Considering the advancement in computing power, it wouldn't be surprising to have an animation feature even for high poly objects and a way to render this without blowing up the device, however it would be even crazier to see a port of Blender for iPads and Galaxy Tabs with an adapted interface, but I think that's too much to ask😅 😅
@scottmcguirk48487 ай бұрын
Hope not. Nomad is great for being simple and direct for sculpting on tablets/phone. Blender and photoshop are bloated powerful but not fun to work with. Hope Zbrush goes more mini core when doing a tablet version.

@@JohSantos094 blender animation made for a tablet would be nice. Not the whole beast. Grease pencil would be wonderful.
Rigging is so laughably easy, weight painting…now that’s difficult. Animation has gotten easier…way easier. For games, you have to work in tandem with your engine, if you wanna test it for games. Naomi is animation on iPad. Or export your character to Mixamo and can animate in minutes. But can’t use Mixamo on an iPad. Pc or Mac browser is what you’ll need. You’ve done fabulous animation so far Dave. Been so fun to be on this journey with you and watch you learn as I learn. I;m working on a game so I don’t get to watch and see what you’re up to, to make me jealous, but when I do peek in, I’m always impressed. Thanks for all you do for the community…even making me jealous. It motivates me, lol.

I tried one tutorial to set up a rig in blender, just couldn’t wrap my mind around it! Also the hard part for me is I just want to be modeling cool things, not hours engineering a rig in blender! I should give it another shot soon though…but first I need to learn to animate along a curve! 😊💯🙌🏾

Here is some ipad only workflow for animating model from nomad Rigging: Mixamo: best for riiging humanoid models even without retoplogising .need an external mouse though. Anything world :an website for rigging and animation,you can rig simple birds or quadrupeds beside humanoids ,more models coming. Animation Naomi animation: you can animate pre rigged models also layers from nomad sculpt. Morphin and cascadeur : 2 upcoming rigging and animation app.

Animating and 3-D is tough. I got my start animating in after effects. Moving to 3-D is a whole New World. Good pro tip, create your animation cycles using a simple stick figure in blender. It’s easier to animate a stick figure than a detailed robot or fully armored Viking. Then export those cycles to your rigged character in blender.

That’s a great tip! Maybe one day I’ll be as advanced to use it :) also, after effects was pretty fun, I remember learning it in art school! 💯

Animating if you are not an animator. But it’s not impossible, just have to learn it like anything else. Unfortunately there is only so much time in the day and to be a character artist and animator to the same level professionally. As far as animation tools in Nomad I would be saddened if they implemented it on a whim like Zbrush did and just add way too much complexity making things messy and buggy. I would love them to add more sculpting and modeling tools. Nomad could still add so much more to make the software more powerful with what it’s already known for.

If you have a PlayStation 4 or 5 I highly recommend you get dreams it is really good to animate quickly and you can make really good models. I use it for fun aswell as nomad sculpt. Dreams can be as complicated as you want to make it.

Well said! I got my masters in digital imaging in 2007. I learned how to animate in Maya back when the tools were rudimentary. Animation is traditionally done by teams of people, but like you said, get creative and figure out how!

I use Nomad for making 3D art because it's less overwhelming than Blender and way more affordable than ZBrush. I also have bought Valence 3D and I'm really excited to try it. One of my goals is 3D animation and for that I'll need Blender or Unreal Engine. I know it's a bad idea to try to rig and animate a complex character if you're new to rigging and animation so I'll start with something very simple such as a stickman or a worm.

I wish you could put group Transformations on Layers. As it stands right now, all you can do with layers is to store vertex data (like color and position). So on big changes, like a rotation, the vertexes will awkwardly move in a straight line from their old to their new position. 😔

I would say sculpting in Nomad sculpt then going to Blender for animation isn’t that hard… it isn’t so easy, of course. In my first try my model of a space girl worked well on Blender and I could make her walk… and even run and jump into a wall with the help of premade rigged animation that added to my model.

if you dont mind me asking, did you have to do the retopology before animating on blender?
@manart65066 ай бұрын
@@lasanha007 yeah, I forgot to mention I did retopology in the Nomad model (In Blender) as the Nomad model had a lot of geometry. I was pleased with the result. After the retopology the model looked practically the same after baking the details in normal bitmaps to simulate the more complex topology on the low poly model.
