I work with sex trafficking victims. People don’t understand what it actually is and how widespread either. The fact that this has become political is so stupid. “Trafficking is terrible” should be something that we can all get behind.

IT IS, thats why its politicized. Its a trojan horse technique. It gets the evil-doers in the living room by using codewords that are supposed to be sacrosanct but are used as vehicles for headlines, where the body text of the article is hatred and capitalist greed or power-jockeying by pretending that their hateful message is for the good of democracy.
@Big73Red
@Big73Red Жыл бұрын
No one is saying it’s not and where people get the idea it’s political is from Jim Cavezal being the lead and the company that holds the distribution rights marketing the movie to a very specific politically motivated audience. The factual line of there are more people enslaved now than previously is an argument used by certain people to hand wave away the fact that chattel slavery happened and is an original sin of America. Implying the warlord at the end is a communist helps those same people connect it to Democrats because they’ve been conditioned to think some milquetoast neo-liberals are actually communists. That just to name a couple of things. Because a normal well adjusted person will see it’s a okay movie with a good message, that’s kinda boring with horrible editing. But who the movie is marketed to are the type of people who think every child in the super market who is screaming is being trafficked. So they must save them. So when the movie was made the intention wasn’t to be political. It was made political after the fact with drawing in the right audience who’ll make it political.

i think what alot of people dont realize about child sex trafficking is that most children who are trafficked are trafficked by people they know, namely close family members. these sorts of things happen as well of course, and there is most definitely a network of wealthy criminals who benefit of off impoverished families in 3rd world countries, but admitting that sometimes its the childrens own parents who may be trafficking their children is something that most people may find hard to acknowledge or even think about…

It's also done by the military and cops. Look at military/CIA involvement we had in the last 70 years and you will see human trafficking incidents. Same as drug running where journalist Gary Webb was killed after he exposed that the CIA was importing drugs into the US.

They don't want to accept that it's usually someone close to the victim cause then lots of people would have to face uncomfortable realizations/acceptances of fucked up shit that happened to them. And well fucked up shit can't happen to them cause they're like everyone else. So anything point that out is at best ignored or worst lit on fire in some manner.

Yeah but your ignoring the concept of rights in civilized country. Unless I have proof your child has been abused then I can't stop you. It's your right to take a family member anywhere you want. By bringing up this point while offering no reasonable actionable solution to the conflict between privacy rights and the responsibility of society to protect children you are basically endorsing child slavery because neighbor Bob touches his son. If you aren't willing to put some lead into neighbor Bob and live what's right then stay in your ivory tower and keep your pedo loving mouth shut.

I spent 4 years working with the Department of Children Services. 80% of my therapy patients were children sexually abused. Some were trafficked. Some not. After 4 years, my secondary trauma was so bad I was struggling to parent my own kids without constant nightmares of what could happen to them. More recently, I did a podcast with @BenjaminABoyce regarding the attempt by sexologists to classify pedophilia as a sexual orientation. My research for that podcast had me unable to sleep for nearly 2 weeks straight. It is heavy, heavy information. Please take care of yourselves. You did a very good job of being honest about what was opinion versus fact and staying apolitical. You did a balanced job of criticizing what needed to be criticized.

For what little weight it probably holds, you have my utmost respect for what you do and your capacity to speak on it is openly as you have and at the end of the day you're a stronger person that I am because I know for a fact that when it comes to this issue and children and criminals and actual events and having to deal with actual conversations surrounding actual events I don't know that my overly sensitive mind would be able to handle it. So to be honest I'm grateful that people like you exist that have the fortitude to do what you do to do what's right and to do what's needed to be done to help other people and obviously to your own detriment at times.

Hi, Honduran here. The amount of families selling their children in our country because of the large amount of poverty is huge. The saddest thing is when they give away their children (not selling the children like in some cases) thinking they will have a better life with their new adoptive parents (usually from the US and/ or other foreign countries) just for their children to end up in a child trafficking ring. Other cases are when teens get pregnant and abandon their children inside dumpsters or hospitals because they don't have money to sustain themselves therefore they can't sustain a child. Some organizations rescue these children but most are not lucky especially when they either leave this world too soon or they fall in the wrong hands.

My grandma was almost trafficked when she was a teenager. People were coming by knocking door to door and offering nursing volunteer opportunities for teens and my great grandma didn’t see anything wrong with it so she let my grandma go with them. Luckily they stopped near by to get something to eat and offered my grandma a soda. My grandma was getting a weird feeling about it and she ran out and ran all the way back home. This was in Colombia

My mom was extremely overprotective when I was a child.... I always thought she was just a bit over-paranoid. Then a few years after my mom passed away my 2'nd oldest brother told me of the time my oldest brother was snatched out of the back yard by a strange man. They were 4 and 3 years old at the time... This was in Connecticut about 1954. She managed to run and get my brother just as the guy was trying to get into his car but he just let go of my brothers hand, jumped into his car and got away. They never figured out who it was though police were involved. I understand now why my mom hardly ever let us out of her sight when we were little. If it could happen back then it can happen now.

I'm a paranoid mother here and now, cuz i was an almost-taken child right outside of the house i grew up in. I was 6 in 1995. It was 2 women, driving a van with plates from another state (and its not the "free candy" type, this one was much like the vans soccer moms drove at that time). The way my parents house is positioned at a curve in this street, they likely couldn't tell that i came out of the house they parked near. It was way more likely to them, that i was from any other house before it. And it was insanely lucky that my dad actually was outside with me too, he was gardening & after we finished in the backyard he went in to use the bathroom before starting the other garden area. If my dad didn't walk up yelling my name, holding a shovel lol...i don't mean to laugh at the scariest day of my dads life. I saw him cry that day. I thought i was in huge trouble. If he only thought it was weird uo until i responded, he knew his gut feeling was right once these women peeled out up the street... Towards a dead end. And never came back down. Cops came fast, but didnt find them. My parents always thought they were friends with the registered child SA around the block from us. Theres an area where a person could prolly just barely fit a car. And if you leave it at a certain point, ur coming out right near that guy's house. He had visitors travel to stay there often. The parents in my neighborhood wanted to Freddy Krueger him in that cursed, evil house- its supposed to be illegal for someone like him to live literally right acriss the street from an elementary school! But he hurt his 5 & 7 yr old boy neighbors horribly, & THEY'RE the ones who had to move, because he was grandfathered into having more rights than his victims. And he still smugly stares at the school children thru the window every day as they walk to and from school to this day. My parents, and my childhood friends parents, everyone believed that at least some of his weird visitors were likely sick freaks too. 😢He was most recently arrested just a few years, ago for randomly renting a uhaul & just sitting parked at a playground, in this empty uhaul. My little boy is 6 now. He's autistic, he can't speak. I keep him not only in my sight. I stay where i could physically reach him when we leave. He is such a sweet little kid, and also "the perfect victim" for any type of abuser". I got lucky once, and i can't take chances with my only child. I don't date. I don't let new people in. 😢 We live in an apt building that's pretty big, i see kids his age playing outside without ever checking in with an adult- just like how it was when I was little, for whatever reasons their mothers are distracted, kinda dissociated, struggling with stuff in ways i can't fig out. And i worry myself sick for these other kids too. Adorable kids, who are growing up without positive male figures & crave input from adults. They want guidance & structure- every time my brother in law comes here to spend time with my kid, he is absolutely SWARMED by little boys and girls ages 5, 6, 7 yrs old who want to play catch, or need help with their scooter or something. Always. They don't know him. He's not the only man they do this to. They barely know us. A few of these kids have tried to walk into my apt to play with my son's toys they noticed thru the open doorway, and come in to ask to use the bathroom- usually when they noticed us coming back from grocery shopping or something. Cuz they aren't supposed to go back in their own homes... They always see me with my kid, and they trust me cuz I'm a mom- but there are plenty of people raising children who are terrible people. And all i can think is, one of these days someone's awful friend or relative is gonna notice these kids & that will be it. That's what it's going to take for these kids to have some adults structuring their life & keeping them safe. I just don't get it. I can't imagine who I would be or what I would think like if my experiences didn't include that near-miss with those creeps. I don't know how to even begin to relate with these women, but i would love to understand better. I hope to have a chance to try to plant seeds thst grow better ideas, stuff that may prevent something awful happening to these neighbor kids. But if their own kids don't naturally make it through the weight of their problems, idk how my words can make much of a difference

I live in Miami, was trafficked here and got away due to covid. Sometimes I think covid actually saved my life. There is so much underground trafficking and sex work in Miami and I can tell you that even law enforcement participates. It is so scary knowing what happens and how some of the other girls have died. Before here I was in Tennessee and Mississippi and the trafficking happened there too but it was very hush hush. Some girls refer to a guy as Daddy and he's not their dad because their real dad sold them. And then they work in the clubs and as forced escorts but in Miami there are brothel type places. Massage places. Girls who are sold and women in debt who don't speak English. Awful.

Less political and more corporate. Look at the traditional media outlets and ask why they are attacking the movie's subject matter. Who owns them? How do they make their money? Do you think it's a coincidence that outlets that make money from Big Hollywood are attacking a movie about child kidnapping and exploitation from a small, independent studio/distributor? Protecting kids is not a political stance or issue, so why are these studios and their shills trying to make it as if it were one?

Let's be honest about this, when 4chan, wiki leaks, and other investigative journalists did good work about this topic (including cross referencing FBI reports, social media, and email leaks: all good evidence), because it happened to involve Democrats even bringing this up got you immediately dog piled as a conspiracy theorist "Q-tard". Many people doing the actual leg work weren't motivated out of their support of Conservatives or any party loyalty, but getting to the truth behind what looked (and what I also believe) to be very strong circumstantial evidence of child prostitution/trafficking in the upper echelons of elite society. Now in a post-Epstein world and with this movie coming out, "the Left "wants to act like the past 6-8 years of us trying to bring attention to this topic didn't make them act like insane fucc!ng @ssh0les, and how sick and tired they are of everything being "politicized" when they were the ones who actually pushed this attitude and worldview the most.

This is probably a weird place to put this, but I was a victim of child predators. I want to thank you, Aiden, for covering this topic. The unfortunate reality is, not talking about this stuff only benefits the predators. When I was in the midst of it, I didnt feel like I could say anything. If I did, maybe some justice could've happened. But now, I'll never know what actually happened to my abusers, if anything. No child, or adult, should ever have to go through sexual assault or human trafficking. This kind of stuff leaves mental scars that take a lifetime to heal. It fucks with your brain, completely breaks your perception of reality. Its a nightmare, and the only way to beat this problem is to drag it out into the light.

Yeah I was kind of upset after seeing the movie about it being some qanon conspiracy film. What I did see, as someone who sometimes views the posts of an online qanon watch group, is that there were a TON of Qcumbers promoting the film but that's because a lot of people joined qanon in the first place because a huge part of the Q cult is "save the children" and has to do with the idea of stopping trafficking. Sadly they spend a lot more time spreading around their made up ideas of what trafficking involves (white children being stolen by immigrants/ brown people in general and served up to Jewish and liberal elites to be sexual abused and killed in Satan worshipping rituals involving blood libel and adrenochrome as described in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.) However I think this movie would have been beneficial for Qcumbers to see, so that they could know at least one way that trafficking actually *does* happen. I just don't appreciate that political bent being applied to a non-political movie because that really did stop some people from seeing it who might have otherwise watched it and learned something. What I'm hoping, though, is that those who did decide to see it were then spurred on to do some further research into how trafficking happens and how they can help. The thing is that, speaking as a survivor myself, trafficking happens all around us, sometimes under our noses and most children are introduced to trafficking by someone they know. It's not just in "hollyweird" as they call or in big cities or in blue states and the children most at risk are those who live in poverty.

Thank you for taking the time to talk about this. It's exhausting and it's heavy and it's tragic but that's also why it's important. My mother used to work with a program that relocated and provided for victims of human trafficking, who have gone through the worst cruelties humanity can possibly inflict on a human being. I met some of these women, I sat next to them to watch town parades, I ate thanksgiving along side them. They are real people in the world who have been through the unimaginable and survived. They matter. They deserve freedom. And after they are freed they deserve access to services that can help them figure out how to live again. We need videos like this to not forget about them. To remind people that this issue that needs so much attention to get laws and policies to change to advocate for the victims, and to get fundraising resources to those who rescue and care for those victims. trafficking isn't just into the US though. there are also children being trafficked/smuggled out of the US and within the borders of the US as well. Ballard's claim of children being trafficked into the US may have included all three of these categories, potentially making it an issue of him not speaking precisely enough, rather than one of him lying or exaggerating. @@chrism4008 I thought we meant educated people as in the social workers who are working against these deals. My bad. Either way, I don't think education is the biggest factor in this issue, but rather the connections and power (or money) one has, in order to carry out trafficking deals. In the same way that gang violence doesn't require people to have much of an education in order to do what they want, I would argue that the same could apply to trafficking. I think the main reason why Jeffrey was involved was because he had the money and power to cover it up and get away with it. He just also happened to have the same money to afford an education. I don't think the two always come hand-in-hand as long as you have the right connections.

@user-ns4zm8qe9p well, for one, OUR increases demand for child trafficking by asking to buy children, in the movie, as they set up their sting operation, the traffickers say they'll get even more children. Failure to rehabilitate trafficked children can lead to behavioral problems, often those children end up back on the street or locked away for days at a time. Many trafficked children also have criminal records by the time they're rescued, narratives of the perfect victim deny these kids the legal right to challenge their traffickers or to go to the police. To sum up, this is a movie that is based on a true story that is about as true as any random Hollywood movie based on a true story; true events mixed in with embellishments that help create a story narrative. Underground Railroad (of Tim Ballard), makes mistakes and could do some things differently if they haven't already. They do work with official government and other organizations, but because of the underground portion of their work what and how much is not going to be fully known. The movie should have described more common forms of trafficking, such as people who already know the person selling them. Child trafficking is a serious issue, but dealing with it can only happen if politics (for both sides) is put aside.

As someone who was an investigator for CPS, I thank you. While much of my job was investigating abuse/neglect of kids by parents who were in gangs or on meth, I also had a number of cases involving trafficked children. I find the hate towards this film to be appalling. I read the Rolling Stone article with the trafficking “expert”. None of the children in my trafficking cases were LGBTQ. That’s not to say there are not those cases, but I never experienced a single case like described in the article. The children in my cases were trafficked through: family members who often did things for a long period of time to the child before trafficking the child; the lack of a good family unit that resulted in a child running away and finding someone they thought they could trust who trafficked them; promises of good employment opportunities that turned into trafficking; gangs and other organized criminals kidnapping kids from their families (or out on the street) at gunpoint; a child was exposed to drugs and became addicted and the trafficker made sure the child was compliant; grooming over time from a older adult that turned into trafficking; the child was trafficked while trying to get to the US. Getting the child food/water is only a bandaid on a bullet hole. The child needs to be in an environment where he/she is safe and can thrive. It could mean providing the family with access to better living conditions and resources. However, because many trafficked children are from poorer areas in various countries, it does not prevent armed criminals from kidnapping children. The children I encountered were from Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.

For 2 f**king years, we had investigators like you coming to our house and combing through our belongings, looking for any sign of abuse. They never found anything, but we had to put up with strangers violating our privacy over a clearly made-up accusation that had no evidence to support it. As someone who had to ender that humiliation, f**k you and f**k CPS.

What makes things iffy for me is the fact that Ballard himself belongs to a religion with a history of trafficking and ongoing serious problems with child exploitation and - as a matter of regular practice - putting children in hazardous and inappropriate situations. There are, of course, bad people everywhere, but several facets of LDS culture enable and even protect predators. I don't know what's in Ballard's heart or how well informed he is, but it's easy to see as hypocritical, at least. Don't care about the silly nitpicks people have about the movie, the message is obviously admirable.

I appreciate the research that goes into a video like this, and I hope the general awareness raised by this whole situation overshadows any harm I could imagine. I think my biggest issue with this movie is how it caters to so many Americans' ideal image of ourselves. The implication that trafficking is predominantly a third world problem that you can solve by getting a bunch of armed private citizen donors together to run around terrifying a small rural town in central America, because a psychic medium told you to. It all plays into the American ego and the idea that we can all be Rambo and solve every problem by appointing ourselves as World Police. I don't think more American PMC groups is the solution to human rights violations around the world.

I disagree with this. Human trafficking doesn't work on the same demand basis like some sort of consumer good, it's effectively immaterial how many people are looking to buy, because there will ALWAYS be people looking to buy, and looking to sell. Doing anything to limit the amount of people in circulation is ultimately a good thing. Also, there isn't really any other way to investigate and intercede aside from pretending to be a buyer. There's a reason why police agencies across the world go with the sting, it's the most foolproof and effective way of dealing with these sorts of crimes. I've more than once seen the FBI admit they basically have to give up on digital trails and just wait for children to show up on the market before they can save them.

My biggest problem with the movie honestly is this. It made me sick hearing about the RCMP literally just being a workless job, and how it sounded like they were covering a serial killer... I haven't seen the movie but I think not having a post-credits scene dropping the curtain and explaining would have been a really good thing to do. Even me, someone who has *seen your 411 videos on Wendigoon's channel,* had no idea of how much negligence there is on the police's end. And believe me, I have low expectations. I'm personally not religious, I don't subscribe to any organized religion so I appreciate taking the time to explain even something I already knew like "God spoke to me" meaning interpreting everything around you as a message; which I can absolutely understand. I'm also not finished watching, there's probably more explained. All that out of the way; at this point throw all the spahgetti at the wall. Bring in the "psychics" bring in the oracles you can even bring in a magic 8 ball if all else has failed. To say "They also used a psychic" is almost discrediting how desperate people get to solve these things and discounting the idea that they're using literally everything they can.

Every single one of those things to look for was my household growing up. It was my father and his 4th grade teacher wife. He's a preacher in Las Vegas now and doing missions to Israel.

Aiden. You are the man. Thank you for giving a fair and balanced video. Ballard and Caviezel are not infallible. And either is their organization. But it’s INSANE to me people trying to argue that they have been anything but a net positive. Everyone repeating the NPC talking points about how this movie hurts victims is truly lost. The real brainworms are those who take vice and rolling stone as trustworthy sources.

You did better than great. I can't accurately express how much I appreciate the time and effort you put into this particular video. I have two young sons, and I was a victim of sexual abuse at the age of my youngest, and would do anything to ensure that they never meet the same fate. After I put in enough time to develop the required resources and backing, I intend to stop working in software development, and devote the entirety of my time to running my own 501c3, to aid in the prevention of child trafficking, as well as helping to allocate funding for smaller law enforcement departments that can fund tasers, mace, and stab vests for their dogs. I intend to reach out, if I can bring this to fruition.

I'm from Georgia, and 2 days ago, this brick of horrors told me that 1700 foster care children are missing, presumably victims of s3x trafficking. I have no words...
