But on 2k he's a 99, and on ESPN he dunks a lot right? That's what Young cats base it on apparently. Nobody claiming Steph is as good as MJ and he's been eating LeBumm's food for a decade. @@damonlillard3097 I'm going to reply only to the last part because I think it epitomizes the general bias against LeBron in NBA culture. Yes, LeBron has lost a lot, but he has also played more winning basketball than almost every player in history. He literally has won the most playoff series of all time, he has won the second most finals MVPs of all time, and he has one of the highest playoff win rates of all legends. He beat the winningest regular season team in the history of the game while averaging 36-12-10-3-3 over 3 elimination games to secure a comeback that was never made in the finals before or since (to say nothing of the anomaly that was leading both teams in all 5 major stat categories, which has never been done elsewhere, let alone in a 7-game NBA finals), he led the only team that could beat the Spurs in the finals, he averaged 35 points in his first ever playoff series and almost made the conference finals against the team that made the finals the previous year, he made the conference finals a whole 17 years later while still playing at a high level despite his injury, he fell short of playing ball "into June" (making the finals) a mere 1 time in a span of 10 years . . . The list of feats goes on. I've become a fan of LeBron in his Laker years, and even I am not jumping up and down over 8 consecutive finals appearances, but what makes it impressive is not really the number, but the fact that LeBron-led teams, even though they were the favorites to win the conference, were not prone to being upset even once in that span. He went to 4 game 7s and came out on top every time. He won both his game 7s in the NBA finals, which I think isn't talked about enough. Heck, he hasn't lost in a game 7 since 2008 despite playing in 6 of them after that year. Is that not the pedigree you expect only from a winner? The only thing you can possibly be referring to in calling LeBron a "loser" in basketball is his finals record. 4-6, right? Go pick on Elgin Baylor and his 0-7 record then. If you bring up one individual series like 2011 finals, what are we doing, basing his entire legacy/narrative on one series then? What about the finals series in which his teams were completely outmatched? Do you expect him to lose _before_ the finals in order to shield his precious finals record from all-time great teams like the Spurs and Warriors? We could nitpick similar things with Kobe Bryant, a player who is generally seen as a "winner" despite only having one more ring than LeBron in the same number of seasons and being the second best player on his own team for the majority of his finals appearances. Hardly anyone critiques his losses in the first round, losing twice in a row to a Suns team that never could even make the finals, including a blown 3-1 lead in which Kobe took 3 shots in the 2nd half of game 7. Hardly anyone remembers that he took 30 more FGA in a 5-game finals than Shaq and _still_ scored fewer points. Hardly anyone remembers how badly he performed in the 2008 elimination game vs. the Celtics, shooting 7-22 with 4 turnovers and a -35 +/-. Even still, he is revered as one of the greatest winners in league history. Imagine if LeBron had the luxury of being the second best player on 4 of his finals squads . . .

Larry Hughes was not a bad offensive player. He put up solid offensive numbers, could facilitate the offense, guard multiple positions and was hampered by injuries and personal matters during his stint in Cleveland. When he played well they were a very tough team to beat. Please note his brother Justin who was his inspiration died during the 06 playoff campaign and he was hurt during the 07 playoff campaign and finals run. I would argue that a healthy and productive Hughes with James playing on the level that he played in 07 could have won 1/2 games versus the Spurs.

To put this in perspective, Rasheed Wallace averaged 15pts, 7rebs, & 1.5blks on 44% shooting. I love this video. It just shows how shitty Cleveland Cavalier Box Office is. Lebron had the worst of any superstar that I know. Jordan had similar thing in the beginning with Bulls but the difference was Bulls were smart and started getting right players by draft and other means. They set up a system that allowed Jordan to succeed. However Jordan had to face a tougher conference as East was stronger than the West but he was eventually able to get great players and team was able to improve enough for him to win championships. Lebron on the other hand was just unlucky. That CAVS was horrible. Honestly never should have come back to CAVS. He should have stayed with Miami Heat all throughout.

Lebron only wanted to play Point Forward because he has no post game, no midrange, can't move without the ball, can't shoot clutch from distance, etc. Players were not utilized to their full potential with Lebron because he was a one trick pony.

@Gabriel-sh3ms
@Gabriel-sh3ms Жыл бұрын
no he didnt. 2011, 2015, 2018 were not cakewalks. 2011 : 56-26 Celtics with 4 all stars THAT SEASON and had just went to game 7 of the finals. 62-20 Bulls with MVP Rose and the number one defense in the league and best overall record. Not a cakewalk 2015 : 50-32 Bulls with 3 all stars THAT YEAR (Butler, Rose and Gasol). Cavs were 52-30 with NO kevin love and a clearly hobbled Kyrie. Also no JR SMith for 2 of those games due to a suspension. THen, 60-22 Hawks with 4 all stars THAT YEAR. Again the 52-30 cavs with no kevin love except this time no Kyrie for HALF the series. Lebron still sweeps them. Not a cakewalk 2018 : 59-23 Raptors vs a 50-32 Cavs team. Raptors are clearly favoured yet Lebron sweeps them. Then the 56-26 Celtics, with the no.1 Defense in the league. beats them in 7 despite his second best scoring teammate averaging 12 points 2012 also wasnt a cakewalk due to the fact that Bosh was injured for the entire 2nd Round and majority of the Boston series but overall those teams werent great so whatever Ill give that to you 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 were cakewalks DESPITE the cavs facing some teams that had greater records than them but whatever they were generally cakewalks
@roboninja3194
@roboninja3194 Жыл бұрын
@@Gabriel-sh3ms Are you serious saying 2018 wasn't a cakewalk? Cavs played the Celtics in the ECF and Kyrie was out for the Celtics and Tatum was a rookie with JB being a 2nd yr player. The Raptors were a joke. One player, Demar, averaged 20 ppg and no one else on the team averaged that many ppg, no one averaged 10 rebounds per game and no one averaged 7 assists on that team. The Raptors had proven they were incapable of beating the Cavs in a playoff series so the Raptors being favored is completely meaningless. This is why lebron fans are despised. If you actually watched basketball everyone knew that Raptors team wasn't winning shit in the playoffs. Celtics #1 defense means nothing when missing key players. Also it's interesting how you left out the Cavs 1st round opponent which was the Pacers. Only a casual thinks the Pacers, a weak Raptors team, and a Celtics team full of young guys and missing their best player was some insanely tough playoff run. And you're somehow saying the 2011 Heat, a super team, had a hard road to the finals? 😂😂😂So delusional. Btw Derrick Rose in 2015 was not the same player and you know it. Stop it bro. That Hawks team was a deeply flawed team. Doesn't matter how many all stars they had. Those of us who actually watched the games know that Hawks team was never winning the chip because they were flawed. Btw I'll leave this little nugget for you. Lebron has faced a 50+ win team in the playoffs only 43% pf the time. Jordan faced 50+ win teams in the playoffs 63% pf the time and Kobe was 74% of the time. Lebron has had an easier time especially while being in the east. And it's totally ridiculous to say the Heat and Cavs super teams had a hard time in the playoffs from 2011 to 2018. Take that man's meat out yo mouth.

You also over glorified the Orlando and Boston teams that they lost to as virtually unbeatable when Kobe and his Lakers beat those same teams. Agree w/ most(80%) of what was said in this Video. The main issue here is that "The East was Weak" during Lebrons first stint in CLE. Between 2004-2010, 3 of the 7 eventual NBA Champions came from the Eastern Conference(DET, MIA, BOS). And during those 7 Seasons, The 4 titles won by the Western Conference were only won by a Total of 2 Teams(SAS, LAL). Also there's nothing weak about a team that wins 60+ games in back to back seasons(CLE 09, 10) w/ the back to back MVP.

The East was much weaker than the Western Conference. It's not even debatable. Check the All-NBA teams during that period. Nearly 70% of the best players in the league were in the Western Conference. You also cherry-picked three seasons in which the East won, but the conference was extremely top heavy. In 2004, The Pacers and the Pistons were the only two teams to finish the season with at least 50-wins. No other EC team won more than 47 games and that was the mediocre Nets (they made consecutive finals in 2002 & 2003 led by Kidd and their defense). There were 6 such teams in the West and 13 of the top 20 teams in the league were Western Conference teams. In 2005 the East was slightly better, but as with 2004 only two teams finished with at least 50 wins. The West again had 6 as the Nuggets finished the season with 49 wins. The rest of those EC teams were just slightly above average to good teams (Heat & Pistons were top dogs). In 2006 there were more 60-win teams so obviously there will be fewer 50-win teams overall. However, this was the first year during the 2000s where we can say that the East was more competitive, but it's really just the top teams in the conference feasting on the mid to garbage EC teams. 7 teams in the East finished with 35 or fewer wins. 3 teams finished with 41 or fewer wins. 67% of the conference didn't even have a winning record!!! I can finish out the remainder of the decade, but you get the point(?). Now here's some homework for you; tell me about the overall record for West vs East regular season for the 2000s decade & EC win%. I'll give you a hint...It's not over 40% 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kobe also played in the triangle with a little more help so he didn't need to do as much, but he could take over when needed unlike anyone else. He didn't need to average 30+ or play as many minutes as Lebron. It was close but I'd pick Kobe in 09 and 10. Lebron also didn't have the championship experience like Kobe.

Carlos Boozer was supposed to resign with the Cavs. He reneged on that agreement, which was technically against the CBA. Boozer actually came out years later and said he needed to take the Utah deal, or the Cavs would've been hit with tampering. Therefore, he was obviously lying about there not being an understanding on resigning with the Cavs. I don't blame him for taking the bag though. He was a 2nd round pick, and he had to secure those funds by any means necessary! Also, I've been telling people this for years -- LeBron's problem is that he plays too much on the ball. Like Westbrook, Harden, & Luka, that heliocentric offense WILL NOT consistently win. Yeah, you can win regular season games, but it won't work in the postseason. Wilt Chamberlain couldn't do it, Big O couldn't do it, and Jordan couldn't do it. What makes these guys think they can break that mold? Their teammates are often relegated to being spot up shooters. Look at how Hedo's performance in the 2009 ECF was phrased for example compared to Mo Williams. They both shot like crap from the field, but for Turk, you made sure to point out that he was great from behind the arc, meanwhile completely ignoring that Mo was nearly as efficient from deep at 38%. 41% of his shots were threes (by comparison 28% of Hedo's shots where threes). Mo wasn't an elite playmaker, but like all PGs who play with LeBron, they become the de facto SGs (or combo) guards of their teams because he has to play on the ball so much.

The takeaway for me is that the Spurs and Warriors systems were just simply better systems and that team-oriented systems win more often than not. Plus, building through the draft gives franchises more money to deepen the bench in free agency. LeBron's handselected superteams created through free agency or trades were so top-heavy that the budget to add depth was limited. The Warriors' depth deteriorated in the years after KD joined because his salary took up so much of the budget.

As great as his career was, I think he woulda done much better quicker if he took his time and went to college first (like Jordan, Kareem, Magic, Bird, etc.). Instead, he had to learn to grow up quickly and lead a losing team to a title at the same time. I think it was too much and too early for him, for any teenager.When he went to Miami, playing with Wade taught him how to lead a team successfully and you can tell he had matured significantly.
