Exactly! No one has been able to answer this question for me. Bitcoin is incorruptible money, but seemingly all of crypto is some business idea with a token to trick people into thinking it represents equity in the ‘company’. A real AI crypto network would likely operate using USD stablecoins or BTC.

AI *does* need crypto for the decentralized case, to handle the trustless compensation of "donated" computing resources to participants in the distributed computing layer. For the centralized case, it's pretty much a stocks only game where you buy stock in companies like Tesla, OpenAI, etc. and you can only do that only if they are public companies of course. You point this out at 6:54 so I am surprised you made the statement earlier that AI and crypt don't need each other. Trying to do compensation via other payment methods (e.g. - PayPal, direct deposit, etc.) would be a nightmare and also terribly inefficient compared to a blockchain based approach, especially since in the blockchain space you don't need to deal with gigantic nightmare of verified payment accounts.

Compute is the new oil, all that is left is to figure out what it will be traded in. Blockchains in general have a strong use case to fit online AI agent networks. Picking a winner this early on though would be difficult.

Making AI seem more risky than the avg crypto kind of goes in vein because all of the crypto narratives are risky and will slow down after rotations happen. It kinda sounded like he was calling out RNRD as a project that doesn't need a token (i.e. a company [OTOY] just selling access to its own GPU racks). So yes he thinks it will go up due to hype, but RNDR probably doesn't need a token while it has a centralized wait list choosing who can add GPU power. I have my own bias towards another project that has the fundamental tech (in my opinion), I advise you do more research if you think this video is positive about RNRD's long-term future.
