The True Origins of Modern Zionism | The Jewish Story | Unpacked

While the State of Israel is barely 75 years old, the origins of Zionism actually go back a lot further than one might think. In fact, Zionism was born at three distinct moments in history that all contributed to Zionism as the world knows it today.
The first story of Zionism dates back thousands of years ago starting with Abraham in biblical times. This paved the way for the modern movements of 200 years ago during the Enlightenment and 125 years ago when the first political Zionist movement was created.
Each of these occurrences shared the same dream for the Jewish people to be recognized as a sovereign nation in their homeland, Israel.

That’s a nice attempt, but history of Zionism should be discussed in a historical context not a religious one. While you can use the Bible as a citation, you can not allow it to define a secular school like Zionism. The truth of the matter is that the first sentiment for moving back to Zion happens during the Babylonian exile as bible can be used a citation that quotes “By the rivers of Babylon, we shall cry for Zion”- this is the birth of Zionism amongst the Jewish slaves. Cyrus the great was the first Zionist world leader who truly favored Jewish libration through allowing them to go back to Zion upon their request and build the second temple, he was not even Jewish, therefore purely Zionist in a secular sense.

History/ Biblical accounts & Geography, actually do define Judaism. Historically Zion, a hill belonging to the Israelites not the Jews at that time is the origin of that word, not to be confused with a movement. Biblically the word “Jew” (Jehudi) doesn’t even appear until 500 pages of the ancient text in ll kings. Finally, Geographically, After King Cyrus defeated the Babylonian army 50 years after the Israelites were banished, King Cyrus, who was no Zionist by any stretch of the imagination, needed to have more people come to Judea and inhabit the land. Why? It was desolate.That was the only way to collect tribute (Taxes) in 538 B.C. for his new Persian province of Yehud. In effect a good sales pitch to the Israelites to come back and make new friends . Businessman yes, Zionist? Hardly. So much more rich history about Zionism and Israel to discover and go beyond the blurred lines of history. It’s worth going down that rabbit to find the truth.

That is a real relationship. And God gave the land of Israel to Abraham Isaac and Jacob because He had said Jacob I love and Esau I hated and Jacob's 12 patriots decendants are in the land today Isaiah 45:17 the land belongs to the Jews forever. Which also means this is a world with no ending, the kingdom of Heaven will come for every one who believes. But the kingdom of God is for the church today for we are about to be caught up to meet the Lord in the clouds. We have a wonderful relationship with the Lord. Make no mistake religions don't work with the Amighty.
