One of the things you'll notice in films and television shows is that the characters, regardless of their jobs and careers, seem to have no trouble with finances, unless it plays into the story; take Marlon for example. He stocks vending machines, yet lives in a town that would, in the real world, cost millions to live in. Another example I can draw from are shows and movies based in New York. People can have what would be a low-income job, yet live in a spacious, picturesque home on a lovely street in NYC. The only time we don't see this is when finances play into the story.

It's so weird that in the film the setting the town is suppose to be fake but really it was filned in a real town and on a real beach etc. Normally that would be the other way around. Seaside is a beautiful town . But expensive for tourists

Seaside is a planned community, so it sorta makes sense that it has that "fake town" look Seahaven needed

I love the truman show but it ruined seaside. Before the movie it wasn't well known outside of the panhandle and was a quiet little oasis on a then very sparsely developed stretch of 30a. After it was a madhouae worse than Disney. All of 30a is like that now tho. Totally over developed and overcrowded.

To do this for real, create a tv show like this, would cost billions. Simply creating the sky itself and the rising sun. Is it all tv screens? Look how far it expands.

@@katya261 Yet I've seen reality shows come up where that is the only purpose of the show... To follow someones daily dang life. The Kardassians.. The Osbournes.. I've not seen them.. But based on what I can quickly google I will say they are massively famous and profitable.

@@katya261 i think the in universe appeal of the show is that Truman's entire life had been recorded and he didn't know that he was in a tv show, making his behaviors real and authentic
