trailer the truck is useless. I would be interested to see the numbers regarding theft, I think when the investigations are completed and drivers are vetted after the fact we will see a correlation between them. I believe drivers are scared, frustrated and at wits end with our industry, this job/career is cruel the pay is not commensurate with the sacrifice, risk or reward and thus folks look for other means to help pay the bills, right wrong or otherwise. Our industry knows and understands all of what was discussed in this video but nothing will change and the decision makers will continue to turn their cheeks and look the other way, why? It comes down to dollars and cents and they understand if they make the qualifications more stringent to drive a truck this will cost them more money and drivers will earn a more commensurate wage. When you see videos on KZbin and trailers are being broken in to, do you really think this is random? There was a time no to long ago where trailers never had a seal on it. Stay safe

EDIT: covered wage theft at the very end. Well said. I think in the greater conversation of theft we can all agree that companies in general steal our time and resources as drivers. I drive for Walmart these days and I think the only fair compensation for live unload grocery delivery is hourly but Walmart lumps us in a big pool and pays mileage plus activity pay which reduces their cost yet really caps my ability to earn as we also don't dispatch based on location but as one giant pool out of a central dispatch location in Ohio. I run out of the highest volume walmart grocery DC in their system located in Pennsylvania. I definitely delivered there when I was with prime and still see lots of prime trucks in and out of our facility everyday.

Many reports of Apple air tags being inserted into high value cargo. The criminals track and follow the truck till the proper moment. There are no agencies targeting cargo trucking crime so there's no repercussions.

There all empty bags. They have nothing to lose. That’s why you usually see those hotshots getting inspected. Troopers are lazy. They don’t even pull those junk trucks around for inspection. You know as well as I do if they did there would be 10 a day sitting in those inspection stations. I swear they do hotshots and new trucks. Try to stay clean. It’s not just trucking. Go to cali and see all those pos rv’s setting in Malibu parked in front of multi million dollar homes living for free. Cops don’t do 💩. @@peakinb4382 This went south in a hurry. Either you haven’t spent time in Cali over the last 30 years or you have amnesia. And BTW, go to Florida, Texas, or just about anywhere you can think of, and you’re gonna see ramshackle RVs in public parking lots, truckstops, retail store parking lots and anywhere else they can park. Cali has the most homelessness in large part bc it’s the most populous state AND housing is enormously expensive. I was delivering to a Sam's Club store and another driver in a piece of scrap old Freightliner arrived at the same time. He wanted to ask me some questions about my company (Knight) after stating that his current "company"(plain white truck and trailer) delays payment for weeks at a time. Anyway I told him I average about 3000 miles per week and he made it seem like he thought that was nothing. Shortly after he said he drives 5000 miles per week. I didn't do the math but I said "You run 18 hours a day or what?", he replied "Yeah, basically."
