I've been keto / carnivore for nearly a decade. I've just recently switched to strict carnivore. I had some issues happening so I got some blood work done on my own, everything perfect, except my cholesterol. My cholesterol has been in the 250s-380s for a long time as well with an LDLc HDL ratio always in the 8-12 range. People always told me my heart was going to "explode" if I didn't lower my cholesterol. I set up an appointment to get a coronary calcium score. The doctor almost refused and immediately wanted to put me on statins. I asked why would I need to be on statins to lower my cholesterol if the high cholesterol wasn't causing any damage? He said that doesn't happen and I needed the statins. I insisted that since my cholesterol has been high for a long time, I needed to know how much blockage there was before getting on statins. I had a hunch it was low. So he orders the CT and I go get it done. I understand I'm an N=1 and this is anecdotal, but my calcium score was zero in every area. I have zero blockage or build up. There's not even begun to be any blockage or build up. I'm in the top 5% of men my age (45) meaning 95% of men my age have a higher calcium score > more blockage.

I went to see my cardiologist yesterday and got a blood test and he said my TOT CHOL and LDL were higher than Sept's blood test after I started a carnivore diet in January and he wants to put me on statin. My TOT CHOL IN SEPT WAS 215 VS. FEB'S 233; MY LDL WERE 166 VS. FEB'S 184., HDL = 44., TRIG = 91 My doctor said there are tons of studies that statins are good for you. I told him I rather not take it because I saw what statin did to my mother.

I’ve heard this cholesterol message so often now but it never fails to amaze me that doctors are still pushing statins on so many people. I was put on statins 4 years ago but couldn’t tolerate them so came off them after 6 months, despite my GP trying to put me on another type. Now with all I’ve learnt from Dr Aseem Malhotra (consultant cardiologist in UK) & others, I would never go near them again & as I’m now 64 I know that higher LDL is actually protective. I no longer eat “low fat” anything, have massively reduced processed food, never touch seed oils, do intermittent fasting and have dropped over a stone, so am no longer overweight. Big Food & Big Pharma aren’t interested in healthy populations as there’s no money in good health but something needs to change as healthcare systems around the world are buckling under the strain of largely preventable diseases.

Dr. Chaffee I have been enjoying your videos so much. I have been doing carnivore since October 2021. I no longer need thyroid medication and labs are really good. Less brain fog but still have some healing to do there. Insulin resistance greatly improved but still have some healing to do there. I have lost 45 lb so far with ease. I am in my 50s, post menopausal, and thyroid issues so I'm really impressed with my metabolic improvements and the weight loss not being difficult. Reactive hypoglycemia has gone away. Rosacea has improved a lot. Hair doesn't fall out a lot anymore. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you shared in some of your other videos about herbs and spices causing depression. I've had severe depression my entire life even as a child and I've had significant improvements there too. I am not completely healed but am experiencing a lot of improvements in my mental health and physical health. After reaching a point of hopelessness I am finally hopeful. I am working on getting ride of that last 5 % to heal the rest of the way and feel amazing instead of just better. Thank you thank you thank you so much for what you are doing. Look forward to your videos. Praying for God's protection over you and the good work you are doing here to help us all have better health 🙏

If you were taking meds for thyroid obviously the numbers of tsh were normal. So what made you decide to stop the meds?
@helenhill94827 ай бұрын
My doctors and practice nurse were annoyed with me for changing my diet to zero carbs a couple of years ago, stating that I should stop what I was doing as it was dangerous. They were blind to the fact that that was exactly how I lost 98 lb in weight (severely obese to ideal BMI) and reversed T2D, NAFLD and hypertension!!! My nurse tried to make me have a statin again because my “cholesterol” (cholesterol-carrying lipoproteins) levels were “too high”. I refused as I know the standard thinking on the subject is all completely backwards on downright wrong. I can no longer trust anything my doctor tells me and have to do my own research before I decide whether or not to accept their advice.

I feel like I’ve gone down the rabbit hole. I started carnivore nonchalantly, in Jan of this year at the recommendation of a few family members. Almost immediately, I started gaining weight…. So I began researching. Reading, watching, listening….. to everything, trying to figure out why I wasn’t losing! As a result, the more I learned, the more strict my diet became. I started initially, thinking it would be nice to lose a few lbs … and I didn’t have much to lose! But now, I’m 13lbs heavier (which I don’t love, I’ll be honest), but I literally couldn’t care less. The health benefits of the carnivore lifestyle is astonishing! I’ve been 100% BBBE and salt for 3 weeks now and I can confidently say that I will NEVER eat plants again. Thank you, Dr Chaffee, for dedicating your life to teaching the public about this WOE and exposing the lies. Cutting out alcohol has been a life changer in so many ways. I am glad you mention it. I am amazed how many doctors never even mention alcohol or suggest one stop drinking. Depression, anxiety, inflammation, blood sugar, etc are usually a alcohol problem. I encourage everyone to stop drinking for one month and see for yourself. I went Carnivore & my A1C went 5.3 in 4 months, then 5.4 again 3 months after that. Then doctor said cholesterol too high (but triglycerides, etc were perfect), MUST take statin immediately and stop eating meat and add good carbs. I tried the advice (except the meds) and in a few weeks, my blood glucose went to pre diabetic range again. Seems to me, high cholesterol isn’t bad as they say. I’m going back to Carnivore.

@@sannamuh985 Thanks. I ate what was deemed “healthy” and not the Standard American Diet - tons of fresh fruits, fruit and vegetable juices, vegetables, rice, milk, potatoes, whole wheat bread, very little red meat, fish & grapeseed oil for cooking. I do have a very big appetite but I eat mostly real food. I even did a juice fast, fruit feast and vegetables only for some weeks. It was a big shock to me to be diabetic. Turns out that these carbohydrates whether real food or not turn to sugar. Natural sugar in fruits is still sugar - not good! Now I know better. I’m pretty sure the Carnivore diet will again fix my health. You know, when I went back to the doctor after 4 months and my A1C became normal (due to Carnivore), she didn’t even bother to test again for fatty liver and gallstones. Basically saying, you don’t have them anymore.

He also suggested i take this millet flour for all its nutritional benefits as an alternative to medication. My alkaline phosphatase was 29 U/L which the test shows was below the normal range. My blood pressure is usually low too recently 105/69 85 BPM. I do feel fatigued and low energy a lot of time but i also know i can improve diet and exercise. I just wanted to check my blood results with you because i dont trust conventional doctors anymore they really have no knowledge of nutrition. I would appreciate you letting me know if anything appears concerning or can be improved upon. Im really trying here. I cant wait to buy your book!

When you say you are not fully carnivore do you mean you eat carbs? You could be screwing with your fat adaptation if you're eating carbs. Maybe eating not enough fat? If you learn about calories and ratios of which meat cuts you eat then you maybe eating too much protein, and not enough fat, which your body ends up turning proteins into sugar to burn - which also messes with carnivore diet. Only like 2 cuts of steal have high enough fat ratio to give you the energy you need from fat. Ribeye and New York strip steak have 70%~ fat 30% protein. Ground beef also if you get it 70%+ fat/protein ratio. There's a lot of lean steaks that don't have near enough fat, chicken nor fish have near enough fat either. You gotta learn to count calories from fat and make sure you get 70-80%+ of your calories from fat or the diet isnt going to work, especially long term. I know some people add a ton of butter into food and eat tons of eggs to achieve the rest of their fat. Good luck and sorry if you already knew this.

Yeah, the whole cholesterol causing heart disease thing was just a complete lie and a scapegoat invented by the sugar companies. It was never the cause of heart disease, and higher levels are associated with living longer and healthier lives
@jackspratt22226 ай бұрын
So is there a limit on how high cholesterol , especially LDL should be though? Mines 6.7 rn.

I wish we had an Anthony Chaffee in Germany. I feel like 99% of people here are totally convinced that meat is unhealthy. They don't even question it anymore.
@anthonychaffeemd6 ай бұрын
I'm sure there are people with the same way of thinking in Germany, just need to seek them out. Hopefully we can turn the tide though and get people on the right track again.

@@anthonychaffeemd A few people get it but the politicians are against us. They are planning to add a new "meat tax" and I saw a video of a politician talking about "helping the citizens to make healthier choices".

Thank you for this. I started carnivore two weeks ago and feel amazing. Just got my first round of bloodwork done and panicked. HDL is 55. Triglycerides are 100 but LDL is 247. Almost quit. I’m back baby!! Thank you

I love that you back up your points with good analysis of the data. It makes your point of view basically irrefutable.

Whenever someone asks me the facts behind Carnivore, I give them a sheet of paper with all your vid links on it. I don't argue, just say, here see for yourself! This one is at the top of the list! Works every time. Thanks Doc for all you do and the time you spend researching the PHD!

You've given this list to docs? And some of them listened? OMGOODNESS I'll have to try because I'm SICK of hearing the statin argument and they're getting more heated 😤

How can we see the Acnem debate? Many thanks. You're doing great work. Truly. I have to say I'm thankful that I discovered you. I've listened to a lot of doctors, none of them I've agreed with 100%, except for maybe Paul Mason, Nadir Ali and Ivor Cummins. I've agreed with every single thing I've heard you say. And you're not condescending at all. You've a great approach to explaining things and you do it without using latin and esoteric terms. Keep it up. You're helping people more than you know. Thank you.

Great video Dr. Chaffee. We know you are super busy with your medical work, but we appreciate you taking time to educate the world on how to be healthier and debunk the lies out there, like that cholesterol is bad when we can clearly see it is not! Can’t wait to see Dave Feldman’s study results on Lean Mass Hyper Responders to debunk high cholesterol is bad. More proof to boot the lies on cholesterol being bad!

Wish this could be shared, to many people don't want to listen to how long all this great information is. They want a shorter version. Wish they would listen to this. Sadly they won't. And they need this. A few Nurse friends who can't believe this, can't get past what they have been taught in school. 😢😢

I am so glad and relieved to come across this video. Since I have started intermittent fasting, I have lost weight but my cholesterol has jumped up so high. My LDL is higher than my HDL and it really had me worried. Could not figure out why

I was an anemic vegan and vegetarian for 12 years in my teens and twenties. In my thirties I found that grain made me super sick. I just recently started adding more beef to my diet and trying to get off grain(rice is hard to give up) completely. I've already noticed my bm are more regular. Also, I've noticed that the inflammation in my body is going down. It's amazing!

Thank you so much for this video. I have been in giant arguments with my family ever since they found out I have been eating carnivore because “heart disease and gout and …” and your videos really help me smooth the waters. I keep hoping to convince them to try it too but it is definitely a hard sell.

One of the best videos! Thank you. I’m sending this video to my PCP with another decline for Lipitor :) I’m happy with my blood test results (they aren’t). Total cholesterol 294, TG 48, HDL 68, BP 106/60, calcium score-0.

Nuremberg 2.0 : there is a call for the establishment of tribunals, similar to a second Nuremberg, to hold accountable those who intentionally mislead the public about diet and medical treatments, labeling these actions as crimes against humanity.

Dr Chaffee please consider ;if you’ve not done so already) a full day of what you eat and if possible how you cook it. Would be so helpful. Thank you for being Ming the carnivore diet in such a way that makes sense. Especially when our brains are pure cholesterol and burn cholesterol, why would we want to reduce cholesterol!

Dr. Chaffee has answered this several times. The only thing Dr. Chaffee eats is beef, typically ribeye steak, twice a day if my memory is correct. He drinks water. He gave up even using salt.

Thank you for the comprehensive information. Had a heard attack Easter 2017 (1 1/2 weeks pain and problems getting air, was 3 times at the doc, then he called me in work that I have to go to the hospital immediatly ... during the transport to another hospital I collapsed) ... Now I have 8 stents in my heart. However, hiking mountains since then ... But since 2 weeks I stopped to take Astorvastatin (20mg) because of permanent headaches and last year 2 incredible muscle cramps during bicycling in the mountains. Anyway, will go to let my blood check tomorrow.
