I still don't understand something, will the v3 ride better and outlast the v2 and v1 or is the difference just more flexibility? I know the v1 only option is height but will it ride worse than the v2 and v3 at the same height?

The only thing about the "truth" of KW that you missed to mention, how do they compare to the competition? Seriously, how do they compare to öhlins coilovers? Yes, I know that they make a great product based on the reviews on other sites, but it would be great to hear about the "truth" in a comparison with other leading brands.

How's the comfort?
@boboutelama57484 жыл бұрын
@Piotr Mowka @MWAclanGaming Hello, I have the K&W V3 since 3 weeks now. Car is Lexus IS300 mk1. Obviously, I lack experience and any advice of me should be taken with all the grains of salt necessary. My pals in my teenage times did tuning, but they putted cheap things that you can find in our remote area, like Bilstein coils and so. But I can compare it to my original Lexus IS300 damper, that seems to be a special Tein specifically made for Lexus (green coating is very typical). The original Lexus suspension where strongly oriented in direction of comfort, the K&W V3 helped a lot to not loose this comfort in a significant way. With no surprise, in the "standard installation setting", the car runs smooth over imperfections, but doesn't sag when turning. In the orig setting, it has always a form of elasticity that can be felt in the behavior of the car, it's not crashy, it's not race-car like. For those who know, the standard "from factory" setup is a lot like the Ferrari factory setting. It remember me a lot of the Ferrari F360 Modena, that had this kind of gentle but then furious and solid behavior. The Audi R8 also behaves a little bit like this. The much cheaper Bilstein coils of my teenage times where feeling 200 times more crashy than that, they had sometimes problems to follow the complexity of the road. The coilovers are lower by default in regard to the oem. Even if I would not want to lower my car, I would loose 2 centimeters. For the Lexus, I would nor go lower than 2.8cm, it's what I did, but I am at the absolute limit of beeing so low that it becomes a handicap. 2.5 / 2.8 cm should be a good goal to aim. Car is lowered but the usability of this setting stays great. The low weight wheels paired to those coilovers are extremely unforgiving. You feel the road more through the steering and the car reacts faster. The Is300 already had a very direct driving response, but it was fastened a bit with this installation, that means that we are near race-car territory. What has become evident, is that you can rund much more at the point of rotation and play with it. With the original suspensions, the car tend to go into understeer and you needed to play with the wheel and subtle smash of the gas for oversteering. With this setting, I need to brake less and the car will stay in an in-between position between under and oversteer, waiting for my signal of what need to be done. I feel that to be a very safe behavior. On the modern european K&W V3, they have dropped the low and fast rebound and compression settings. You have standard independant compression and rebound settings. But they have bettered the cooling of the coilover, adding an external tank along the coil. I already tested the car on several mountain roads, during half day runs, and they are fantastic for their endurance (spots : St-Cergue Uphill, Tremola Passstrasse, Les enfers / St-Ursanne, Jaunpass). I must underline that I will vey probably play much more with this setting. For the moment, the tail is very very planted for me, especially on little mountain roads, I need it to be a little bit more jumpy/slidy and break loose more often, this helps the car to rotate faster. For the moment, I have too much grip at the back. :-)
