In this video, we reveal the truth about male pattern baldness, finasteride and blocking DHT. We go in-depth into scalp tension, and how scalp tension also plays a critical role in losing hair.
Transcription:
In this video I’m going to explain why the unusual case of Sadhu’s arm can help us understand a fundamental truth about the real underlying cause of male pattern baldness.
It’s a truth that any pharmaceutical company selling hair loss drugs would rather you didn’t know.
But before I go into that, I first want to explain a little more about the background science of male pattern baldness.
So let me start with a question...
Did you ever wonder why there is a 'pattern' in Male Pattern Baldness?
It's funny to think, but there's a very specific and scientific reason that our hair starts receding and thinning at the front first and then progressing in this specific m-shaped pattern.
This is known as the The Hamilton-Norwood scale and uses a numbering system to assign specific stages of hair loss to men suffering with ‘androgenetic alopecia’ or male pattern baldness.
You can probably see what number you’re at by looking at this image...
Men with male pattern baldness typically tend to progress through to the next stage every few years unless they manage to do something to stop it.
Okay, back to the pattern thing...
So do you know why hair loss happens in this very specific pattern?
Let me show you.
This image shows the tensile force of the scalp.
The lighter blue colour shows areas of higher scalp tension.
The darker blue shows less scalp tension.
Now take a look at the typical pattern of male pattern baldness, as shown in the Hamilton Norwood scale:
Notice something weird?
The patterns are exactly the same!
Tension in the scalp matches exactly the pattern of hair loss most men experience.
In fact, this isn't weird at all.
Scalp tension and hair loss are directly connected.
Actually, Scalp tension causes male pattern hair loss.
But how are scalp tension and hair loss connected?
Blood flow...
When it comes to healthy hair growth, blood flow is everything.
Your hair needs blood to survive and grow because nutrients, oxygen and growth hormones are
carried in the blood and make up the raw building blocks of the hair follicle…Cont

I always knew this... I noticed my forehead nerves were so tight and skin above forehead was tight and thinner than on the back of my head. Needless to say, front hair thin and back hair young looking and full of blood flow to the back of my head. I reasoned this is because of stress but that's the mechanics of it all... stress...nerve n scalp tension follow...less blood flow...hair thins out and dies off. So I started brushing MY FOREHEAD with a medium strength brush...it looked red in the mirror but I was happy seeing bloodflow..I brushed head down...letting blood flow to my head and brushing above eye brows..up to hair line...but not too strong to damage hair line...and once in a while brush whole head, with strong strokes to the back of my head where more safe and no issues there...head down..to bring more blood flow to face and front scalp... after weeks I started seeing hair growth and thicker hair... if the price is right I'll buy growband too.

Hairloss happens because of reduced blood flow and oxygenation of the hair follicles, and here DHT comes into play as an androgenic hormone, it causes fibrosis in the scalp, learn how to reverse scalp fibrosis and restore hormonal balance, know the reason why even DHT has increased in the scalp ! by visiting my channel..

@@DJYAD19 I'm guessing it's the same reason why your pubes and armpit hairs don't fall out to dht either. The side and back hair is probably less sensitive to dht when compared to the top of your head. Just my logical theory though.
@DJYAD19
@DJYAD19 4 жыл бұрын
@@potxtoe The reason why sides and back hair is less sensitive is because they get often pressure from any platforms, for example when we sleep, we lay our head on pillow with sides and back. Once our heads is laid down for too long, you already notice that the sides and back gets warmed because blodflow circulates on these spots. Thats why hair still growing on these areas. So when we do same pressure on our top of the heads, blodflow increases and therefore hair grows new and remain it. How to do so? For example, if you take one small kilo rice bag and put it on the top of the head while let it sits 10 minutes or more, it starts to get warmed because of increased blodflow. Because the body is tricked as if the top of head is being injured so that it can be healed with blood cells. Therefore the hair gets thicker and also grows new overtime. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it helps alot. I tried it and I can see difference. You dont have to choose small rice bag. You can choose any objects that should be little bit heavy. But not so extreme heavy which can mess up the spine on the neck. Try out

if it was just the scalp tension then hair transplants wouldn't work
@Hairguard
@Hairguard 19 күн бұрын
Hair transplants don't last forever (if the patient isn't taking finasteride) whilst the hairs from the donor area will stay perfectly healthy. Transplanted hairs will start to miniaturise after 5 years or so without preventative treatments. This shows that the position on the scalp is vitally important.

idea: sleep at a downwards angle, or angle your head down somehow whilst sleeping (like having your head hand off the bed to a pillowe lower down a on a table) (or sleep on your stomach with a large pillow under your stomach so your head angles down) Sleeping on your front or side probably helps. Sleeping on your back probably pulls the skin making it tense on the forehead

I have been telling everyone that the only reason why the hairs on the back and side of the head do not fall is because we spend about 8 hrs putting pressure on our head when we sleep. Think about it, when you are sleeping and put your head on the pillow, the head weights about 15 lbs, this creates a pressure point and when you move your head to the side, blood flows in to the place of your head where you had the pressure on. We roll our heads from left, back, and right all night (that is about 8 hrs workout). No wonder the hairs on the back and side of the head look so nice and thick. The hairs on the back and side of the head are getting lots and lots of blood flow for about 8 hrs during the night. I am a weird sleeper. I sleep with my forehead on a pillow and my chest down. Guess what? I have a full hairline on the front, I wonder if the reason is because the pressure I put on my forehead when I sleep is creating blood circulation.
@Scientist_Albert_Einstein
@Scientist_Albert_Einstein 4 жыл бұрын
@rkdhiman 318 I don't know about the spine problems. I am just a weird sleeper, I make an arc shape with my shoulders up when I sleep face down. I put my arms across my chest and very often my arms get numb and I wake up at night. This weird sleep position comes natural to me and you should not try it if it feels uncomfortable to you.

But then wouldnt u grow hair on your forehead and go bald in the back?
@Scientist_Albert_Einstein
@Scientist_Albert_Einstein 4 жыл бұрын
@@env0x I assume if you were to sleep your whole life on the font, then yes you would go bald on the back, but my whole life (im 32 years old) I have slept on the back,sides, and front side of head. Guess what? the only place where I notice thinning of the hair is on the crown. Since I noticed thinning on the crown, I have slept with my chin up facing the ceiling. The first time I tried it, there is a huge influx of blood to the crown and I can feel my heart palpitating on the crown. Try it and you will see what I am talking about. Step by step: 1.- Put your chin facing the ceiling and then place your head on the pillow. 2.- Relax, it helps if you place an arm across your forehead (at least for me it does because I feel less discomfort on my head), but if you can remain in this position, then do whats best for you. 3.- Once you get tired roll your head to the side. 4.- At this point, you will feel a huge blood influx to the crown region and you will feel your heart palpitating. I hope this helps someone.
@env0x
@env0x 4 жыл бұрын
@@Scientist_Albert_Einstein you think you could basically get the same effect if you slept on a slight decline? (Like with the bed titlted, your top half leaning downward)? When i try it like you describe i find it hard to breathe and my neck hurts
@Scientist_Albert_Einstein
@Scientist_Albert_Einstein 4 жыл бұрын
@@env0x I think sleeping with the head slight down could be dangerous to your brain putting too much blood pressure, besides the whole point is to have blood circulation. If you could make a bed that switches between down and up that would solve the problem. Maybe a motorized bed that slowly puts you on a slight incline over 2 minutes then switches back to normal so that blood is circulating. See, when we sleep, we put pressure on our head with the pillow, this pressure drives away the blood where the pressure was applied, but when you roll your head to another position, then blood flows back to the position where the pressure was applied. Thus creating blood circulation.

And another point to this; minoxidil is a known vasodilator (makes the blood veins wider). This is one of the theorised explanations as to why it may help hair grow back a bit. Also, there are treatments where you can get your blood/plasma injected into your scalp to assist in regrow. Both of these are blood related, so I think there is something going on here. It is worth trying all non-drug avenues before committing to taking them, but dont put too much hope in them.

Not just blood circulation but also having the the essential nutrients vitamins and minerals that your hair needs to be strong and healthy as well. I’ve done some extensive research to find that you can also do son protein treatments to the hair like rice water, or using oils such as castor, almond oil, lavender oil, vitamin e oil, jojoba oil, emu oil which also blocks dht as well. I’ve been doing these remedies for a couple months now while also maintaining blood circulation and it’s made a huge difference. My hair is a lot stronger and thicker. If anyone wants to know more about this, I can share some stuff with you that are completely free and easy to do on your own.

Essential oils are great. But you can't use them everyday. I suggest googling "phytoestrogen/antiandrogen herbs". Make yourself a list of about 10 of these herbs, make a homemade water based tonic and use them everyday. It's cheap and more effective than expensive remedies which use the exact same components. Combine this tonic with several drops of camphor oil and menthol. This works for me (i'm female with aga) and for several of my male friends.

to be honest. Nobody knows what the real cause of hair loss is. DHT plays a role but it's not the only culprit. If someone has lost their hair, even castration wouldn't reverse their hair loss. This is why science hasn't cured mpb. Genetics, environmental factors (which is a huge factor), diet, illness and other unknown factors all play a part. The cure for hair loss is not a one pill fits all cure. It's a very complex issue

There is definitely a link. But my only question is: if scalp tension (or if tension on the scalp decreases blood flow) then why is it that when men get hair transplants, the hairs on the places of the head where there was scalp tension stay? I mean the transplanted hairs are going to a region of their head where there was scalp tension, so shouldn’t those transplanted hairs just go away too? Or is it just something about the hairs in the back of the head (the hairs being transplanted)?

If you mix cinnamon powder and au flower oil. Then apply to areas. You will feel such a burn and it'll be red for over an hour. Easier then massaging scalp for 15 or 20 minutes. You wash this off in 10 minutes and blood flow satya over an hour. I've had excellent results in a short time. Do it daily for 10 days and you'll see new stubble like I did
@CHAKASHAKA
@CHAKASHAKA 4 жыл бұрын
@Bhupendra Yadav no heating of Cinnamon.... Just add to sunflower oil for its low comedegenic level 1 which won't clog pores....but if you want to put olive oil it won't hurt you since you'll wash it off in about 12 or 13 minutes..... You don't want to brew cinnamon as the steam will burn your face off in 20 seconds....yes its that powerful. I don't know if it did anything for my dandruff by itself....I applied teas that had many combined benefits and used those as an astringent and dht blocker ...these herbs usually share their ability to be anti bacterial anti inflammatory anti microbial , some anti fungal, and therefore anti dandruff. I haven't seen dandruff or pimples in 3 months...... Peppermint tea....stinging nettle, chamomile, green tea, dried parsley , oregano ...any mix of these will help you eventually rid of dandruff. But remember this can be considered an astringent which means like a sudleas shampoo and if you overuse , then your scalp won't have time to bring out its natural oils when you keep stripping them off with the bacteria so don't do it daily.....google each herb and others by asking "what does blank do for hair growth" and you'll get an education and formula beat for you better then any doctor can give you...also google natural dht blockers in herbs or spices. And Boom. Results better then finasteride for the price of a dollar fifty. There is ayutvedic medicine too bit I won't touch tumeric since Pakistan and bangladeah is putting lead in the mix to give a more orange color and are poisoning us.. So do your homework and you'll have a full head of hair... 1. Scrub dead skin and disinfect with tea wash. 2/stimulate blood flow 3/feed scalp and stomach with herbs. B vitamins. Zinc and other key minerals.... It will shock you PS. Throw out shampoos that have sulfates as it increases dandruff. Look for natural not chemical ingredients!! Good luck
@CHAKASHAKA
@CHAKASHAKA 4 жыл бұрын
@Bhupendra Yadav I'm not a professional , but what I did for myself personally since they are both inexpensive and I wanted big results I made a thick mix and let it sit for a while. It was stickier when left on the fridge. Like a thick paste, maybe ware a rubber glove because it will eventually take your fingerprints off like that. I even put some on my wrinkles and turned crazy red to send collagen there and had temporary but visible results. Try to leave on at least 10 minutes but if your thresh hold of pain is too low or if your mix sat too long and is too potent just wash it off. The temple skin is way more sensitive then the top of your head. And tour facial skin is even more sensitive then that. Do not get it in your eyes and maybe even just use sunflower oil on your scalp from time to time. Twice a week as it will help kill possible bacteria associated with your hair loss. I haven't done anything recently in 5 days and its still growing so maintenance is easier after 2/months. I'm learning as I go...I also scrubbed the hard spots/dead skin on my top of head where it wasn't as sensitive as the rest due to dead akin build up but one time I scrubbed too hard and lost like 40 baby hairs two weeks after I GRE them so be careful. Overall I'm doing extremely well. Google will also tell you which herbs are good and how. Green tea is a dht blocker so use that too topically!! Let me know what you see on day 8. Zoom in with your camera under good lighting but don't obsess like I did. It will grow well over time but the mirror won't show. It much for like 1 month or more....but zooming in will show you its working. Good luck

the grow band looks alot like a blood pressure cuff applied over arm. And I am thinking it may be large enought to apply to scalp as it. and if not could be modified to wrap around scalp. And interestingly, there are electronic blood pressure cuffs that inflate and deflate on their own by just pressing a button. I also may be possible to connect an arduino or other controll board to create a patter of inflating and deflating to automate the process.

To be honest the theory itself does sound plausible. I'm 41 and losing my hair, let's just say that i'm desperate and at this point i'll try anything (except for Finasteride). I used Saw Palmetto for several months and i noticed some sexual side effects, a definitely loss in libido. I know it doesn't affect everybody but i had to go off it. I have ordered my very own derma roller and it should be arriving next week and i cannot wait to try that. In fact, it's desperation time so i think i will be accompanying Rogaine with the Derma Roller for maximum effect. Like i said.. hair loss is debilitating and it's causing me major anxiety. Looking in the mirror every hour is NOT helping. I'm avoiding Reddit forums as the baldies over there encourage everyone to shave their head and feel "liberated". Fuck that! I'd rather try all the alternatives first. I'm rambing and going off the topic of this video.. i think there is something to scalp massages and blood circulation. Having come across this video and an article regarding scalp tension and hair loss. I realize my own scalp skin is extremely tight! i can barely pinch a decent amount of skin each time i try. Thanks for this informative video.

Right now I've been using baking soda, but it isn't aggressive enough. So I'm going to try this stuff out, or add the walnut shells to the Dr. Bronners soap I use to wash my hair. Probably both.. Best of luck!

My sister and ex gf (who is my best friend) don't understand how mpb affects us. They obviously love me and think i should "stop worrying" but hair loss is a major concern/stressor for me. I have incorporated scalp massages. In fact i applied rosemary/peppermint oil on my scalp tonight and i pinched/stretched/massaged my entire scalp as i watched Avengers : Endgame. Which is a VERY long movie haha. Scalp massages/Derma + Rogaine 5% foam. Hopefully i can see a difference by Christmas.. fingers crossed. I love your vids and keep up the great work. Why do you think that transplanted hairs don't fall as well? I've found out this one: " Anywhere from 10 to 80 percent of transplanted hair will fully grow back in an estimated three to four months. Like regular hair, transplanted hair will thin over time. People with dormant hair follicles (sacs that usually contain hair beneath the skin but no longer grow hair) may have less effective transplants, but a 2016 study suggests that plasma therapy can help up to 75 percent or more of the transplanted hairs fully grow back."

Most likely a link between hair loss and scalp tension .
