The thing that’s bugging me the most is the fact there’s not a single motorsport themed race category in career mode! No touring cars/gt cars/hypercar events. It’s a motorsport game launched without those 😮 They may be coming later on but it’s a bit rubbish there’s nothing at the start

Exactly, it feels like they revised the lootbox experience. Giving events, tracks and cars in succession probably in paid dlc. It's a very restrictive progression system. FM7 with lipstick.

STILL no opponent customisation, we should be able to choose the cars upgrades and liveries of opponents in custom races to be able to build proper motorsport grids, same for Horizon, Gran Turismo 7 added the feature finally, but none of the Forzas have it despite it being a feature of custom lobbies on Forza Motorsport 4, multiple console generations ago.

You don't need to buy multiples of the same car to have different setups. In the Upgrade and Tune menu, there is a Setup Manager where you can store the current tuning and installed car parts. So, once you have your car maxed out, you can create multiple configurations and load them at will for a particular race.

Thanks for that. I wondered why people werent talking about set ups. Like Id rather have 1 car with multiple setups, than the standard Forza experience where by 50-60 hours in you have like 500 cars, but a lot are dupes.

That is the problem most people have though because it's restrictive in most people view point. Forza has always been a community based game and for most of us we hop around from track, to drag, to drift, to cruise, ect ect so being able to just build multiple version of the same car is the easier choice then hoping in a game and having to make sure the proper tune is on the car for what ever we are choosing to do rather than just picking the car we know is for said thing. It's not a deal breaker by any means but it does kinda take some wind out of people's sails knowing this is their only true option as opposed to getting all the cars you may want to build to level a certain level for a tune that might simply be a change in tire pressure or weight difference.

What I do like with the new physics, the tyres finally feel like they're made of rubber, instead of plasticy feeling where they slip constantly, it gives you a more realistic feel to the car.

I've thought about how they could improve the upgrades. Car Points are great. But locking the upgrades behind levels is very stupid. 1. Get rid of the locked upgrades. Open it to everyone, but 2. Keep the upgrades qith car points. Then, you can 3. Keep the levelling system. Every time you level up your car, you earn car points to further your upgrades. Like i drove the RCF,.instantly knew i needed weight reduction and tires, 2 of the most basic upgrades to a car, but i had to wait until like level 20 to get it and it's such a bad decision. Then they can make the level cap infinite as a personal achievement for each player to show "hey, i got my mustang to level 125. I use this thing a lot across my career. And they can transfer car points across duplicate cars so if i gave 20,000 points for my mustang, and then i buy another mustang, i can have the same amount of points

Regarding your last point maybe make it so whenever you buy a duplicate of a car that you’ve owned and level up and also invested car points in, you get half or probably a quarter of those car points and level. So like your example, if i have a level 125 mustang with 20k points worth of upgrades in it then when i buy a duplicate of the same mustang i will also get half or a quarter of those 20k points as well as a raised starting level like level 5 or 10

Also they could follow GT7’s way and make it so the upgrade has tiers to it. From what i see once you unlocked a new upgrade like suspension upgrade you also instantly unlocked all the parts in it from the cheapest yet slowest to the fastest but most expensive. With GT7 you instead have 6 tiers for upgrade: street, sport, club sport, semi racing, racing, and extreme. They could use this system so that the street tier is available and all the upgrades are unlocked from car level 1 and then once you reach let’s say level 10 you unlock the sport tier and so on. This means you have the freedom to upgrade your car however you like, from adding power to weight reduction, but still with certain limitations

Couple extra things, the practice can be skipped (start > exit > skip practice). Secondly, the practice isn't always the length of the race. Earlier, I had 2 laps of full Silverstone for practice, but 4 laps for the race. So it depends.

It's glitchy. And there is a bunch of pop in on the series x. And I know this will sound crazy. But they still haven't fixed the replay system. One thing I love about gt 7 is that when you have an awesome race you can go back and watch the replay. And the way they set it up its never the same replay twice. It is an awesome feature.

i really wanted to see a campaign. If anyone has played the f1 23 story mode, you know what i mean. I want to follow a driver and their journey. Imagine if forza had a story for different classes of racing, maybe we could have seen a gt3 campaign or an open wheel story, or maybe we follow a drivers progress as they make it through the ranks, gain a reputation and really connect to a specific driver. This games doesnt do that, theres a few cut scenes and cool graphical animations and a little dialogue, but its just pracitce, race, practice , race, move onto the next cateogry, practice, race, practice, race. Theres no final goal, no proper progression with a character. As a fan of gt3, f2, and f1 the drivers and the cars, and their bond with them, their personality and the attatchment you make to them, the enemies, the rivals, thats what makes it fun. fighting a specific driver, or specific rival gives an overtake purpose, makes a battle worth fighting for and makes the game worth playing, like it has a greater purpose. Theres no championships in the way real sports have. I think drivertars break this because drivertars arent real people, or actual characters. they change every race and its just a name. if we had a grid of 20 drivers all with characters and storys behind them, i would love to see that. I would also love to see specific race types like sprint races, endurance racing, proper qualifying sessions with multiple knock out zones like they have in f1 wheres 3 qualifiying session, each with the bottom 5 drivers getting knocked out. we should have to plan our time on track, try to avoid traffic to get a good lap in and things like that. qualifying in the new motorsport is literally a case of selecting your grid spot. theres no reward for getting pole postion on the grid. I also see no formation laps, games like assetto corsa competitione have this and its a game changer, also the start sequence is so boring, its a 3 2 1 go. i wanna see 5 red lights and a silent track with a classic beep sound when each light is turned on. It also looks like the race engineer isnt present during the race when you want them. as someone who plays at a very high difficulty level, i want to ask my race engineer how far away the car infront is, am i gaining on them, what was their last lap time, what tires are they on, etc... this all plays into strategy as i find it enjoyable to think about my long term strategy in the game. i might wanna run long on my tires, or migth want to go for an undercut, but i cant make the decisions without the information of the cars ahead and behind. also the penalty system and track limit system looks to be terrible, in the video, he sent it through 10+ cars and crashed into one of them, breached track limits and ruined the race of another driver, and the game literally said no penality. whats that all about. seriously, no penalty for doing that? I also fear multiplayer isnt going to be great with the lack of penalties and rules, i also dont think we have a ranked mode for the new motorsport and even if we did , would it be a points based division setup? also i would love to see safety ratings in both campaign and mltiplayer, all the racing you do should be displayed on your licence

Skipping practice is possible but they hide it in a way that most people may never find. When you're in practice you have to pause the game, select the exit race option and THEN it will show the option to skip the practice.

Alot of the racing I think you're looking for is going to be in the multiplayer lobbies. People setting up races for various classes of cars and performance tiers, and being able to jump in with your cars that you want to drive. The grinding per car seems annoying, but on the other hand, an important thing to do is to drive the car from stock and then see what it needs for upgrades to suit your needs. That said, once you unlocked the parts for a particular car, buying another of the same car, should have all the parts unlocked. Having to redo it over again is definitely an oversight I think.

That’s only for the first sets of cars you get. Once you start getting to some of the race car races you’ll start with upgrades. And then get the pro and race versions as you level up.. honestly it’s a pretty good way of doing it if you ask me. It forces you to actually play the game and grow an appreciation for each car. It’s better than the idea of playing GT7 and just buying all the best upgrades and spanking the other racers every time. I love GT7 but it’s to easy even with every racing aid off and highest levels

I agree the ability to buy the upgrades is never the way. They should've made it Class based. Once you unlock a part for that Class vehicle you can then use that part for every vehicle in that Class. I'm not buying this built not bought ish. They know the game isn't much different from the last content wise and knew it wouldn't be long before people got bored of it. They implemented this unnecessary grind system that punishes you for wanting to try out a new car.

I dont understand how so many people can work at turn10 and nobody noticed in 6yrs how unexciting it was to play knowing if u move to try anything new you'll need to upgrade again.. Bored of it already and ive only got 3 cars to level 3,5 and 11..and whats the point of your first career event making you change car.. Ive just spent 1 to 2hrs upgrading the civic to 11 and you have no option to carry on upgrading you're forced to start over with another car.. So any new event series you'll b at level 1..will see how it progresses✌️

after playing all day I can say the only problem I have is the pack runs into you and slows you down and the top 2 cars just fly... starting in the back for most money isnt really worth it early. you actually make more money on a slightly lower setting if you do want to start in back and drive through. Online races have been great besides 1-2 races that were chaos im not the fastest man but my s rating is S and my comp lv or w.e is 3k somthing. the first 3 races online just dont Q like most games like this and just let everyone else take eachother out. I placed 1st in one race and 9th in the other 2 with 12 car heats. just take it at ur own pace and get a feel. im loving it so far on controller and wheel(needs some tweeks in settings)

Yeah it's a stupid decision on turn10's tbh it's gonna put a ton of people off I really like the game so far really enjoy it the only other problem is the PC optimization isn't very good either us PC guys got $hit on that's for sure I got a 3080 and if I turn on RT I get around 20-27 fps it's really bad and very disappointing this game runs better on a console no where near as powerful as my PC and I do not like it one bit hopefully the very fix it past Forza games run beautifully on PC but not this one

I’m critiquing what has been my favorite racing game series for what has been nearly my whole life. I’ve been playing Forza since 2005. T10 always seems to take 1 step forward and 3 steps back at every Motorsport release in the last ten years.

Terrific game, super fun. I'm 20 hours into it, and I love it. I play the Builder's Cup solo career and the Rivals mode. I dont play online tournaments, but the game needs a permanent internet connection all the same, unfortunately. I recommend a wired connection rather than wireless, as any data interuption might cause the game to get stuck when loading a race. I've felt connected with every car I've driven so far. It's like I'm one with the car, feels amazing. The control is very good with a regular controller. Cars are responsive and physics feel great around corners. I don't have a wheel, but I might end up getting one just for this game for an even higher sense of involvement. Improving your car level and pilot level feels rewarding. The more you drive, the better your drive around the tracks, the more points you get and the faster you evolve as you get access to more performance parts and upgrades, which unlock progressively. You need to work your way to the top, and you become a much better driver in the process. I'm at difficulty 5/8 and choose to start the races from the last place on the grid for a bit of challenge. I win all the races with relative ease, so I might need to raise the difficulty to 6/8. Graphically, I don't like the lack of colours under certain lighting and weather conditions, it all looks washed out, and kind of misty a bit too often. On a clear day, tracks can look great, though. The overall muted colour palette around tracks doesn't apply to cars, which show more vivid colours. Why have Turn10 chosen to go desaturated beyond realistic, I wonder? Maybe a stylistic choice. I don't care for ray tracing. I find it pointless. Would rather dedicate resources to other aspects of the game, like AI. In real life, there are far less reflections than what RT is trying too hard to emulate. No such thing as a mirror effect everywhere in the real world, except perhaps on a rainy day and a wet road. I do appreciate 60fps, makes a huge difference compared to 30fps, which to me is bordering unplayable and doesn't belong in this console generation. I dont see the point of offering this option in a 12 Tflops system, to be honest. I noticed something I didnt like in the replays. When braking before the bends, it shows the wheels strangely locking up in the replay despite driving with ABS on, and the brakes dont turn red as they heat up. Looks bad, especially when the wheels stop turning. The choice of cars is great as it is, but a bit more tracks would be nice. Turn10 say they're working on those, we shall see. Overall, for what I personally value in a racing game, this is a blast. It strikes the perfect balance between arcade and simulation, and you can easily tweak it one way or another with the aids. I give it a solid 9/10, despite the very muted colour palette, small glitches and required permanent connection to play solo, which in the end don't weigh that much in the scales to me.

I'm happy to have some structure back in the racing format. You will have to unlearn the anything goes expectation you had based on Horizon, but that's a good thing and becomes more enjoyable as you get deeper into the game. I LOVE the handling physics!

Everyone has an opinion and that is the way it should be. I will just say at least Forza had the balls to try something new and I love it! Not giving everything away out of the gate and making you earm it is the way it should be. As long time GT fan this may be the best format of a racing game I have ever played! Genius! The physics and grapics are amazing as well! Love this game!

The best addition was that fov adjustment to the cockpit. Other than that, same forza lip & spoiler, same S15 car model, more difficulty to get the same exact 16 year old engine upgrades 😢

I’m actually enjoying this a lot! I love the slow progression on cars. Getting an sti as my 1st car. Then going to a rwd brz and having to wait to unlock and the LSD and seeing the traction improvements!

I really dislike the way these games make you sit through all these different event types right at the start of the game. It eliminates any feeling of mystery like you had with the TDU games. You really had to work your way up and grind to drive the fast/exclusive cars, here they’re just handed to you!

You can do that though. I did the introduction and then jumped out, bought a mini cooper and did free play and rival events. You earn money doing everything. And while they should tweak the upgrade system, I don't think I would have appreciate my time with it, if I could have upgraded it fully in one go. There's always something to do and I'm enjoying every minute.

This game does need better pc optimization i got a 3080 and it doesn't like ultra settings i can only run half the settings in ultra the rest on high i could be doing something wrong though ill check to see if theres a driver update that could be whats wrong

So Theo; I think you should go into the game wondering if tuning can fix grip/understeer. In FH5, you could really fix the cars up and make them turn nicely instead of understeering, and I'm hoping the same is here. I know you wanna do max builds and show off top speeds, but its common that's not the best place for the car. I understand tho cause content. So this will benefit you in that if people wanna max out a car and show it off in content, they need to learn what's best for the car first before they can max it out. I see this as a good thing so far, depending if you can truly make a grippy car with great steering. Hopefully this will help with maybe supporting a different mindset ♥

I drive with a wheel. Shifting is horrendous until you can unlock aftermarket transmissions.. Painfully, you have to slowly let off the gas, slowly push in the clutch, slowly shift, and reverse so you don't rev bomb and upset the car. Frustrating when hard cornering, etc. In no time I had $600k+ and can't buy a transmission to fix the shift time because it's locked behind a car level that takes 30+ minutes to get to; for every car. With that being stated, the physics have stepped up. I get what they were going for but hopefully they abolish the car level system. I hope they re-evaluate it.. until then I've refunded.

Nice so they couldn't even implement realistic shifting just like gt7 couldn't..... That alone already destroys the immersion. I really don't know why these games trying to fee a sim game can't do it. Like have these people ever driven a car? That's not how shifting works. Maybe on really, really, really, really old cars. But on any semi modern car from the last 30 years you can just release the gas (or you really want to in a normal transmission), push the clutch in real fast, put it into gear, then immediately let the clutch up while you floor it again. If you don't floor it you have to do it a bit slower, but when going fast that's how it works in rl.

Yup its so much better. I still think GT as a serious lack in singleplayer and AI needs a update since they are slow as heck but compared to the mess that FM8 has been i feel ive almost been to harsh to Poliphony Digital. Short career, AI, car leveling, car detail, no vr, no drifting, no dragracing, really bad optimization and much much more has made FM8 the biggest dissapointment since FM5. And honestly i had more fun in FM5...

I think this whole "built from the ground up." Was a poor choice of words. And that we thought that Motorsport overall was going to be better in all aspects. But its clear the 5 years was spent rebuilding the tracks and cars to handle next gen tech like ray tracing. And improving the feel and handling of cars, and additional penalties, tire compounds, and online multi-player racing. Unfortunately all other things like body kits, cars, a unique and fun single player racing experience. Kinda disappointing but l think multi-player racing and hopefully the consistent updates will turn this game to what we hoped for.

Im honestly having fun with this game it took allot of fiddling with the ffb advanced input settings to get it to feel right with my Moza R5 and hgp shifter hbp handbrake i got CRP pedals to replace the srp lites on the way will be here October 10th hope its not a pain to get them working properly like the rest of the moza stuff huge pain in the butt but i got it and its awesome never ever has a fed car felt so good and realistic even better tha Assetto corsa fwd physics this game is awesome on wheel once you finally my get it setup settings wise cause the stock settings are very much trash so horrible once setup though its the best

Truth is the upgrade system is not ideal and people are using the accessibility controls once again the same way they did in Forza Horizon 5 to grind car levels in this case vs credits. Auto braking and steering. 😢 By all means “play” whatever way you want while you sip coffee and eat a snack while car drives itself. That’s not the way I wanna play regardless of whether or not I like the upgrade system. I’m just not about that no matter how much I don’t like the upgrade system in its current iteration. Other than that, I’m thoroughly enjoying the game and I see what they’re going for even if they’re going about it the wrong way .
