Kobe has somehow become underrated in recent years. Does Kareem and Magic get penalized for playing together? I didn’t think so.

Magic & Kareem is a very different story. for one, it was the era of superteams. **every** title contender had at least 2 HoFers on it. and Kareem's final MVP season was Magic's rookie year. they never shared their primes together like Shaq and Kobe did. also 5 titles vs 3* *2002 was a robbery and everyone knows it so that title gets a big, fat asterisk

It's the Lebron fans who's been putting down Kobe. I heard some of them even take credits away from Kareem for playing with Magic, because Lebron's getting compared to Kareem in the all time ranking. Now they're trying to take credits away from Jordan for playing with Pippen. Unbelievable.

He learned that from Jordan… he always made sure to shake hands with all his opponents, Win or Loose. Sadly the Pistons showed him no respect in return, even after all the dirty plays… he def became a little more ruthless and a Monster on the court.

@@MikeHawk-yg3gk sorry but no. There’s 5 guys on a court and they play both ways, near 90% of the total. Nba superstars have always had the expectation that they win. @@skap_attack what do you mean near 90%? Ok so if the 2 stars are equally matched but team A has another all star and their role players are better and team B just has their 1 star with mediocre role players, it's the star on team B's fault they lost? Why wasn't Hakeem winning in the 80s or early 90s? Why wasn't Shaq winning until Phil Jackson became his coach? According to you they should've because you pretty much said"you don't need a good team".
@KingBreeze07
@KingBreeze07 11 ай бұрын
@@MikeHawk-yg3gk LeBronze Metal James had about the same supporting cast as Hakeem in 1994 that's what I find funny. The Hakeem question, I really don't think people realize how good Magic was with an without Kareem from the 80s up until 91. Or how good Portland was in the early 90s that West Hakeem had to deal would've been Tim Duncan if he didn't have Popovich an a Hall of Fame PG. Then 3 straight seasons you had 3 different bigs in the West win MVP Robinson Barkley & Olajuwon, then in 1995 he knocked off 3 60 win teams (PHX 59 Wins) then he swept his opponent in the Finals who were a 57 win team. Take all this on top of a pure basketball player standpoint Hakeem Olajuwon is easily a top 10 All-time Player. When the Greatest of All-Time left the game, Hakeem did what Ewing Shaq Barkley Malone Stockton Robinson Payton Miller an those guys were supposed to do an that's finally win a title. He did it both seasons, being a 6 seed in 1995. Remember take away one of the greatest coaches of all time an his hall of fame PG Tim Duncan is 2000s version of Hakeem Olajuwon which still is top 10.

Kobe Bryant in 00-02 playoffs: 25.3/5.7/4.9 on 53% TS Scottie Pippen in 96-98 playoffs: 17.6/7.4/5.0 on 50% TS But MJ can't win without Pippen, and Kobe got carried by Shaq. Kobe was also arguably even more productive than first 3-peat Pippen (20.3/8.2/6.1 on 54% TS), and that's including Kobe's non-elite 00 season. If we included 03 Kobe instead of 00, the numbers wouldn't even be close

Many thanks for watching 🙏. And I agree. Kobe and Shaq not breaking up is one of all time great “would have, could haves” in NBA history. Along with, I agree with you, Jordan had he not retired for the year and a half in his early 30s and then played the 99 strike shortened season and 2000. Hypothetically they would have played young Duncan and THEN this Kobe Shaq team. Of course they’d have a different coach as Phil was out in Chicago and the the lakers. That would have been the most juicy storyline in NBA history. If Jordan and his bulls played Shaq, Kobe and Phil in the 2000 finals. Thanks again for watching, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel 🙏

@@skap_attack You got it. One more thing to think about with Chicago...how would Scottie's back have held up? MJ had to turn it on even more against Utah because of SP's back which was rapidly giving out at a moment's notice. Michael was exhausted after that series, yet having to go at it even harder the next year would have proven difficult. And then to most likely face SA with their rookie out of Wake Forest? Maybe everything happens for a reason, as they say.
@skap_attack
@skap_attack 11 ай бұрын
@@jonnuanez7183 yeah. Honestly and the defensive capabilities of San Antonio with Robinson and Duncan. I don’t think the bulls win that series honestly. Tho, in fairness, I think pippen is gone and the bulls have retooled in some way. So Jordan likely would have had something different to work with than what they looked like in 1998…. Another good “what if” involving Kobe that I often ponder is if he never was traded from charlotte. The WEAK ass eastern conference that Lebron got to feast on for 15 years could have been Kobe’s. And he could have had the freedom to lead a team from a very young age. Have a team built around him from the start of his career instead of fitting himself into a team with Shaq THEN going through a full rebuild in his absolute prime. Who knows how many he wins, but I would expect he would have gotten to at least 6 or 7 still the way they conference was built. And can you imagine young Kobe with a bad team just trying to average 35 every year. Would have been fun. But as you said, perhaps everything happens for a reason…

This channel is gonna grow daily man. Keep producing content like this. The media or “LeMedia” has to have an opposite. The law of polarity states this clearly. All of these paid goons in the media constantly spread propaganda about lebron. Belittling lebrons teamates and his competition. Diminishing Kobe’s legacy and of course Jordan’s legacy. You should do a video about the 2008 Olympics and how no one in the media talked about how Kobe was the undisputed leader and alpha on the team. With “king” James on it of course. Only took Ls before that year

It was a challenging video for me to make, as I have nothing but love for Shaq. Especially as he and Kobe rekindle before Kob’s tragic passing. But I felt the video had to be made from Kobe’s perspective as the hero of the story. I grew up in that era. From 2000-2010, Kobe was as good in that decade as any other player in any decade ever aside from Mike. I really believe that. Didn’t win the MVPs because the media hated him. As for these two as duo, best tandem ever. Kobe was the best perimeter player alive and in prime. Shaq was the best front court player alive and in prime. Never been done before. Likely won’t ever again.

Kobe took a leap that year they won the title. Shaq took a leap. It's almost like Phil Jackson had something to do with it... When Phil got the big job in Chicago, Jordan at that time was a scoring machine and seen by many as the league's best but also as a guy who didn't know how to win the big one. Phil's second ever season as a head coach and it's the start of a threepete. And he gets another one then quits the Bulls. Two years later he goes to LA. Shaq at that time was a scoring machine and seen by many as the league's best but also as a guy who didn't know how to win the big one. Phil's first season back in the coaches chair was the start of another threepete. Kobe wasn't the reason Shaq won, Phil was. Phil's cheat code triangle offence and his ability to get larger than life megastars to put their ego's aside and buy into his team philosophy made legends out of Jordan and Shaq. Honestly I have never seen an NBA player as good as Shaq was in those three finals MVP years. He was simply unstoppable. Better than Jordan was for either of his threepetes. Obviously not better career vs career but in my eyes from 2000-2003 Shaq may have been The GOAT of basketball. Also this guy is being intentionally misleading by showing their averages across 5 finals to argue that Shaq didn't carry Kobe to those three rings. If you just go by the three finals where they won the stat's are as follows; Shaquille O'Neal: 35.9 PPG, 15.2 RPG, 3.5 APG on 59.5% shooting Kobe Bryant: 22.0 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 5.1 APG on 42.5% shooting Shaq was without question the man in those finals.

They debate MJ vs Lebron at EVERY opportunity they get as if it's gospel that they're the 2 at the top. MJ is #1, but when the f*** did Lebron pass Kobe? THANK YOU. THANK YOU. Not every one is a mindless zombie that can be programmed by media. Kobe Bean Bryant is a stud. Lebron never wanted the smoke from him. Real ones know. I watched the black mamba play and I promise you till today I've never seen ANYTHING like it. These boys nowadays think they're sweet, they're little children. They love to talk how Kobe was "carried", but don't count all the HOFers Lebron has run to team up with over the years to win cupcake rings. The same people call KD a cupcake for joining GSW. They forget that a certain "King" set that precedent. Shaq needs to speak up more when these dumb debates come up. I get upset everytime they leave out Kob. If I didn’t know any better, I would think I wrote this comment myself with some kind of a burner account 😂. You sound EXACTLY like me. The same EXACT shit I’ve been ranting about for 20 years. It goes without saying, I of course agree with you. I can see a case for Jordan, Kareem and Russell above Kobe. That’s legitimately it. And while due to resume, I would likely have Kareem at 2, I’ll take Kobe in my third spot all time. And if we’re talking about simply “eye test”. Or how complete a player was. Or what the peak was, I only have Jordan above Kobe. And even that is WAAAY closer than anyone cares to discuss or admit. One of the reasons I go at Lebron so much is because I’m so fed up with the lie that he “easily cleared” Kobe years ago. I’ve been watching ALL of those years, Lebron NEVER cleared Kobe. Mentioning that Shaquille O’Neal was swept seems like an attempt to imply that he is the reason for his team losing each time. I remember those 1990s Lakers teams that were coached by Dell Harris. He was a terrible coach and could not recognize the talent he had on his roster, nor figure ways to put them in the best position to win. This is why Phil Jackson was brought in, Which turned out to be the right move.

Imagine averaging 29 points and 13 rebounds but only being selected All-NBA third team!! 😲 That era of bigs was on an entirely different level. 2001 Kobe was goated, I really think if you replace Shaq with a starter quality big the Lakers with their elite three and D lineups could've still won against the Sixers. Kobe struggled in game 1 but when you examine the series, Kobe was just as good if not better overall than Iverson was, especially when you factor in defensive impact and efficiency.

@@QuestionEverything562 You talking about me?? In the 2001 finals when comparing Iverson and Kobe: - Kobe was more efficient from three - Kobe was more efficient from the field - Kobe was the far superior free throw shooter - Kobe averaged more rebounds - Kobe averaged more assists - Kobe averaged far more stocks (Steals + blocks) - Kobe was the far superior defender - Kobe averaged nearly 25 PPG on roughly 11 less shot attempts per game than Iverson, without Shaq there Kobe has more ease to the basket and easily averages 32+ for the series just on added volume alone. That's not even getting into the fact that Fisher and Lue gave Iverson all sorts of trouble and that the Lakers shot nearly 40% from three in the 2001 playoffs. The series would go slightly longer, but the Lakers were the superior team even if Shaq was replaced with a starter quality big. The Lakers instantly become a far better free throw shooting team with Shaq gone. I'm not saying Kobe was superior to Shaq at this time, I'm saying the 2001 Lakers were one of the Greatest teams ever, if not the greatest and Kobe was the better offensive player and defensive player compared to Iverson in that series, despite getting off to a poor start in game 1. To make it simple, Kobe was a more efficient version of Iverson this series but with far better playmaking and worlds better defense. The added offensive firepower from the additional lakers cast would prove too much for a largely offensively inept Sixers squad. I didn't really feel like explaining all this, but yeah. 2001 Kobe is one of the greatest playoff performers of all time, but somehow gets very heavily disrespected by fans who aren't familiar with his career.

Kobe struggled in that series offensively at times, Shaq didn't. Kobe would have lost that series without Shaq. You have no idea what Shaq did in that series, nor how the 76ers had no answer for his dominance despite their entire defensive game plan designed around Shaq, not Kobe. Kobe struggled offensively in that series with Eric Snow's physicality on him. You put up all those numbers in juxtaposition to Iverson's who was an inefficient high volume chucker. Kobe put up 41% FG% with SHAQ on his team! Imagine if Shaq wasn't there, imagine the 76ers entire defensive gameplan was on Kobe then.... It’s mind-boggling to me that anybody can call Lebron the GOAT when, over the course of twenty seasons, he just BARELY won two consecutive Championships once, on a stacked super team with two other superstars and HOF role players, needing arguably the greatest (and most miraculous) shot in NBA history to make it happen. MJ three-peated twice with less help while playing in an era with more all-time great teams and players, and Kobe did it with only one other superstar on his team in a loaded Western Conference. Having Lebron as the GOAT is the ultimate clown take. 😂😂

Yes, YES, YESSS 🛎️💯. Like people watching him just yelling eye test to the mountain tops. Same as people watching Aaron Rodgers in football saying “he does everything better than Brady”. But what about the MOST important thing? If Lebron IS really the goat, he would have won more than 4 titles in TWENTY YEARS! And it’s not like he had unbeatable competition and shit teams. He was playing weak comp by and large with STACKED teams. This is EASY math and it’s not adding up. Never did.

@NoNameSubliminals 11 ай бұрын
@@skap_attack Ya, and in Lebron’s case I think it’s even more ridiculous than in Rodgers’s case, just because a QB can only do so much to influence the game at the end of the day. Rodgers and Brees caught some bad breaks (Brees especially) where their team’s defenses completely folded and allowed some miracle play. A QB can do more to influence the game than a star positional player in baseball (Bonds and Trout being prime examples), but there isn’t a single team sport where the failure of a team falls more squarely on the star player(s) than basketball. It’s utterly absurd to pretend like Lebron had less help on the Heat than Kobe had on the Lakers. Plus they both played under all-time great coaches, so that variable goes out the window. Sure, prime Shaq was better than Big 3 Wade, but Shaq+Derek Fisher

Aside from the documentary style cadence, the interjecting roasting clips are hilarious! “Tell me how my ass taste!” 😂 Bro, no man should utter those words.

I'm so glad I get to hear LeBron in interviews, otherwise, I would have never known his greatness and goat status.

Shaq and Kobe complimented each other during the 3 peat. Shaq was the 3 times finals mvp. End of debate. Shaq was out of his prime after the Miami title. Bryant found Gasol and they complimented each other,' that's why the Lakers won two more.

The (Le)Media has been making a clear, conscious effort to diminish Kobe's legacy since he retired and upped the ante when he passed away. It's disgusting how aports talk has just devolved from actual analysis to corporate-inspired narratives, personal biases and straight up lies... absolutely embarrassing and degrading to the sport and culture of basketball.

Michael Jordan never gets any flack for playing alongside fellow Hall of Famer’s, Dennis, Rodman and Scottie Pippen, and being coached by Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson. It doesn’t make sense to try to diminish Kobe‘s greatness by mentioning that Shaquille O’Neal was his teammate. There are 15 spots on an NBA roster. Obviously, players have to have teammates, or else it wouldn’t be a team

LoL. I remember Shaq saying Penny was already great when he arrived in the NBA while Kobe took awhile to be great. That's when I realized Shaq carried the "already great" Penny Hardaway to a championship ring. Also Lebron's rings and the bums that he "carried": 1. DWade 2. Ray Allen 3. Kyrie 4. What I’ve noticed is that with Kobe you either VASTLY overrate him or you VASTLY underrate him there’s no in between, Kobe is an all time great that is a top 6 player all time realistically, if you have him above 5 or below 7 then you’re either overrating or underrating him and that’s it, he played with Shaq sure but he also won as the man twice.

I can see him as high as 3 actually and as low as 7. He’s on my Rushmore.
