Timing is something that none of us can seem to get quite right with relationships. We meet the person of our dreams the month before they leave to go study abroad. We form an incredibly close friendship with an attractive person who is already taken. One relationship ends because our partner isn’t ready to get serious and another ends because they’re getting serious too soon.
Here’s a simple truth that I think we all need to face up to: the people we meet at the wrong time are actually just the wrong people.
You never meet the right people at the wrong time because the right people are timeless. The right people make you want to throw away the plans you originally had for one and follow them into the hazy, unknown future without a glance backwards. You know that any adventure you had originally planned out for your future isn’t going to be half as incredible as the adventures you could have by their side. That no matter what you thought you wanted before, this is better. Everything is better since they came along.
When you are with the right person, time falls away. You don’t worry about fitting them into your complicated schedule, because they become a part of that schedule. They become the backbone of it. Your happiness becomes your priority and so long as they are contributing to it, you can work around the rest.
The right people don’t stand in the way of the things you once wanted and make you choose them over them. The right people encourage you: To try harder, dream bigger, do better. They bring out the most incredible parts of yourself and make you want to fight harder than ever before. The right people don’t impose limits on your time or your dreams or your abilities. They want to tackle those mountains with you, and they don’t care how much time it takes. With the right person, you have all of the time in the world.
The truth is, when we pass someone up because the timing is wrong, what we are really saying is that we don’t care to spend our time on that person. There will never be a magical time when everything falls into place and fixes all our broken relationships. But there may someday be a person who makes the issue of timing irrelevant.
Because when someone is right for us, we make the time to let them into our lives. And that kind of timing is always right.

This is how I look at Right Person, Wrong Time: If she’s really the right person for you, you’ll end up with her regardless. Meeting her at the wrong time simply means you’re not ready for each other yet. You both need time to grow apart and become the best version of yourselves. Once you’ve accomplished that, somewhere down the road you’ll meet her again. And this time, you both will be ready for each other. If things didn’t work out in the end, it simply means she wasn’t the right one for you.

I feel like I know people that are meant for each other but they aren’t mature enough and aren’t themselves yet...and they just need to live their lives before they can be together. This may have some true points, but for all the people, that came here believing, that something as right person, wrong time exists, You're not alone! I truly believe, this can happen. Wrong time doesn't mean to cancel to study abroad, it doesn't mean changing your plans for the future.. It's about things, that come from outside, things that you can't control, that the two of you cannot do anything against.. Sometimes things happen in our lives, that are just not changeable. Sometimes it seems that everybody in the world is against you two being happy together. Don't give up. If you're really sure, you have found the right one, there will be better times.

In my opinion, meeting the right person at the wrong time means: you both are not yet ready for each other due to whatever reason. You both still need to work on yourselves to become your best versions. Then eventually you’ll meet each other again somehow, and you both will be ready when that time comes.

Wasted a year of my life trying to make someone see that I was what’s best for them. Only to watch them leave, and not be “ready” to continue a relationship with me.. and for months I thought I could change their mind if I waited.. only to realize I was holding onto a one sided friendship. And here I am, 5 months later still questioning my choice to let go. If it was meant to be, I wouldn’t have had to beg them to give me a chance although I did nothing wrong. Some people just aren’t the right one for a reason. Let them go, and don’t end up like me.. regretting every moment of an entire year. "It's just not the right time" Yeah, and there never is or will be. There is only now. "Not the right time" is a lie the other person tells themself and then tells you. It's their excuse to excuse you. They think telling you "it's not the right time" is the kind thing to say, the gentle approach to diminish their uncertainty about you; but it is not kind or gentle. It's painful, it's hurtful. You'd rather had wish they had just said they didn't want you at all, or that you were never within their romantic consideration. I agree with most of this. But, I was deeply flawed when I met my person. I hadn’t moved in from my past and kept bringing it into my relationship. I couldn’t trust him because of my past. I was stubborn and so stuck in my ways. I had a lot to learn to be ready for my last relationship. He broke up with me 2 months ago but left the door open. I still believe that our souls are meant for each other and that we weren’t ready to be together.

I don’t think think there is no such thing as right person wrong time cause I believe in it, it’s happened to me. Me and this girl met each other just a month or two after she got out of a 4 year relationship and her and I instantly clicked. We both fell for each other hard and knew we loved each other and cared for one another. But it was the fact that the relationship she was in damaged her and so she had things she had to fix to improve herself into a better woman for herself in the future and mind you her and I got into things just months after she got out of a relationship. It was never meant to happen and we both didn’t expect any of it to get to where it did but the fact of the matter is that it did but it shouldn’t have and we knew we were right for each other. It was just that she couldn’t commit to someone when she didn’t feel the way she should and that’s complete. She didn’t feel complete cause of the things she needed to fix for herself and I know that it was right person at the wrong time. Y’all can disagree if you want but that’s just my opinion on my situation

Oh man, this hit so close to home. The exact same thing happened to me. The relationship he was coming out of was one that was also 4 years wherein he was engaged. His ex really did a number on him by cheating. I met him almost half a year after they broke up and we fell deeply in love but I could tell he was definitely still healing and was exactly how you described her. I thought at first that I could pour love into places within him that have been broken but it doesn't work like that. I'd never seen myself with anyone long term but I saw it with him. After 7 months of us dating, I realized I had to walk away because even though I was choosing him, he had so much to resolve before he could choose me. He knew it too. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I still think about him every day and wonder if I did the right thing or if we'll find our way to each other again... or if I was a rebound and he was projecting his old feelings for his ex onto me. But if felt real, you know? Hope can be so devastating for the heart when it's trying to heal. But I guess that's why this video exists, right? Because it's so much more comforting and romantic to run with the narrative that finding true love, means finding a love that will conquer all.

My “ex” it’s so weird calling him that bc he doesn’t feel like an ex to me, broke things of with a girl who he dated for 2ish years and stayed in contact w for a year after that. It was a very bad relationship of codependence and destroyed him. About 6 plus months of them not talking me and him started dating and everything was sunshine and rainbows after 3 and a half months of causally dating he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes because we were both so blindly in love. But After another 3 and a half months we both realized that he needed to still heal from everything that had happened to him before he could prioritize me. It was heartbreaking for both of us, I know how badly he wanted to give me his all like I was for him but he just couldn’t yet. We both walked away from the relationship but still want to remain friends even though it’s hard at the moment. I truly believe in meeting the right person at the wrong time. We were perfect together but he just was not in the right place for me yet. He spent so much time with the wrong person that when the right person came along he just wasn’t ready. It’s so much more complicated then just “true love conquers all” because it doesn’t. I like to hope that one day we’ll meet again at the right time but that’s what got me heartbroken in the first place, hoping too much and life goes on.

Melissa Perez it’s very very hard at first, I cried for like 3 days straight and still have my moments. My situation is a little weird just cause we do want to be together and hopefully will be soon but my “ex” is still being emotionally abused by his ex but he’s so blind to it so I’m still trying to get him to see that. Im gonna tell him soon that what this girl is doing to him is literal emotional abuse and then cut of all contact until he can figure out his stuff. He really really doesn’t want to lose me so hopefully this will do something. But if I were you and want to move on, I would cut off all contact before you two get hurt even more. I have been blind.. I was insecure and trying to get attention/validation from someone who was only attractive and talented at school, with my head in the clouds when the right person was right in front of me all along, hidden in plain sight. He has told me he thought I was beautiful and interesting.. and the interests, like certain philosophy (and specifically the rare music taste) we have in common are the things that are closest to my heart. I told him I only saw him as a friend and he said he could not be friends with me. Now, one and a fucking half year later, I've more or less recovered from romantic and social rejection, came back down to earth and realized that he had the best intentions I could have ever wished for in a man. He wasn't "really" my type, so I didn't recognize it back then. Looking back, he was and is beautiful. It's like love came in disguise. The type I usually fall for is actually not what's good for me. I completely disagree with this. My ex broke up with his ex because she got a job and had to move interstate. I spent 5 years with him, then she got a transfer to come back around the time I broke up with him. They are now happily married. It makes sense, looking back they were always just right for each other and we were all wrong for each other. Meanwhile, I've met a guy who is all kinds of right for me... but he is on again off again with his girlfriend and I always seem to cross his path when he's gotten back with her, but I'm certain when the time is right and if I happen to cross his path when he is properly single, it will be ON, we have the chemistry.

For anyone whose still not willing to believe in this video’s narrative, think of it this way: The right person will prove to you that they’re the right person by putting in all of the necessary effort to be with you despite anything that may inhibit them within their own life at that given time. I just feel like there are things wrong with this, like this would be what I would consider a " romanticized relationship " because you cant and more often than not leave everything , stop everything. More often than not especially when you and your partner arent living together you could both be going through some serious shi* maybe one is depressed, one is happy and you dont know how to fix it because they wont open up , maybe one has financial trouble but the other one doesnt , maybe one is younger and not emotionally mature sometimes you met at the right time but dont know if its true right time to stay because the relationship changes with each milestone. , you're both confused and hurting and you want to fix it , it's not magical .Sometimes no time is the right time because both of your lives are crazy but you are fighting to be together .

I think this is a really idealistic and narrow viewpoint. Each situation is unique. Not everyone has the means to drop their whole life to race to the side of someone they love. What if you want to support that person's dream? Could you really ask someone to lose out on the opportunity of a lifetime to be with you? Or, would you miss out on that chance yourself? To me, that's immature nonsense and if you really loved them you would let them have that experience, unfettered. I say, if it's the right person, it will work out in good time.
