I lived in Mexico for two years, San Miguel de Allende as a base but travelled to many of the places you visited with San Luis Potosí being my favorite... This magical and complicated country changed my life in ways too immeasurable to explain... It wasn’t until I found your videos while going through my own dark period that I began to feel not so alone with my love and obsession for Mexico... It is very difficult for me to explain Mexico to anyone, or even myself to be honest - but watching your videos and brave travels throughout all parts of Mexico reignited my respect and admiration for its culture and its people... Hello from Cuernavaca my dear sweet David. I know, it has been months since I have left a comment but that does not mean you have not crossed my mind from time to time. I have not watched the whole series here, but let me just tell you that while watching Jerez yesterday con mi esposo he was so touched by your camerawork and your style. Come here if you like, but the joy and happiness that wash over so many places simply is not there at this time. I am not being gratuitous when I say you are an important voice when discussing the undiscovered Mexico. I genuinely look forward to those least touristed places in Mexico or other parts of the world. Manicured tourist spots are designed for people that should just stay home. It really distorts a place. They are in a way a bizarre parallel world that overlooks the heart and soul of a city or town. Keep doing what you are doing. We appreciate and recognize the unique places that you visit. I had lost my father a few months before, the only one who saw me and loved me for who I am, and I had just got divorced after having spent 11 years with him. I can clearly remember the moment l found this crazy, intelligent, caring, creative Guy. I was done with life as well. He had just had an evening eating spaghetti Bolognese with a NZ couple and there was a cat called Whisky in his apartment. Thanks Angie! I actually brought this channel to a close with a final episode in December before moving on to different things. After almost 7 years of doing this I desperately needed to explore other things. But comments like yours remind me there are people out there who enjoy my videos. Right now I have no intention to return but in future you never know. I'll actually be in Mexico City for a few weeks as of next Friday... without filming!

This year made me change my plans and left me depressed during July and August when I wasn't able to be in Mexico. Even if I did go, I would feel similar to you concerning the lack of accessibility caused by the virus. Thanks for your videos. Have you ever considered Finland? My great-grandparents were from Laihia. It's known as the Scotland of Finland. People from Laihia are often seen as a symbol of stinginess and frugality. They even have a museum to "celebrate" their unique trait.

Interesting! I'm in Latvia right now so very close to Finland. I'm moving to Poland next month as it's going to be easier to obtain Polish citizenship (currently ongoing as my grandparents were Polish) but once I have passport sorted as well as renewing my UK one, you never know! Helsinki is bloody expensive though!

The ending was specially awesome David... full circle - and the music perfect as usual. BTW! I saw a bit of your live video. Are you seriously considering returning to Monterrey in summer? You came at the worst time of the year and stayed at the worst area. You might consider staying in Saltillo instead, it is higher up (600 mts vs 1,500 mts above sea level) and just 70 kms to the west of Monterrey with direct buses to Monterrey airport. My recommendation: skip the north and go to Michoacan. Have a good winter amigo!

I'm sorry to hear about your depression and state of mind. I feel for you and anybody going through that, as I have a Brother that is bipolar. Something I always remind him of is that just think of people in the world that are dying from a chronic illness and wishing they could live for a few more days, weeks, months or years and how selfish a person can be to just consider to take their life all the while leaving the loved ones behind to deal with the grief of the loss of someone they considered an integral part of their existence because of how much they need you in their life. Please dont be selfish and literally throw your life away when there is really so much to live for. Always know someone out there is hoping they could be on this earth for just a bit longer but can't because of an illness and they dont have a choice. Peace be with you and know you are loved by someone. Good luck to you wherever you go and I know you do make a difference to people by saying hello to someone on the street or just by smiling. Please don't take this as a lecture or me preaching. Just saying I care and you matter.

Just found out of your videos, they are great especially how you go to places that are not well known to international tourists. Keep it up, and next time you go to San Luis Potosi let me know and I can give you some different places to go in the city.
