Suggestion for another topic: For customers who had their car ceramic coated by a detail shop (or who did it themselves), what is a good general maintenance program you can suggest? How often to wash it? How often to decontaminate? How to decontaminate without damaging the existing coating? when to apply coating toppers? etc. As customers, we hear a lot about maintenance of the coating, but I don't really know what I have to do and how often I have to do it. I just wash my car every week or so with either a bucket or a waterless wash, but there must be more to do as part of a ceramic maintenance routine right?

Interesting stuff. As a customer who bought a new car in March 2024, I was wondering why my detailer who coated my car gave me a 3 yr warranty after using a 6yr coating. It's a coating that requires certification to install, and I bet the installer is just playing it safe because he expects hassles if he has to go back to the coating company for a warranty claim. He'd rather under-promise and play it safe than promise what the manufacturer provides and tell me later that he can't honor the warranty. Thanks for the insight!

I’ve heard from my local detailer that “ceramic pro” does not play nice with marketing other coatings that aren’t their own. With that said, I got my car coated w/CSL topped with EVO and because the detailer was an authorized Ceramic Pro installer they could not warranty CSL. 15months later the coating is flat after PROPER maintenance. Today I prefer to learn the game for myself vs contacting the shop about a “warranty”. Needless to say I won’t be back there because of this experience.

I think customers are willing to spend more on a coating that offers a warranty and registers with carfax. Those items help justify the cost. As a business owner my warranty reigns Supreme in my mind because I want a happy customer. I've had customers get in accidents and I had to recoat panels. My ceramic company sent out the coating because of the warranty an carfax. Is it for everyone? No but my opinion differs on education as well so to each their own. You make your living your way

Unless the coating company is going to pay me to reinstall a failed coating there is no warranty. Its a junk warranty and garbage.
