I am shocked you guys did not talk much at all about there warranty. The one super insane thing about raceland is the warranty they have and the fact that they really stand behind it. I have blow out front coils on my GTI. Sent them pictures and the stamping on the shock and they sent out a new pair for not even a penny. Shipping even covered.

Being that racelands don't come with top hats or strut mounts, when I was 16 and had them on my 98 civic, my strut mount blew out and I didn't understand at the time that it had nothing to do with the raceland component. I shot them an angry email and they replied an hour later describing to me the scenerio and how it wasn't their product and how it could be fixed, and followed that up by saying that they would replace the coilovers if I really wanted them to, free of charge, despite the fact that the coilovers were still perfectly intact.

They worked surprisingly well. I replaced them with BCs because I have run them since 2010 on several cars and never had an issue and absolutely loved them. As for RL they did what they were supposed to got beat on and kept on kicking until I took them off and sold them. Last I checked they are still kickin it on another drift car.

I've been on raceland bags for a year and no complaints, I've had their coilovers before in highschool with no complaints, lil bumpy sometimes but better then any other coilover in the 400-600 range, I've never heard anything bad from them in the vw world, most volkswagens run raceland anyways. I read that they use NOK brand valving and assemble everything in house. I also know that they make the cheapo brand rokkor you see on ebay and amazon. Raceland is good beginner, oem grade/ replacement upgrade to get you low and reliable. I know a few people that have had them 50k-to almost 100k.

I ran them on my 2009 VW Rabbit. I'll admit the rear shock lower bushings failed while under warranty but that's also how I found out how great their service is. Fast responses and shipping of replacement part and also don't ask for the failed part to be returned. Now I'm on Neo Motorsports which are a Canadian brand that are quickly growing and have a really nice product for a mid level price, at least imo.

I need to replace the rear shocks for an '03 Focus ZX3 and stumbled across this video. It's funny because I was just on the Raceland website and saw the price and wanted to investigate further. I don't need anything track-worthy. I just need some new, safer units and I've long wanted to lower the car an inch or two mostly for aesthetics...without a lot of hassle or spending through the nose. I was skeptical of this video and initially thought it was a long-winded stealth ad for Raceland until I saw that Fitment is actually a competitor. I truly appreciate the honest evaluation. We could use more of that these days. Liked and Subscribed (incl. bell).

Raceland is a great product, people are just having too high of expectations, they are good enough to track on performance wise but comfortable enough to daily. You arent going to get 2 thousand dollar coilover quality with camber plates and 60 way adjustable dampening out of a 400 dollar set of coilovers but i will say they are on par with 800 to 1000 dollar brands i have come across especially the ones with adjustable dampening. Also they provide you a lifetime warranty that INCLUDES normal shock wear so you pretty much never need to buy another set again unless you change vehicles. I have not seen one other brand with this kind of warranty yet. I havent even had to use it in a year and a half.

I've driven a LOT of different BRZ suspension setups (racelands, bc, isc, Bilstein, kw V1, v3, rce t0, t2, Ohlins r&t, dual valve, tien z flex, a flex, Megan's, etc etc etc). Suspension is a whole different ball game than wheels. There is much more than just "they look good and don't fracture when loaded". Good suspension is +$5k (JRZ, AST, Mortin, Ohlins dual valve, Penske, etc). Mid range stuff is $2-3k (Ohlins R&T, KW V3, RCE T2, etc). Entry level is $1500-2k (KW V1, RCE T0, Fortune Auto, Bilstein B16, etc). Any less than that is almost garenteed to ride worse and handle worse than your stock suspension. Even most of the Entry level stuff is out-classed by aftermarket springs and dampers (Bilstein, koni, etc). Suspension is a black art and everything I've driven not from one of the big boys has been awful. If you just want to slam your car and you never have to commute in it and don't plan on racing, you'll love racelands. Otherwise, just don't.
@350Z2476 жыл бұрын
You're crazy if you think Fortune Auto is an "entry level" company. For any serious corner carving, I'd take a perfectly set-up 510 over a KW V3 any day. As far as coilovers like Raceland go, it's not hard at all to make a fixed rate damper that is valved to a single spring rate. It won't be the best thing since sliced bread, but at least it is valved for the spring that comes with it. It's hard to properly combine after market springs and dampers unless you plan to have the shocks revalved.

This fantastic well meaning video is contradictory to my experience with Raceland Europe based in Northern Ireland. I got the t230's for 7th gen Toyota Celica, there were extra hidden costs in additional hard wear required to fit the coilovers that the sales rep assured me I can just use the stock parts, warranty states must be fitted by a professional so that was a cost factor too. There were some simple queries regarding the install that resulted in Raceland hanging up and refusing to communicate with me, even when they did communicate prior to this it took days for canned answers. They then decided it would be o.k to communicate through facebook which they then later blocked, again leaving me unable to arrange the return or come to any reasonable result. I had been very patient with Raceland even though the ordeal left me unable to get to work or take my Mum to her hospital appointments. My experience is with Raceland Europe based in Coleraine in Northern Ireland.

Raceland is doing what I’ve always think of. If I can create good quality car parts, why not sale them cheaper so everyone can buy them?? On pricing you missed a step, man. Manufacturers in auto industry typically sell to large distributors, automotive suppliers, not end sellers, i.e. retail stores. Distributors mark the product up and then sells it to the retail stores that sells it to us, the end user. The retailers also have to mark the product up in order to make a profit and that's why factory direct sales can be so much cheaper, they cut out both the distributor AND the retail stores from the distribution channel.

Technically speaking, "Raceland" is the dealer for a Chinese manufacturer. And, its a manufacturer that has many other popular "dealers" in the United States (ex. Function&Form, D2, K-Sport, Rokkor, and several others.) And, for anyone wanting a definitive difference between a cheap, Chinese coilover and one that has better product development... look no further then a Shock Dyno. It'll easily point out the flaws in the dampening ability for you. While these brands (much like XXR) are exceedingly popular, its rare to ever see someone continue to use them when exiting the "initial stages of tuning" and becoming more serious about their automobile.

For what you pay for suspension replacement from a wrecking yard in comparison these are great if your shocks are dead these are better then stock

i have a set of raceland coilovers on my 04 wrx been running them for about 8 months now. i like em havent had any major problems either for the price they really cant be beat. i drive pretty aggressive on them i did have to call customer service once because the top bolt hole is slotted so you can run more camber and i didnt tighten the bolt down to torque spec so they kept sliding around but once i called about it they told me to tighten them to torque spec and i haven't had any trouble since

Ran them on my daily Miata for 4 years. Never had an issue with them other than the dust accordion thing tearing right away. Just don’t be dumb and take out the helper spring and they should last you. I drove on mine reasonably hard but never tracked them.

Thanks for the information on raceland. I was looking at them because of the lifetime warranty, and the price is better than eBay coilovers. I just need something to replace blown out oem struts, and for some reason, oem struts are the same price as the coilovers. Ordering a set today New years even 2024. Let's go into 2025 alive. Make 2025 1998 every weekend. If you had a car, you were out on your local main street, fast cars, loud music, and the smell of hydronic fluid burning during low rider hope offs. 😢 I miss those days. I want to bring them back...

I know you have already done a Raceland suspension video, but would it be possible to compare the new Rev 9 suspension company, Godspeed, and Raceland and rank them 1 through 3 to help those of us out that aren’t sure which ones to go with if they’re on the very budget and new side when it comes to building their car? Thanks!

Yesterday I've bought my first set of coilovers. And its a Raceland ones. Since my budget ir low, i bought them used (full set for only 20 euros (~22$)). I hope they act well :D

I live in the rust belt. I know that if I run coilovers, the salt will ruin them and make them non-adjustable. Does it make sense to buy a cheap set with a good warranty? Worse case scenario, I have to buy another $400 set of coilovers. Hmm. Why did I not think of this until now?
@nizzeeeee27615 жыл бұрын
Rust is not that bad problem that you could not run quality coils. Protect adjustment screws(electric tape etc),and if you live in areas where everything rusts,there possibly is that time of year when you have to use winter tires,when you swap them remember to lube your adjustment threads.

I had raceland coilovers on my 08 civic si. They dropped the car super low and the ride was still alright. But the top plate on my rear passenger side coilover was broken. And I tried to contact raceland to get a replacement part and they basically told me to buy a whole new set of coilovers.. mine were only a year old and they fucking broke. I didn't mind the product.. until it broke.. then the customer service was absolute garbage!
