Also, the talmud itself accounts that the signs of purity and the presence of God in the holy of holies began to vanish some 40 years before the destruction of the temple, that is from the time of the crucifixion onwards. You will find this account in the talmud Yoma 39b.

Anytime you say "my interpretation" you are not trusting the word. Only the Church with the Holy Spirit thru the ecumenical councils can " interperate" anything. Doing it yourself leads to self delusion. Canon was closed long ago. There is no " hidden" meanings in the gospels. If there was, how would anyone ever know what is true.

Hello Fr Tryphon!! I really liked this short talk - I think you should do more content that frames modern Christianity in relation to the history of the old. Not enough priests dive into the background of the faith, and it's ENORMOUSLY important to the younger crowd who don't "get it", and simply don't read the history but would be happy to listen to it.

Said wonderfully! As a young boy I went through a rebellious phase, not wanting to be associated with the church because at the time my preacher couldn't answer questions I had. I went and studied many religions and sects. Every religion I could find I researched. Eventually, I returned to my parents' new church and that pastor guided me to the Bible and God for answers, not a denomination. And after further studies and further searching I stumbled upon Orthodox Christianity. And I feel my journey was my own Exodus from the worldly interpretations of the scripture to the homeland of the scripture. Much like the Israelites did in the past. I fulfilled my dream to visit Jerusalem few years ago and what an experience it was! I walked the ancient cobblestone pathway looking for signs and clues and i sure found it. Coptic churches as old as 700 years sitting quietly but proudly as the testament of time. Most tourists ignorantly walked by preoccupied by earthly things in souvenire shops and nobody would realize that these old Churches are all over Jersualem yet you can’t find even one Synagogue that is 100 years old or older. How is that possible? How did the Churches survive almost a thousand years even during the Ottoman rule and yet you can’t find any ancient traces of those who claim to be Jews today!? Does anybody have any explanation? I’d like to know.

@@redcolt777 its because Christ founded the Church and the Orthodox church is the fulfilment of the Second Temple Judaism. Everyone in the church (baptised in Christ) is part of the New Covenant. When Christ died on the cross, the veil in the temple was torn from the middle to signify that God has abandoned the Temple and the jews. We gather in church every Sunday snd at major feasts in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ just like He said in Matthew 18: 19-20 "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” I think its better to ask these questions to your local Orthodox priest in your closest parish or one at your choosing because they know better than I. Judaism after AD 70 isn't the same as the Second Temple and before. Orthodox Christianity is the continuation of that, the spiritual Israel. The warnings are for the Church of God where there is no Jew or Gentile anymore. The grafting in of the Gentiles was completed in AD 33 at Pentecost. So now there's just one People, not blood lines, just those who hold the Orthodox Faith, are baptized, Chrismated and commune of Christ. Everyone must come to Christ to be saved in the end.

The various denominations do not share the true Faith nor are they baptized, Chrismated or receive the Holy Eucharist. These things are essential, the normative way of becoming one with Christ's Body, the Church. In 2,000 years we've never believed in an invisible body with numerous different faiths that ignore some or all of the Holy Mysteries that infuse us with God's uncreated grace, that ignore much of the Faith handed down including Divine Services. One who does not have an Orthodox Parish nearby can still become Orthodox (or at the very least live as if such) and pray Reader Services. God is merciful after all.

Because people can exercise discernment. Ingenuous Jews are righteous in God's eyes. We should always love our neighbors as our brothers and not persecute people because we deign ourselves to be superior. Anyone that uses the facts spoken of in this video to set themselves up as higher than others, and to hate them/discriminate against them on that basis is sinning egregiously. It's a cheap non-sequitur and an insult to thinking people to act like all humans having access to God through Christ, and therefore being the new Israel (those who struggle with God) is somehow inexorably an exhortation to bigotry, hatred and violence.
