I live ex-JA for almost 40 years. When I was leaving my heart was so heavy. This was a place that had given me life & growth. Now I was divorcing, abandoning it for an unknown. For the 1st year after leaving. I was overwhelmed with nostalgia; just wanted to return - this invisible pull. As the years went by, the feeling lessened; but the great childhood & young adulthood memories were already imprinted - indebile. Thanks bunches!?

I completely agree with Shawn. As a Jamaican born that left Jamaica as a young child I was terrified of most places in Jamaica, especially after a very traumatic experience. Watching your videos changed my mindset and had me eager to see more of Jamaica through your lenses. I began making a list of all the places I wanted to visit every time I watched one of your videos. Another plus, I have learned so much about my country and seen the beauty that have me yearning to move home. Many of the people in prison who a seen as an abusers many were abused themselves and they do need help. Some in prison end up there because of course wrong decisions. I love your vision, I just started a non profit here in the US focusing on mentoring the youths in my county especially those who are homeless. Don't give up on the vision God as given you. Definitely understand lol. I always had long hair growing up in Jamaica but my Mom used to comb my hair so transition to high school and my Mom gradually stop doing my hair so the only thing I knew was put it one and then one year I cut a bang got tired of it and got my cousin to put a relaxer in my hair at 15 it was so strong that it cut some of my hair in the back lol. Then we migrated to the US a little after that, good thing with my hair type I didn't have to get relaxers that often eventually I cut it off too and had to learn all over how to do my natural hair as a grown up good thing though around then there were good products on the market for black, curly hair. Now I have locs much more manageable. I believe I started watching ypu for Jamaican content. I was a Finance Major too wanted to wirk on Wall Street. I was always fascinated with the stock market ended up in Mortgage on the Operations side.

Jamaica family systems is not different from the USA. The ghettos and low income areas have a lot of baby mamas and baby daddies and the rich people get married . The rich people may get divorced and therefore still end up being single mother. decades ago people lived with extended families, not so much anymore.

Rocheilin sounds like a social worker at heart. Some social workers specialize in clinical social work and become psychotherapists and are able to treat and diagnose mental illnesses ( LCSW: licenced clinical social worker). However, they are also able to do community social work: the things you are describing , they know how to influence social policies at both the micro and macro levels and are able to positively influence peoples lives at both the micro and macro levels. Their training and education equips them with the skills, education, and training needed to do so. It sounds to me you are a social worker at heart. The field of social work is a calling
