The Truth About Real Kobe Beef

You might have heard about Kobe Beef before, but do you know what it really is, and what makes it different from other beef? What's the difference between Kobe Beef and Wagyu? We went down to Kobe and got to speak with someone from the Kobe Beef Association so we could learn what really makes Kobe Beef, Kobe Beef.

Yeah, they actually respects animals, I believe this is how everybody should produce meat for the market. I'm a meat eater, but sometimes I'm thinking stop eating it only bcuz of horrible animal treatment we have.

I actually have a local farm close to me in Northern Ireland who produces “wagyu style” beef. His cattle are so well cared for and he actually set up a brewery in order to feed his cattle! If you’re interested, search Hillstown farm shop or hillstown brewery Northern Ireland 😊

For anyone interested in visiting the second restaurant, it is the Sannomiya Flagship Restaurant in Kobe. For dinner, it was ~$170 per person for a meal like what Simon and Martina had in the video. We went a couple weeks ago; the staff was super friendly and they spoke English pretty well. Best beef I've ever had!

Wow, great video. That looks amazing. Hey Martina, I remember you said you suffer from alot of pain and take pain medication. I notice that your eyes got a little watery after eating the meat with soy sauce. When I eat soy sauce my eyes get watery. Have you ever been tested for celiac disease? I was gluten intolerant but didnt know it for several years and the doctors just kept giving me pain medication. One day I decided to fast for a few days. Sure enough, I felt much better. After researching online, and getting tested, I found out I was allergic to gluten (soy sauce has gluten in it). I used to wake up with severe shoulder pains, and muscle aches, red eyes, blurry vision, very bad hip pain etc etc. I was actually close to getting a hip replacement because doctors thought my hip cartilage was gone. Talk about being misdiagnosed! lol. Essentially it felt like my body was stiff as a board. After I stopped eating gluten it all went away. I still eat some food that has gluten in it (fried chicken, shrimp tempura) but I know I am in for a few days of pain. So I will usually eat some of these foods on the weekend when I know I dont have much to do. Overall though, I stay away from foods that contain gluten.

This is the most information about Kobe Beef I've ever learned. Sorry, I live in an area where that's not common; closest place for me to get some is at least 6 hours away. I like there is a website to learn even more about the process and to verify the registration numbers so you know you are getting the real deal! We have a shabu shabu place about 10 minutes away from us and they either have Kobe or Wagyu beef ( I can't remember for sure). You do all the shabu shabu yourself so you can control how long everything is cooked for and then at the end they make you an amazing ramen soup with the broth. It's so incredibly good. You guys definitely made me want to go there again. :) Great video!
