Left Cuba when I was two years old, that was 56 years ago! Only thing I know about my birthplace is what my parents and grandparents have told me. Although I’ve never been back, it still breaks my heart to see my country in that condition. That guy Angelo hit me hard when he was talking about medicine, or the lack of. He was talking about being diagnosed as a paranoid-schizophrenic, with high blood pressure and unable to get the medicine to treat it. Then to make matters worse, is the HUNGER. I could literally feel his pain as he spoke to you. I am so thankful for my parents to have given up so much to come to the United States, and give me and my siblings the opportunities that we have. Thank you you for the videos. Love the channel!

You are smart guy to know how good US life is compared to other countries, even compared to second world countries you have much much better life, I hate when I come to the internet and read how American's always complain about the US, I live in second world country and have mental illness, medicine that I require is illegal & I can't even ship it to my country or I will get 14 years in prison

Well Said! I’m in the U.S. My Grandparents came from Italy for a better life here, but nothing compares to what I am seeing on these videos of Cuba. I agree with you, the way these people have to live, my heart breaks for them. Despite the conditions, the people have some great attitudes. Cuba can be a great country with it’s people, architecture, antique cars and beaches. To see these once beautiful buildings in shambles and the trash isn’t good.

Like an investigative journalist, Czech In Effect, captures the authentic local culture of Cuba: pharmacy, dominio games, clubs, housing perdictament, house clothing hustle. Superb content. It is unbelievable that the average Cuban makes $20,00 per month. And- the Cuba medical situation is deplorable. I cannot believe they have the blue pills but none for his ashma. I thought Cuba had one of the best medical systems in the world. Very insightful content Bro!

Don't know why they blame Communism, when that is the solution not the problem. The reason for Cuba's long suffering is all due to aggressive US sanction and blockade. I am so blessed I live in COMMUNISM CHINA, the strongest economy in the world, and I would NOT have it any other way, especially when I saw the hordes of homeless people all over USA especially in Skid Row California. Your coverage of Philadelphia was disappointing. Next time you have to show the city and not just go to the drug sections. Lot more positive things to see in the city. Hello Czech: Your videos about Cuba are very interesting. Talking with the simple people of the town, with the poor people, is very good, but if you want to understand the complex Cuban reality it would be good if you spoke with people with a little more cultural level. Surely if you are going to talk to the homeless in New York, or Chicago or San Francisco, they will have interesting things to say, but surely you will need people with more training in History, Political Science, Economics, to get more accurate information. . To say that the situation in Cuba is due to its president or to the communist system is to be untrue. In the first place, Cuba has been moving towards a state capitalist system for years now. Today there is no work to achieve egalitarianism, since there are already more than 7,000 small and medium-sized private companies, and you can find the private sector everywhere on the island. The island's economic situation has a lot to do with relations with the United States. The United States has been applying to Cuba for 62 years those same sanctions that have just been applied to Russia for invading Ukraine. The difference is that Cuba has not invaded anyone. You yourself will know very well that an American citizen cannot travel to Cuba as a tourist. You had to get a special visa, and take advantage of one of the 12 existing categories to be able to make your trip. An American citizen in Cuba will not be able to use their credit cards and will not be able to stay anywhere, because there are Cuban hotels on a blacklist in the United States, and you yourself would not have been able to live as a tourist in Cuba. The fact that the US government prohibits the citizens of that country from visiting the island as tourists means that every year 3 million Americans do not visit the island and this is equivalent to 3 billion dollars a year in losses. This for 62 years, is equivalent to 186 billion dollars in losses. But since money makes money, and in 10 years it is multiplied by 2, in reality Cuba has lost more than a million million dollars just because of this sanction. But the sanctions against Cuba are more than 243. If Cuba had not been sanctioned for 62 years, and had been able to invest that million million in its development, today the island that you would have found would be very different from the one you have found. In fact, the United States prevents Cuba from buying US patent medicines, and prevents ships that touch Cuban ports from entering the United States before 6 months. Cuba cannot freely sell its products in the United States, and only 12 US companies have special permission to sell in Cuba. The USA does not buy anything that is made with more than 30% Cuban minerals such as nickel or cobalt, the USA torpedoes Cuban economic life at all levels. It does not accept Cuban vaccines, and pressures companies around the world not to trade with Cuba. Cuba cannot use the dollar in its transactions and has fined banks in various countries for moving Cuban dollars. That is why it is so cynical to say that Cuba's problem is the communist system. In fact, the USA has taken a piece of Cuban territory in Guantanamo by force, and at the UN for 30 years almost the entire world has voted against US sanctions on the island, but the United States ignores the will of the world
