It is a great cabin. We cruised on a sister ship and had an infinite veranda. Unfortunately, the window was locked more often than it was unlocked. We usually could not open it when we wanted it open. We hate the infinite verandah and will avoid such cabins in the future. Those few extra square feet of room space are not worth it! Give us a traditional verandah any day.

IV was perfect for our Alaska cruise 2 weeks ago. The large window with the bed right up close to it really maximizes the mountain, whales and glacier views from the bed. We were in temperatures from 2C-15C on the trip and could keep the window open all night for the best sleep ever. I would get a normal balcony in warmer places, or just an ocean view room. another great video!

Hi yes, the Infinite Veranda is ideal for those mild weather cruises. Agreed about getting the configuration with the bed by the window. Ours was too. But some IV layouts have the sofa by the window instead, and the bed way back in the centre of the cabin. So important to book the IV configuration you'd prefer.

If someone from a cruise company film free said I was on their shot, I'd have said they were in the way of the vacation I paid for.... Especially knowing they were filming a campaign that prominently features an actor portraying a passenger eating french fries.

I was told that I needed to move from one of the pool bars while I was having a drink and lunch so that they could film a promo on Princess a few years back. I declined their kind offer. The head guy from the film crew came up and apologized for the brusque treatment. I finished my drink and lunch, and then I moved. No apologies from the guy who told me to move. I did inquire about the film crew’s schedule, so as to not be a bother to them in their subsequent shoots. They actually did give me their schedule.

Just adding my own experience, I booked such cabin on the MSC World Europa and I loved it. Being a family of 4, the additional inside space is such a big plus. As we were cruising here in the Mediterranean, we could leave the window open at night and the sound of the ocean is priceless. Cabin-wise the whole family agrees it was the nicest experience we had so far (but from your video and the comments I read, the outside temperature could completely change the experience, I wasn't thinking about that).

The cheek of these film companies thinking they own the area. Sorry Bill but why should yours or anyone else's holiday be interrupted for people who are paid to be there. 😊 Ps once again great content and loving every video you put out👌

We were on the Celebrity Ascent two weeks ago for the Christmas Cruise. While we absolutely loved the ship, we absolutely hated our room. We always get a balcony and "though" this would be just as good. There are many reasons why these rooms suck, let me try to explain. (Remember, compared to a balcony.. if you're moving up from an inside cabin, your probably happy to just have a window). First off, there is not enough power in the room whatsoever. A brand new ship and it has USB2 ports, but not USB3? The Euro Plugs were a trip to navigate, and even those outlets are very low powered. They are not like a regular 120V outlet and do not charge your phones quickly as expected. The bathroom plug under the vanity has a breaker/trip switch that will trip as soon as you plug an apple charger into it. The reset switch is so close to the outlet that the plug trips the breaker on the switch, making the outlet useless. We did Quad occupancy, I'd never do that again in this room. They just pull out a smaller bed under the couch and that's where the kids are supposed to sleep. Once the lower bed is out, you have zero access to the veranda. You can only walk from the bathroom to the bed, as the rest of the floor is now blocked . Our last celebrity cruise, the room was smaller but had more room b/c the bunks came out of the ceiling. The fake balcony..... I like to go outside and sit on my balcony WITHOUT opening the entire room up to the outside air. Within 5 seconds of opening the window, you no longer have an air conditioned room and you now have a hot humid room that takes hours to cool back off. You can't just go outside and sit and not disturb and or wake up everyone else in the room. The window and shade open extremely slow. The shade rattles all night long. If it's sunny on your side of the boat, you must shut the shade unless you want your entire room to heat up to 85 degrees. The window can and will be overridden by the ship gods. If it's windy or rainy, the windows are disabled...which happened at least twice on our cruise. The little glass folding divider doors are 100% useless. They do nothing to block light, keep heat/AC in or out, block sound or anything. I've absolutely zero clue why they are even there. We will 100% go back on the same ship, we loved it, but this Vernanda abortion is not for us.
@ritzytravelguide15 күн бұрын
Hi there. Many thanks for your comments. Your sentiments are felt by many. 50% of people love the window, and the other 50% absolutely hate it. Celebrity have really divided opinion!

We definitely wanted the suite with a balcony when traveling to the Caribbean. I believe the door opens outwards because that cabin is sat back in a recess, slightly further back than the main corridor, so if the door opens outwards, it doesn't restrict access to people walking down the corridor which would breach a fire regulation. So if sat back in a recess, they probably decided to make it open outwards into the corridor as it makes the room feel less impeded.
@ritzytravelguide8 ай бұрын
I think you're right, it does give more space inside the cabin. Problem is, it also gives quite a nervy lack of privacy!

No expert here, but similar to pool fencing in Australia the gate to access pool always opens out to make it more difficult for children to get into the pool area. We just went on the Celebrity Ascent for the 2024 transatlantic cruise to Barcelona. We had a starboard side infinite veranda room and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect room for us. Now keep in mind this was a mid April sailing where humidity wasn’t bad and we were moving at a good speed. If it was the Caribbean during the summer and you are sailing along at a slow speed, I can only imagine how “hot” it would get. Overall, we had zero complaints. Well, maybe one. It is quite easy to see through the windows. So be careful how you are dressed.

@Angiehere-1 Me too! And that's one of the real downsides of this Cabin!

Wonder what prompted them to make such a terrible change.

The cabin is nice. The veranda was meh.

This is the main reason why I refuse to cruise on Celebrity with an infinite veranda. I would only consider if it was an Alaskan or Norwegian cruise where the weather would tolerate no AC.
