But it's different salt! /s Yeah, the Dr Phil episode says multiple times that if you're drinking a gallon a day, it's multiple times the amount of salt recommended. Not even like how people tend to eat too much salt because everything is over-salted these days. Just looking this up, making one batch of this stuff is more than double the average intake of sodium people eat in a day. Unrelated, but if you really want just the potatoes in your potato chips, make your own. That way you can really control that there's no salt AND that it's really potato-y. They actually sell these things that make it so you can make them in the microwave. I seriously love homemade potato chips.

Because when people have psychiatric disorders or chronic illnesses where not a ton of research/treatment is available and nothing else works, you get desperate. Can't tell you the number of times people tell me, someone with a chronic illness of a currently unknown origin, suggest to me what I should do for it. Sad thing is, a lot of it goes through my mom (who really should know better), who then tries to pressure and guilt me into doing these things because it "just might work". You pretty much need to take up a policy of not listening to this stuff unless it's coming from your own doctor, or at least a doctor in the same field (I got a suggestion once from a doctor in a completely different field, so I had to add that to my list).

Jillian only provides the recipe for this juice, so people make it themselves in their own home. She completely circumvented the whole legality issue by doing it this way. She legally can't be held responsible for any adverse health reactions that these people may experience from drinking the juice because they made it themselves.

Exactly what the others have said about only providing the recipe. You can post how to make stuff like guns and bombs and drugs online, but you're not responsible for the people who actually follow the recipe. She does, however, kind of give medical advice (apparently she's told people not to take their medications or go to doctors), but most of the "advice" she gives is conspiracy theories about how everyone naturally has tons of parasites and that sort of crap, and there's nothing illegal about saying those sorts of things. It'd probably take an actual court case to test whether or not she's doing anything that's actually illegal, but until then, she has her lawyers.

Sorry, I just want to add that there was an investigation going on into her because of the health claims she made that was announced in early May by the Ohio Attorney General, but it isn't really clear if it's still going on or what will come out of it. One of the women on the Dr Phil episode said how she gives it to her young kids. Someone (I think Jeff) pretty much told her, if you choose to accept the risks and use it despite what we're telling you, that's fine, but please don't make your kids take it. They weren't taking enough to have the "waterfalls", thankfully, but they probably would still be affected more by taking less of it.
