I love how while watching this I’m being bombarded with weight loss and detox drinks on ads

In the book, “French Women Don’t get Fat,” there is a recipe for a leek and vegetable soup, which is intended to detox and jump start weight loss. I find that fascinating. I don’t fast or detox, as I become dizzy and weak anyway. You’ve helped me see that I can enjoy a little piece of dark chocolate or other treat and thoroughly enjoy it. Otherwise what’s the point? I especially enjoy the content with your mom- I’m close to her in age.😊 keep up the good work, Lucie.

I tried that detox only once and that was more than enough. The leeks were hard to cook and to digest. Only once in a while, I'll eat various salt free broths and lots of zero calorie drinks. But that only lasts for less than a day.

I just saw a video that explains why the taxes make you dizzy and sick because all the toxins come out of your cells and they're floating around your bloodstream they mentioned something about having protein during a detox which will help synthesize the bad stuff as it releases out of your fat cells and out of your body so again it's like if you go on a high-protein it's like fasting if you really don't mess up because it helps you clean out your system and synthesize the toxins at the same time don't ask me it doesn't sound right but that's what they say

That book has some good concepts but that detox recipe is 💀 So glad you don't do that and are able to enjoy your treats!

This is a great video. Modern day detoxing has become a very manipulative marketing ploy without actually addressing the root causes of ill health or feeling the need to detox. Most people would get by following the recommendations you mentioned such as eating balanced meals and developing better eating habits. That being said, I would not rule out that detoxing is inherently dangerous or bad, but more so how detoxing is practiced and the reasoning behind doing detoxes. Like you mentioned, detoxing is marketed as a quick fix from unhealthy habits and that a detox can be a 100% quick fix, which yes is very harmful and is not the case. Rather than doing the work to improve our habits and what we eat (in terms of quality), people are persuaded to just take an instant solution to improve their health/lose weight/etc, and then return back to the lifestyle that got them unhealthy/overweight/etc to begin with. Very manipulative and misleading, so yes very bad in that sense. The fundamental problem is the misunderstanding of the reasoning to detox. Detoxes are useful in that it gives the body less work to do certain processes such as digestion and filtration so that it can facilitate better healing. Yes we do have organs such as kidneys that filter blood/toxins/heavy metals/etc, but if the body is constantly having to work very hard to eliminate these things, at a certain point it begins deteriorating the body (illness/disease/etc). Same goes for the lungs and every other organ in the body. Detoxing helps because it reduces the stress on the body processes and help the body facilitate flow and elimination. Detoxing doesn't work because of the detox itself. That being said, like you mention in the video, the primary thing people should focus on is developing better eating habits, focusing on hunger/fullness cues, eating whole foods, etc. Detoxing isn't necessary, and should be the last thing a majority of people focus on, let alone give any attention to. There is much larger hanging fruit to pick that will do people better. The lifestyle will do more for health than any detox by far. Really great video again.

Thanks for your input, I just don't like the term detoxing for what it implies. But sure, letting your body rest a little by eating more balanced, lighter meals with more whole foods sometimes can be good!

@@Edukalebylucie 100%. Like you say in other videos, it should be based on internal cues in terms of when and how its done, not because someone said you “should” do a detox. Most people who eat balanced meals dont really feel the need to do it ever lol. I personally dont do them.

I think what everyone is missing is BALANCE!!!! I have chickens.... I give them a balanced, nutrient dense, chicken diet... I add herbs, spices and a BIT if FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH to their feed bi weekly.😢 My girls have never had a worm or parasite problem..... It's all about balance. People are too extreme in their thinking of things. A little bit of good doesn't mean a lot is better.... think people..think

What about toxins in the food and environment?
@Edukalebylucie4 ай бұрын
Your body is equipped to deal with them. Ideally, they wouldn't be there, but going on a detox will not help you eliminate them more effectively.

Thank you.. I believe it is so.., but is it enough or we have to support our body some how in that specific case.., not necessarily with detox, there are so many other ways @@Edukalebylucie

All animals do seasonal cleanses. This girl is really pretty and sounds so confident, but she's underqualified to give health advice. Half of what she says is untrue. Take with a grain of salt. Doing research on Wikipedia isn't research.
@nichomoser994 ай бұрын
@@kaymann8007 she is correct regarding modern day/mainstream detoxing practices and reasoning. How detoxing is commonly performed now does more harm than good, and is a great way for people to waste money and/or business to overcharge for a process that they dont even understand themselves. Lucie’s advice and recommendations are much more helpful than what is propagated in the mainstream health and wellness space

She studied biology w a focus on nutrition at the Sorbonne and is a licensed nutritionist. So to say she is under qualified is incorrect. Naturally, one may not agree with her message, but she is more than qualified and all her advice is very sound.
@Edukalebylucie4 ай бұрын
That isn't correct, some of them do as biological adaptations to survive, which doesn't mean that humans should. I'd love to know which half of what I'm saying isn't true. Also, I studied biology and nutrition for 6 years and have been working in the field for 4.
