You are incorrect you just have the children of Hagar fighting the children of Hagar . Those who believe in Jesus the Messiah are the children of Sarah we do not fight because we seek a heavenly Kingdom, Jesus said my kingdom is not of this world. Galatians 4:21-31 King James Version 21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? 22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

That's because it never happened. Jews got kicked out of their homeland, first by Babylonians, later by Romans. Seven centuries later, the people who now claim the Jews' homeland as "theirs" won a big military conquest and are insisting that all other military conquests are invalid. If you can win the real estate that way, so can we.

It didn't. In the video, she said it's a story from the Mishnah, which is a RABBINICAL commentary on the Talmud, which is a RABBINICAL commentary on the Tenach, which contains the Torah, where the story of the Patriarchs is found. The reason why the rabbis spread this lie is because the Mosaic Law was fulfilled by Yeshua (Jesus). Therefore, to keep their power, the rabbis lied about how Christianity began. In fact, in the beginning of The Faith, it wasn't called Christianity because Cristos is a GREEK word. It was simply referred to as The Way because Yeshua said, "I AM the way, the truth, and the life. No man approaches Adonai (the Father), but by Me." To this very day, rabbis have an overwhelming tendency to want to be that intermediary, that's why they continue to veil the truth about Yeshua, His sacrifice, and His resurrection. But the truth is there for anyone to see (Isaiah 53).

Thanks for your awesome video and it's great to wet some people appetite for seeing knowledge, however one key missing part of Jacob story and his children missing intentionally or strategy is concerning. 1) Leah and Her sister were his 2 wives, but he had 2 sons with Leah's maid and 2 with her sister's maid who are black, and you didn't mention the sister to make 13 children. Also, not many talk about fact Israel became a nation over 400 years in Egypt Africa and therefore are African and would be mixed with Egyptian who are black and not the invaders of Greek or Roman heritage we see there in past 2,000 years. One more thing, jews refers to 1 sons Judah and later another tribe joined to become known as jews, however house of Israel refers to other 10 tribes which were cursed to be enslaved and scattered around the world which we all know who were scattered as slaves worldwide.

A careful reading of Hosea tells us that the 10 tribes are "The House of Israel", while "The House of Judah" is the territory of Judah, Benjamin, Levites, etc., who were not taken by the Assyrians and eventually scattered out into the world. Subsequent writings refer to "The Whole House Of Israel" when talking about the entire 12/13 tribes at the same time. The House of Israel, or "Ephraim" (Hosea is ALL about the 10 tribes) are prophesied to eventually be brought to repentance and restoration with Elohim in the last days, and that His own hand will bring some back home to the restored nation - "one of a village and 2 of a family", as well. The Two Sticks of "Ephraim" and "Judah" will be (and I feel are being) united into one. I feel that it is the life, death and resurrection of that "Lamb of YHVH" - Yehoshua (Jesus) - represented to Abraham via the ram stuck in the bushes to provide the sacrifice in place of his son - who has made and is making all of this POSSIBLE, as He took all of our sin upon Himself and paid for it with His own blood. The most beautiful, deep and romantic story ever told &; > THANK YOU for such a beautiful telling and illustration of the story. Blessings.

Very helpful survey. Witty. I wondered however, how Esau became linked with fostering and adopting the formation of Christianity via the Roman Empire. What's the rabbinic tradition for this? Is it historically accurate? Thanks for your many helpful productions.

Here's what Noam Weissman, our educational director had to say: It's a great one. So much on this topic. 1. Rashi is actually incredibly important in terms of promulgating this idea, which is based on Bereishit rabba, 63:7. 2. The story is much deeper and more complicated. This article explains it all well -www.thetorah.com/article/esau-the-ancestor-of-rome 3. Overall gist though is that Eisav became synonymous with Edom, Edom was described in rabbinic tradition as Rome and Christianity became dominant religion there. 4. See here from Avigail Rock: "In a number of places, Rashi identifies Esav and Edom with Rome (that is, the Romans). The Jews of Europe in the Middle Ages would identify Rome with Christianity and the (Roman) Catholic Church; therefore, prophecies in the Bible which speak about Esav and Edom were understood by them as relating to Christianity, as were the references of the Sages to Esav, Edom, or Rome." See G.D. Cohen, “Esau as Symbol in Early Medieval Thought,” Alexander Altmann (ed.), Jewish Medieval and Renaissance Studies (Cambridge, 1967). See also the course offered by the Open University of Israel, “Bein Yehudim Le-Notzerim: Yehudim Ve-Notzerim Be-Ma’arav Europa ad Reishit Ha-Et Ha-Chadasha,” Prof. Ora Limor (1993-1997), Vol. I, pp. 9-15 in particular -www.openu.ac.il/courses/10275.htm

@@UNPACKED Thanks for taking the time to reply. I can understand, perhaps, how Esau may be linked with medieval 'Christianity' which was often a terrible and sad corruption of early original Christian teaching. A Christian document from not long after the start of the Christian movement, has this comment, an actual warning not to emulate or follow Esau ........................... "See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal. For you know that afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears." ............ I think this is a more historically accurate description of Esau - an influence and example to be avoided and accords fully with that given in the first book of the Torah.

It Rabbinic "anti-Christian" teaching. Judaism since the collating the Talmud, is well and truly Rabbinic Judaism ... and developed from the Pharisee sect of Judaism which Jesus was a Rabbi of, and who rejected him. Most religious Jews view Jesus as a false messiah and a Catholic god. Do the maths.

Good question cause when you ask somebody who is one they tell you they’re Jewish but when somebody asks anyone else what they are they give you a country. Obviously I’m German and I live in the States so I get asked quite often what I am? I think if I replied Catholic people would specify there question and think it was odd that I answered that way. However, if you’re Jewish that’s an acceptable answer? It’s a religion correct? Not a race or place of origin? It is a bit weird
@ShirleyAnnPetrillo-oj7sc
@ShirleyAnnPetrillo-oj7sc 11 ай бұрын
👆 It IS a bit weird. I remain a bit confused, because “Jewish” can mean: 1) Religious Jew 2) Genetic Jew (ethnicity/race) 3) Geographic Jew (location of ancestors) Therefore, IF someone tells me “I’m a Jew”, then I’ll ask questions.
@rheinhardtgrafvonthiesenha8185

@@ShirleyAnnPetrillo-oj7sc it’s a conundrum I e never been able to figure out and really want to know the answer to. But obviously nowadays you feel like you can’t ask these questions even if they’re out of genuine curiosity yanno. On the one hand I think it is used as a „catch all“ by most Jews and if I were Jewish I’d want to know my ancestry or ethnicity. After all being Jewish is a religion. There’s Russian Jews, Israeli Jews etc etc. Does saying you’re „Jewish“ imply that at some point your descendants came from one of the 12 tribes of Israel? I don’t know? The thing that further compounds it tho (which actually blows away my whole argument) is jews do have some basic shared physical characteristics. In other words it’s not that hard and you could reasonably guess with a fair bit of accuracy if somebody is a jew based on some physical characteristics. Which is not the case with other religions. So that would imply it is a race more so than a religion. IDK the answer but I wish somebody would explain it to me.

The Tanakh (Old Testament) gives us history, & specifically God’s historical relationship with us, His creation. God ensured that we would have a record of human history & an understanding of the redemptive plan He enacted after the ‘Fall’ in order to redeem us from eternal death because of sin (separation from Him). The historical record, two fold in nature, picture or foreshadow the prophesied Jewish Messiah; Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMashiach). In respect to this week's instalment: A. Abraham is a picture of "GOD" & Issac is a picture of "CHRIST". 1. Both Issac & Christ we're "CHILDREN OF PROMISE"- ( Abraham & Sarah waited 25 yrs; Israel waited centuries for the Messiah). 2. The birth of both we're "ANGELICALLY ANNOUNCED". 3. Both were "NAMED BEFORE THEIR BIRTH" (Issac-Gen 17:19, Christ-Isaiah 7:14). 4. The birth of both we're "MIRACULOUS" (Sarah was barren, Mary was a virgin). 5. Both are called an "ONLY SON"- (*Offered up by their loving fathers as sacrifices; Issac-Gen 22:2, Christ-John 3:16 ). 6. Both mocked & persecuted by their "OWN KINDRED" (Issac by Ishmael, Christ by the Jews). 7. Neither Isaac nor Christ had "BROKEN THE LAW" that they should be offered up. 8. As Isaac carried the wood on which he was to die, so Christ carried His "OWN CROSS"- (Abraham & Isaac’s journey was a grieving 3 days to Mt. Moriah, Jesus was 3 days in the grave). 9. As Isaac went willingly to the "altar," so Christ went willingly to the "CROSS"- (Mt. Mariah’s shoulder is Golgotha, Jesus was crucified on Golgotha). 10. Both we're given up or "FORSAKEN BY THEIR FATHER". 11. Both rose from the place of death in "RESURRECTION"- (*The ram provided by God was a late substitution atonement for Isaac & Abraham’s "FAITH"; Christ is the lamb that is a substitution atonement for our "FAITH"). "For by grace you have been saved through "FAITH", & that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God". (Ephesians 2:8) 12. Abraham's servant Eliezer ("Help of my God"), can be seen as a picture of the (Holy Spirit "the Helper") who leads the bride Rebekah (Church) to the son Issac (Christ) as directed by the father (God).

I find it interesting that after Ishmael leaves with his mother, the video shows an image of an Islamic Mosque at the same time when the narrator says "Ishmael created his own nations". Yes, Ishmael's descendants also create nations, but Islam doesn't arrive until literally about thousands of years AFTER Ishmael's existence. Before Islam, There were MANY ethnic people that came out of Ishmael and there were many religions they practiced before Islam came about. So it always confuses me when Ishmael is always associated with Islamic people. There were no Islamic nations during Ishmael's time, and even during most of his great-grandchildren's time. Islam came MUCH MUCH later than that. Even Christianity is older than Islam, by 600 years. Not everyone who lives in the Middle East follows Islam and there are many more ethnic people in the middle east besides Arabs, Persians and Jews. The Media seems to overlook this fact many times.

This is a no-brainer question... ALL believers who read the Bible knew that they are the descendants of Abraham thru Isaac and Jacob and God made a Covenant with Abraham thru his Descendants... God changed Abraham's grandson, Jacob's name into ISRAEL... then, God took them away from Slavery in Egypt and led them to the Promise Land thru their EXODUS... God created the First United Kingdom for the People of Jacob/Israel (Israelites) and put King Saul as their first King, followed by King David... The Kindom was SPLIT into 2 due to the Sin of King David, the NORTHERN Kingdom retained the original name ISRAEL and the people were still called Israelites, while the SOUTHERN Kingdom was called JUDAH, taken from the tribes of Jacob's 4th Son to Leah, named Judah, their people were called JEWS (derived from the name Judah)... to distinguish themselves from the People of the North still called Israelites... When the Babylonian Empire came, the Northern Kingdom of Israel was conquered and Solomon's Temple was destroyed, leaving the Kingdom of Judah in the South unconquered... thus, the People in the Kingdom of Judah called their Faith/Religion in God, JUDAISM ... while the People were called JEWS, to separate themselves from the People of the Northern Kingdom called ISRAELITES that was taken/exiled to Babylon including Prophet Daniel, even though they are all Israelites from the beginning... In conclusion, the ISRAELITES from the Northern Kingdom of Israel were the ones that were taken/exiled to Babylon together with Prophet Daniel and not the People of the Northern Kingdom of Judah called the JEWS... Facts and Truth, Biblically and Logically speaking... Amen.

Great videos. On this one tho, there are many who slightly differ in their view of who's the father of the Jews. Many including some Jews believe it begins with primarily Jacob's son Judah, and Benjamin too. Those are the patriarchs of the tribes that would later form the Kingdom of Judah, and eventually called Judea in post Babylon exile, 2nd Temple period. Conversely, Jacob prophesied over Joseph's sons that they would become the "multitude of nations". Belief held is these multitides are not Jews. Summary, while all Jews are Isrealites not all Israelites are Jews. 🤔

Huh? There are no Jews who believe Judaism began with Judah. Christians maybe, they'll believe anything. The modern WORD Jew comes from the tribe of Judah, much later in Israel's history. But Jews themselves began with Avraham.

I think the confusion arises when people fail to realize the kingdom of Judah was made up of many from the other tribes who moved to the area of Judah when Israel was split. So while Jew may refer to those from Judah the nation, it includes people from all the tribes that wanted to remain faithful and moved south to Judah the territory where the temple was.

israelites are the people from jacob's seed, jews are the ones who believe the concept of matrilineality, in short you are not jew as long as your mother is not genetically a jew, but samaritans (example of tribe that only has patrilineal jewishness) and other humans who has jewish ancestry in paternal line is considered israelites

For more clarity on why Jews follow the Torah, and what is Jewish religious practice, please listen to Rabbi Tovia Singer at Out Reach Judiasm, and Rabbi Michael Skobac at Jews for Judiasm. They explain many ideas with clarity, and patience. They are excellent!

Reading the bible in English is problematic because through translation someone gave it an interpretation and with this interpretation you lose a lot of the meaning in the bible, one example might be the parallel language use when God ask Abraham to leave his home and to sacrifice his son. God knows that if he ask directly to leave everything you know or to kill your son Abraham will not accept, so when he ask Abraham he uses a specific technique. He starts with the easiest request to fulfill, "לך לך מארצך" leave your country, then he ask to leave his מולדת meaning his nation of birth then the final grandiose request- leave your family, a very hard request to fulfill in the treble society he lived in. God use the exact same technique when he asks him to sacrifice his son, he starts with the ambiguous term, take your son, then he says your only son then the the only son you love then finally he calls him יצחק. Then God finish the sentence with the exact same phrase he started the request to leave everything you know לך לך

I love that Esau is the father of the line of Christianity. Esau who is a warring brute. After all, what did Christianity do in the generations to follow? Such a huge foreshadowing.

so what I got out of this video.. religion is more of a family drama and people are more interested in this drama rather than the metaphor or the core message. This is true in every religion of the world... people just don't want to adopt the message but keep fighting over material things... I think it defeats the purpose of what prophets wanted to teach all of us.

So Ishmael gets kicked out and is so angry starts Islam and hates his brother who starts (kind of) judaism. And tries to kill him for the rest of time? I’m obviously not a Jew and am uneducated on this subject. That was just my quick takeaway
