I have become a big fan of military mondays and I think that our country desperately needs to hear the voices of our veterans more than they currently do but I feel that a lot of this video is off base. I respected his opinion on Bergdahl but a lot of what is being said is just not true. The major general who led the investigation testified that he found no evidence suggesting that Bergdahl was "sympathetic to the Taliban" or intended to desert. Dahl also testified that Bergdahl had "idealistic and unrealistic expectations" of people, identifying with Ayn Rand's character of John Galt. He testified that he had found no evidence that any soldiers had been killed while specifically engaged in the effort to retrieve Bergdahl. He did go leave the base and he did endanger the lives of his fellow serviceman by making himself such an incredibly easy target for capture, but I hardly believe those are offenses deserving of death, as so many here in the comments section are suggesting.

Serving with a traitor sucks and makes you realize how vulnerable we can be even with all the weapons and precautions around us. I was on the USS NIMITZ CVN-68 in 1985 when the Soviet spy Michael Walker was stealing classified docs and sending them to his father John Walker in Virginia Beach, Va. His dad would then in turn make dead drops to the KGB in Maryland. If that wasn't enough, John's brother and Michael's uncle, Arthur Walker was also working for the KGB on the west coast. One stark difference. None of them ever took up wearing dresses. Unless they did it in prison and they spent a lot more time there than Bergdahl.

Something still doesn't sound right about it. Like, how does he get up and walk out without anyone noticing and when you've always got 33% on security? Then what, he walked straight up to taliban in his military gear without getting shot at? How did he even get a talibans phone number to organise this? Was he feeding them info as well? I get that some people are weird, but what's the point of going to all this trouble, only to be a hostage for 5 years, surely that would have crossed his mind during his planning, nobody can be that stupid. Maybe this whole thing was a secret solo mission.

Hi. We always had nicknames for people in the Army. Bird dog is one of the better ones I have heard, I kinda like it? My fellow Soliders called me Hawk? Because of my last name which is Hanks. I was nicknamed Hawk because during mail call we had this same old Sargent working the mail, he was half blind and wore these super thick Birth control devises, and he would come into CQ and start reading of names on the letters and packages and when he came across one of my letters he would say HAWKS--HANKIES--HAWKY--HAWK I knew who he was trying to calling out!! When he started in, So I would just say HERE!! and after about 2 months of this, he knew me as Hawk!! The name stuck!! And everyone on deployment with me started calling me HAWK!! I made alot of friends in the Military and I still talk to 5 or 6 guys on a regular basis and they all still call me Hawk!! And I'm sure a few of them really think Hawk it's my last name? In my opion the powers that be should have hung that traitor up by his nutsacks and poured bacon grease all over him and turn a half dozen wild bores loose on hiss ass and just for good measure after the bores were through, they should have thown his ass on top of a fire ant hill or maybe they should have done that one first? And then for the final fannally tie him to the back of a 998 and drag him through the desert about 10 miles and have a M1 Abrams run him over a couple of times while on fire from a bucket of napalm mistakenly thrown on him while being blown apart by a 20 mm cannon!! And that's getting off lite in my opinion. That would have been some good 11Brovo justice for his ass. Take care. Hawk out!!

Wow! Powerful stories, i should probably find a better word than "stories". I will work on that. Rob, you need to get the volume up on these videos. I can usually hear you well. Try compression or just get the mike closer or potted up higher. I have a real hard time hearing what these brave americans are saying. Thank you for doing what you do. I was there for the “rescue”. I didn’t sleep for 3 days and had to take prescribed “speed” to search for him village by village on a chinook. It was ridiculous. Afterwards, I find out that guy just walked off. I literally shook hands with navy seals during the search operation and promised to punch him in the face on the ramp when they brought him up. I regret not having the opportunity

I had one basically lose it. Creating all kinds of issues and he was not one who would be expecting to lose it . But thankfully I / we never had to deal a dirt bag such as this. When you spoke of the time you were taking indirect mortor type fire. I felt it ... brought back some constant memories. Not a cool time.
