As a European, who has relatvely easy access to some of the best chocolate there is, I wouldn't say Feastables is among the top tier of chocolates. The taste is decent, but it's 5.5 euro per 100g over here (in the US it's ~4 euro per 100g). That's roughly 2x the price of Lindt chocolate, which is significantly better, and almost as expesive as Läderach. In fact, I've spent less per gram at a proper artisanal chocolatier in Liège. Needless to say, I'm probably not going to buy Feastables again, but for a "merch" / "branded" product, it is very good. A lot of celebrities/influencers in my country have their own Pizzas or other products, and most of them are genuinely bad products, whereas feastables only lacks value for money.
@PizzaTrophy
@PizzaTrophy 8 ай бұрын
i wouldn't factor cost and how it compares in Europe into your decision about it's taste. I can get them at 7/11 for under $2 which is pretty good for a chocolate bar, also 7/11 doesn't sell lindt so that's not a great comparison. he's not out there making THE BEST CHOCOLATE BAR!, he's making decent ones 10/10 on the deez nuts, will eat again. probably this week when my kid asks for more
@morgenanspyrys
@morgenanspyrys 8 ай бұрын
@@PizzaTrophy I said it tastes decent, not great, but the value is lacking. If you compare it to Hershey's (which kinda tastes like vomit to me sorry Americans don't put fucking butyric acid into food) it's infinitely better. 2$ at 7/11 is still more expensive than Lindt is here, since the Feastables bars are 60g, that puts it at 3.33$ or 3.16€/100g. Lindt can be found for ~2.50€ per 100g quite easily, and I've seen it as low as 1.79€ (1.89$)/100g online (in store it can get even cheaper with offers). For an equivalent amount of chocolate to a Feastables bar (60g) that is 1.13$/1.07€. I'm sorry but if you're ~2x as expensive as Lindt, there's 0 reason to buy something that only tastes decent. Feastables is like high C tier (assuming mid C is the peak of a normal distribution) and Lindt is like high B low A, about 1-1.5 standard deviations better, and literally half the price (or even cheaper) Obviously chocolate availability in America is different than in Europe, but for me to buy a Feastables bar it would have to be probably around ~50-60 cents European? Tbh with how cheap good chocolate is here, there's little point buying anything else. Edit: It appears that Walmart online store carries Lindt 125g bars (2x Feastables bars in weight) for 3.26$. If you've never had it before, I'd recommend you give it a try, it's basically the "entry level" swiss chocolate (idk how it would be to an American palette though tbh) [also entry level here doesn't mean "bad" or "inferior", swiss chocolate just gets crazy good but even marginally better options are significantly more expensive due to way smaller scale]

Mr. Beast is probably the best case scenario for the face of KZbin. Imagine if that was instead a Jake or Logan Paul. You can call it charity p**n or whatever you want, but the reality is, this inspires more people to be more charitable in their own lives rather than be a complete and utter douchebag. Skepticism shouldn't detract from the fact that this isn't a one off thing and the money he uses from these videos is used for even more charity.

If you think about it. Jimmy doing philantrophy and spending millions on good causes and SHOWS US it's real depsite the intent being to avoid critism... is a win for everyone. Sure you might think it's underhanded. But see it as this... What would you rather have? A rich good person giving away millions to something bad. Or a rich "bad" person giving away millions to something good. We seen rich people who are good at heart, fall for scams or organsations that are terrible! But Jimmy here might be a bad person, but heck the money they give away goes to good places. Yes, this. There's tons of charity going on everywhere not being broadcast on media platforms like KZbin. Just because it is with MrBeast, doesn't change the fact charity is being done. Broadcasting it isn't wrong because it is indirectly funding more. Taking the flack for the whole "blind people" charity as an example; that would not have happened if he wasn't making as much money as he was then. Making more because of broadcasting it isn't wrong. He could've made more doing many other things that weren't charity, and that's not even considering the expense of the procedures in that video. The fact it happens is only a good thing. The fact his popularity is as strong as it is is only a good thing because this means more funding for more and bigger charities. It's win-win-win. Who's being harmed by any of this? The people who are donating? They do so willingly. Some I'm sure are probably donating more than they should or can afford. That's still their choice, but if they can't control their spending any better than that, then at least it's going to be used better than otherwise.

I used to watch him before he got super big, and when he got his first sponsorship with Quidd he gave the money to his mother and sincerely thanked Quidd for giving him that opportunity. While you could argue that he has a selfish goal of trying to be #1, I think he's trying to do it in a way that creates a feadback loop between helping the world and making good content, whereas the Bill Gates of the world does it primarily for optics to hide their evildoings.

I've had a Feastables bar before. I'd say the best word to describe it would be "Simple". It's chocolate. No particular richness, flair, crazy flavor, etc. It tastes like how I'd expect generic chocolate to taste. (Albeit, without that signature Hershey's acid-y flavor) Definitely not worth the price compared to some other options, especially when you compare price per ounce, but it's definitely much more ethical than the child labor using corporate overlords over at companies like Hershey's.

I'm in the camp of a person who doesn't care for content creator backed products. Coz we've already seen it with celebs, it's usually just an existing product that gets modified to whatever gimmick the influencer/celeb has which drives the products popularity that it wouldn't otherwise have without that influencer/celeb backing it, whether it's drinks, alcohol, food, beauty products etc And this isn't coming from a position of hate that is by the way, just a general comment, coz I have the same stance with regards to like designer brands where I've laughed that someone will pay like 10x more for a famous brand when that product is probably made in the exact same factory as the product that costs 10x less.
@FutureProofTV
@FutureProofTV 8 ай бұрын
We feel similarly! There isn't usually quality behind these products and if there is there's no real way to know if the creator who funded it ensured this or if it's a PR strategy. Which i want to be clear there is nothing wrong with that live your best life and eat the chocolate you prefer. but most people who buy Hersheys do not buy it because they think it tastes better then the higher end brands most people buy it because its very cheap, they know what they are getting, and you can get it almost anywhere. Hershey's is the Mc. Donalds of chocolate bars, Its made as cheaply as possible and as widely available as possible and is just good enough for people to seek it out when they want something familiar. If you prefer it to more expencive brands you probably just don't actually like the flavor of chocolate very much and as such bars with a higher percentage of chocolate are a turn off.. As a late X-er, I am aware of this guy & a few of his early major stunts, but I’ve probably seen only a literal handful of videos about him & never seen or heard of his products. Obviously I’m not his market but I appreciate this video keeping me apprised of what the ‘kids’ are exchanging their treasure for.

I would say that of all the things to have come out of late stage capitalism, Mr Beast is not bad. Perhaps even good. Very much a product of the system though. And maybe it shouldn't be up to him to do these charitable initiatives, maybe we should just do them, as a society. Like with the blind people, the infrastructure and the people to cure them already existed, the only obstacle was the money. Like with Tuberculosis (if you follow the Green brothers, you know).

Even if he's awful.. we see the results and able to find the truth. What he says he will do, he does... The money he has is being circulated and put back into the community for "avoiding critism of being wasteful?" ...Sounds like a win win to be honest. As long as no one gets TRUELY HURT.. who cares? Sure he can use those millions he wastes in his videos to give it to more charity and such.. but at this point... he could have easily been like every other youtube millionaire and just not do it... so yea.. I rather take this nessarcy evil.

Whether or not Jimmy is here to make the world a better place as his one goal or only does it to build up his social brand, there is no denying the good he does for millions of people. I don't think his true intentions matter when he already has changed the lives of millions and will continue to do so. Great video!

Being an Australian in a medium sized town, I can say I've seen feastables around the place, hell I even saw one on the ground near a KFC store. When I tried it for the first time the only one I found to be good was the reese's flavour or "Deez Nuts". But the largest one is 4 dollars AUD for 60g of chocolate which in comparison to a typical Cadbury chocolate bar, a 360g of chocolate is only 6 dollars AUD. What I've come to the conclusion is that, while the money may go to a good cause, the reason the business even works is because of the positive brand MrBeast has.

I didn't know who, or what, a "Mr. beast" was when I bought the plant-based chocolate bars at the grocery store. I really liked the crispy bar. It wasn't that creamy but it wasn't chalky and I liked the flavor. I think they're a tad expensive compared to options like Pergale or Trader Joe's store brand. But, I'd definitely buy them again if the sale price is right.

There are so many massive corporations that could be putting so much more money into making people's lives better, even if it was just improving the infrastructure like roads that they use... but they don't, and just do the bare minimum to evade taxes.

I've has a feastable bar once and I liked the flavor but I can see why others would not. The chocolate is slightly more bitter than traditional milk chocolates and overall feel "fresher" or "cleaner" to eat. Idk how to describe it but I don't feel disgusting after eating a feastables like I would eating a Hershey's. Hershey's is overly sweet, has a "sour" after taste, and make my mouth feel like tooth decay. If children are going to eat copious amounts of chocolate anyways I think its far better for their health and suguar addictions if they eat feastables.

For a follow up if you’d like to explore the philanthropy of the Hershey company. Take a look into the Milton Hershey school in Hershey Pennsylvania. In short, since he did not have any children Milton Hershey decided to start a school for underprivileged children, it’s still running today almost a century later because of its shares in the Hershey company left behind by its founder. It is a truly incredible place.

My only problem with MrBeast is that he misses the forest for the trees.. he seems to put an emphasis on how individuals impact an issue (pollution, climate change, eye health) instead of putting pressure on corporations. There are Mr Beast chocolate bars here in Australia but the price is very comparable to luxury brands like Lindt. I'm not sure if its selling that well here though - its a very small chocolate bar compared to the competition. They are only available in America. Or at least, they aren't available here in the Netherlands. From what I'm hearing, it's less sweet, and considering American chocolate is less sweet in general than EU chocolate, they likely aren't as flavourful as EU chocolate either. But Americans are also kind of trained to enjoy that vomit flavour in chocolate, so... 🤷‍♀️ who knows...

I don't really eat much sweets, like normally I wouldn't even think about having chocolate or anything. With this stated I have had growing up different kinds of candy, mostly around Halloween. I have bought these Mr. Beast Bars, to try them, cleaned up the area in which they are in just cause, with no photo taken, and snacked on them a little over a course of time of having them. I really have to be in the mood for sweets to eat them. They are very good. Honestly I have had some of these higher branded candies too. Especially when I was on a vegan diet and found some organic brands and those they are also very good. some can be crazy high in cost. Either way, after having these bars, definitely very good, compares really well, and with a glass of almond or oat milk. It's pretty damn good. The dark chocolate one is my favorite one.
