Chuck Missler broke down the original meanings of the names of the patriarchs from Adam to Noah in Genesis chapter 5 and he believes that it gives us the gospel message. Adam: Man, Seth: Appointed, Enosh: Mortal, Kenan (or Cainan): Sorrow, Mahalalel: Blessed God, Jared (or Yared): Come down, Enoch: To Teach or Teaching, Methuselah: His death shall bring, Lamech: Despair or mourn, Noah: Comfort and/or rest. So if we translate the meanings into English it goes something like this: "Man is appointed mortal sorrow but the Blessed God will come down teaching that His death will bring those who despair comfort and rest." Um, can anyone say Jesus? The Word of God is real and alive, and nothing anyone says to me will ever convince me otherwise! 🙏✝️❤

You don't have to scramble name meanings to get that. Jesus reads Isaiah 61 in the new testament to show what the gospel is. Just go to Isaiah 61 and you will see what the gospel is.

Sorry I missed the initial broadcast. I find the genealogy of Genesis to be fascinating, but I also think about the other "sons and daughters" of Lemech (Gen. 5: 30). That says that Noah (not necessarily the first born of Lemech) had siblings, he preached for hundreds of years, right up until the flood, and his siblings decided to see how long they could tread water, instead of believing Noah.

I believe that God is in every little detail of everything and everybody. He has a reason for every single thing. And I have been fascinated and reading all about the Nephilim and that is in the book of Enoch. Not many of believe that or agree with it but I do! The Giants were there. It’s in the Bible. However some people dispute that. Not me though. We have no idea really of ancient ancient times like that. So we can piece together what we learn and pray and do our best! But I do believe there’s much we do not have any clue about. And why not about weird things. Jesus can do anything God is the maker of everybody. He already did some very unusual things so why can’t He do others I think he can! Thanks for this!

The ages of the Patriarchs are symbolic and schematic bro. The Summerian Kings list (the culture closest to antidiluvian age people) list their kings having lives in the tens of thousands of years. These ages would literarily make Methulselah a mere infant by comparison. The phrase "Live forever O king" is derived from this honorific practice of assigning multiplicity of years to their great men. Abraham is the central character of the book of Genesis. He lived a mere 175 years, and yet he is the first person to be credited to have lived to a "good old age...full of years". Why make this note if his own grandfather Shem lived to be more than 500 years? Since the ages given in Genesis cannot be correlated without overlapping of persons who never saw each other, we have to consider that the ancients liked to play with numbers and are attempting to teach us something we have yet to see. Archeological research from the early, middle, and late bronze age has revealed that the average person lived to be about 50 years of age. The reason one is considered in scripture to be an elder at 50 years corroborates these findings to be legitimate. This was for the reason that one was considered to be wise for attaining such an age. I, however think it was due to dental disease from grinding barley with stones and child birth issues. Granted there were outliers of those attaining ages we see today of 80 and even more, but that simply was not, nor ever was the norm. So the ages were honorific in nature, not a template of human longevity back in the dark past.

Pretty much good video but when you talk about the name changes about the Paul, his names was never changed as you meant here. As you know it was common that Hebrew had two names and like those whose names were changed referring their future deeds or change of their identity. Paul's wasn't the similar story to of those names changes. He never became Paul from Saul but his other name was Saul already. Manny people still misunderstand this fact and teach Paul became Saul. I think you missed it here or you might have misconception as well. Let's learn correctly.

Or he died in the flood 🤦🏾♂️. But how about this theory. The authors of pre flood literature, post flood literature, and modern Judaism are three different civilizations. The original authors counted years in lunar cult led or moons. If you take the ages of the men you mentioned, they would actually be 50-80 years old. If you take my current age, I would be over 550 years old in lunar cycles. We want to believe that the stories of the Bible were written by the same people so we dismiss the idea of different dating methods. But it makes way more since. Especially given that we know stories like Adam and Eve or the flood predate the Bible. I think if we want to truly seek truth, we have to be willing to open our eyes to the possibility that are religious texts is just a mixing and matching of different cultures over time from civilizations that dominated their specific era.

Quran talks more about methuselah (saleh) i dont know why bible leaves out so much important info
@xavariusquest4603 Жыл бұрын
You mean the Hebrew scripture... because it predates the bible extensively. The Quran references him as a pre-islamic Arabic prophet...all designations that did not exist at the time as none of these monikers would exist for thousands of years. But the same problem exists with this content. No one knows when or why or where Methuselah passes. We don't know if his death occurs or due to the flood. Regardless, only the eight souls survive the flood. The story from religious texts start with them. Scientifically, this would be an inappropriately small number of people from which to begin a new humanity. Obviously it would require extensive inbreeding. In the end it is silly. One very important reason for that is that the entire record of humanity up to the flood was destroyed. What survived was only partially known. Less was passed down to each successive generation. So when the first Jews and Arabs document this lineage they start from the stories from Abraham. How much and how correct that info was is anyone's guess...but it was most definitely incomplete. That is why, in all the sacred texts, the equivalent of Genesis is very tiny compared to what follows though it encompasses thousands of years of history.

Its impossible that people could live that long. Something is missing there, or something was not understood well. I can understand people living 200 years. But that has to be the limit. Anymore than that, anyone would go crazy...there is no human mind that can take 900 years of living, not biologically and not spritually. That even contradicts the very same foundations of that particular religion lolol... You cant wrestle with the human condition for that long, its impossible. So to me, theres only two options : Either those accounts are completely wrong, or these types of people were something NOT human.
