Very intelligent conversation. I always have high cholesterol for almost 40 yrs. Total of 7:1 and 6:4 the dr say if I don’t reduce it I’ll die from heart failure. Well 49 yrs I’m still here. I pray eat right what I cook exercise and almost 69 yrs of age. Prescribe my own vits. I’ll not go drs.

Thanks for this. Very suspicious of this cholesterol fearmongering. Researched statins, and side effects appear to be numerous and severe in some people. Sure I read recently they want to put everyone 50 and over on statins routinely. Someone’s making a lot of money from this!
@alisonbrown26143 ай бұрын
You're right. So many of the people I know who are over 60 are on statins or have been offered and refused. I had a panic attack after being told that my cholesterol and blood sugar levels were too high, but then the same was said to my friends who appear to eat the right foods and are otherwise healthy. I've just found out that doctors base it on what is shown to be a higher than normal level, when these figures are sheer conjecture. I'm pleased to have come across this video. By the way, my brother-in-law was on statins for quite some time and he had very bad aches and pains in his joints - until he came off them. His doctor told him that statins are very cheap so they're giving them out as much as possible.

Had three stents a year ago. Stopped statins after a month. I’m now carnivore, lost 60 lbs, I exercise and enjoy it. At one year follow up doc took me off all meds. Cholesterol is good. Not bad. Sugar/ carbohydrates = disease and death

Does taking supplements like berberine and monacoli K (red rice yeast extract) help reduce cholesterol naturally?

Red rice yeast is the same thing as statins.

I had stopped taking a statin and informed my doctor and he is a consultant cardiologist informed me that I was more or less crazy and said LDL cholesterol in his experience is the leading cause of heart disease and stroke , he wanted to put me on another one but prescribed me a non statin to reduce it .

I couldn’t get my cardiologist to say I didn’t need a statin, so…I started cutting the tablets in half. Probably won’t help but I would rather do that than continue to take a whole one.

So if someone has familial cholesterol and it’s high, with the same levels of cholesterol as someone without familial cholesterol, are they more at risk by the very nature of it being in the family?

43 yrs old my high cholesterol is hereditary they say. Recently put on medication, so finally saw cardiologist to get test done, to see if I've had any issues/problems due to having high cholesterol. Stress test, ultrasound of heart and ultrasound of bilateral carotid were done, turns out both arteries are 50-70% block. My terrible cardiologist doesn't want to help with the issue until 6months and do another ultrasound.(ins purposes I suppose$$$) I've made changes to my diet by doing vegan and vegetarian diet and continue to take staint, Waiting to see another cardiologist for second opinion. 😢
Why not go on the diet that REVERSES heart disease? Research Dr. Caldwell Essylsten.

if high cholesterol is not a cause of heart disease, what explains less incidence of heart disease in people with genetically low cholesterol ?
@georgecav5 ай бұрын
Association is not causation. That is for honest and capable researchers to establish but inflammation is often touted as a main driver and then having higher cholesterol becomes an issue because there are more particles for the inflammation to affect

LDL particles can be large and ‘fluffy’ which is better than small dense LDL particles that are more likely to stick to your arterial walls. Their are tests which determine which of more you have.

It's completely true what he said on the BBC recently - I'm my paranoid schizophrenic brother's unpaid life carer ... Yesterday he got a rare " how are you doing" phonecall from head doctor at his local doctors.. ... My brother mentioned some things & he replied " ok I'll get the girls to make an appt to see me & I'll have you some bloods done " .... His appointment came through But not with himself or Any doctor Only the nurse... .... He left his comfort zone & safe place & turned up to the doctor's & the nurse didn't have a single clue about doing Any blood tests 🤔🤔🤔 .... But what she did do is to take his blood pressure (like normal) & then said how it was high ( like it's been for years when tested ) ..... Then she left & came back with a take home blood pressure machine and said test yourself for a week & don't worry if it is high we have a medication you can take for that 👍 ...... Don't tell me that his visit was NOTHING more than to get someone pop statins because of the COVID jab , Regardless of whether they need them or not 🤔 In ALL the years of having high blood pressure they've NEVER offered my brother a machine to suddenly take home... That call to my brother was NOT A " HI HOW ARE YOU, BECAUSE I CARE " telephone call .
