Absolutely! When I stopped thinking and obsessing over finding someone he found me; and it turns out we have been living linear lives for years. Lived within miles of each other, had a acquaintances in common yet never met! A mutual friend introduced us and we've been together for 4 and are expecting our second child in July! I always tell women to not enter empty relationships to fill the space of singleness; it drains you!

How can you say you dont need a man? You use men to fix your car, your house. They install the plumbing, take care of the lawns, build the roads, houses, everything. You dont need a man because men have done such a good job building a society for you.

I'll be 27 this summer. I thought that I'd be married with kids by now, but that hasn't happened yet... Honestly, I'm grateful not to be responsible for young children at this point. I WANT to be a mom, but I needed to learn some more valuable lessons that I will ultimately pass down one day ❤ In hindsight, I realize I wasn't nearly as ready as I thought. These days, I spend a lot of time alone. I'm trying to understand myself the way God designed me, and I'm putting effort into fixing mistakes I've made in the past (hello, credit repair and returning to school!) A lot of the "loneliness" I was feeling was lust. Once I realized that I was still nurturing soul ties from my past, it was easier to simmer down. I want romance for sure, but my faith that God will provide a GOOD man who loves Him, has grown exponentially in this season. I'm excited to be married one day 😊 I know it will happen. Thank you for this helpful message of encouragement!

I was never a good "dater" until I started looking at it from a different perspective; not every man you go to dinner with is your future husband! You can learn from these men; and use that to improve yourself! I knew on my first date my husband was the One because I felt at ease, it's not always a lightning bolt ladies! We spent every weekend together after that first date and have ever since ❤️.

Great topic! Definitely agree! Unfortunately, even when I go to church or listen to sermons online, they tell single Christian women that they need to be content in their singleness and reach a certain level of spirituality if they want to get married. My pastor even said stop looking for Boaz because Jesus is your husband. I think that false doctrine is why many Christian women are ashamed to admit they desire marriage. If you are a Christian woman and want to be married, then you have the right to do so. God will not restrict you from marrying a good Christian man if you want.

Thank you so much for speaking about this! It’s so isolating to try to talk about how I want a bf and how I want to get married and be told by other women that it’s “desperate” and I “just need to be happy single” and “focus on your career/yourself”. So for you to talk about this really made my day!
@starminoui
@starminoui 5 жыл бұрын
I think you can do both. Your friends aren’t wrong when they say you need to be happy single because that means that you are happy and comfortable in your own company. No one can complete you. Finding a husband is the cherry on top of an already wonderful life. And it’s not bad to focus on work and yourself because by doing so, you will be a better wife. Hope that helps.

Maybe you should talk to men then instead of women. Take your life in your own hands and change, what you dont like. Maybe it is desperate, but desperate doesnt equal weak. If being single concerns you significantly more than making not enough money, then your energy is best invested in finding a boyfriend and not in improving your career, because if you dont want to make more money that badly, it will bring you no joy whatsoever and only distract you from the issues, that really concern you. Hope that helped.

@Lisa Card focusing on yourself and your career will not make you happy. I’m on the back end of that and emotional carnage I see of women who focused solely on their careers is scary. Having a family is a noble goal. Don’t hesitate. Money comes and goes and careers can be made when you’re older if you are willing to start from the bottom.

Omg, I absolutely love this talk! When I was 16, I used to think girls were desperate for wanting and having boyfriends at school. This kind of thinking carried with me till I was twenty. In my culture and religion, girls are married right after college. I didn't want that even though I knew that was what would happen. I thank God that He's given me some time (and a very obvious lack of men who are husband material to my parents' woe😂 ). I didn't do nothing since the two years I finished college however. I started a small online business and I've been so happy with it and myself. And by God's blessing, I feel ready now to get into a relationship. Your channel has helped me a lot to get comfortable with my feminine role too. Hopefully, my future husband (wherever he is), is ready too and making his way to me😂

Thank you for this video. I was always told, that I should "just be happy" in my singleness and should'nt think about marriage that much and that I am very young (I am 18). So I thought, thinking about marriage from time to time would just make me feel down and that I should avoid thinking about it. But now I have another way to deal with this topic. Thank you very much! :)

This is the part I struggle with. Since I was hurt in the past I became a bit more desperate in my approach to relationships, which was why I fell into casual relationships. I’m starting to learn to love myself not just for my sake (although it’s the most important thing) but in order to build and prepare myself for finding a man that I can be with in the long run. Thank you for these videos Caitlin, they’re very refreshing and helpful 😊

I definitely really appreciated this video. I have a saying "If I would not date me right now, I shouldn't be dating anyone right now" and I think that it encourages me because I know that I need to grow to be a person that I would be proud to date and I know that I can grow to be that person. I dated women for many (about 7) years, and have since decided that it is not God's plan for my life to date women, but I did not think that I ever would ever want to date/marry a man because I always had a poor opinion of men in general due to my past experiences, my heart was very closed off to straight men particularly. However, after a lot of prayer, reading, and introspection I have come to forgive the men in my past and myself for those interactions and become far more comfortable in myself, with having deep friendships with females that I found to be difficult before, and with the idea of having a family with the man God chooses to marry me if He so chooses. However, I know that I am not ready to be open and genuine with a man in a romantic way because I know that I still have a great fear of being emotionally hurt and have the tendency to shut out a man when he begins to think that he knows me at all and I have a hard time connecting the idea of emotional and physical connection with the same man. Anyway, the main point is that I am comfortable in my singleness because there is so much I can learn and so much that can help me build my character during this period by just taking care of my brothers and dad, getting involved at church, gardening, maintaining reading habits, staying healthy, etc.. While I know that I want a husband one day, I know that the changes that need to be made in my heart for that to be a good marriage need to be made over time and will only be made if God wants them to be. I think that this video had a really great message that resonated with me deeply, so thank you for putting yourself out there to talk about this issue! -Jazz

Where the men will want the same thing and have the same values as you do. There are (many!) men out there who want the same thing, they just don't carry signs on their head :) They are shamed even more than women are unfortunately...

I don't understand why this video would get hate. I'm a girl with a strong moral compass, I have my preferences and I'm particular about how I live my life. I've gone through most of it being single and it was a blessing! I needed that. I thought I was ready for a relationship but I really was not. Now I'm with a guy that is happy and eager to spend time with me, respects me and my decisions, teaches me a lot about people, life and even myself, and I try to be kind, understanding and supportive of him. Even now there are many challenges for me to face in this relationship, I can't imagine myself facing them a few years ago, when I was a lost, unhealthy teen, yet I understand why I longed to find somebody that would be into me, it was normal. Thank you for this amazing video, lots of love to you and your hubby 💕

M Khan Don’t worry you are not alone. ❤️ I’m 24 and in the same boat. I usually get extremely sad about it once a month and have a little cry then I wipe my tears take a breath, and go about my day. I always remind myself that this will not last forever. Seasons always change. I know deep down that someday I will meet that special guy. While waiting kind really hurt at times in a weird way I’m kind of thankful for it. Because I know that it will just make me value and appreciate him even more. Some people take their relationships for granted and don’t treat each other right. Best of luck with everything. ❤️

I have found the older I have gotten, I am 35 that I have realised the importance of my femininity and learned not to suppress it so much, I realised that the more I went against it and of I'm honest did go through a phase where I hated men. I was not happy, I was angsty and miserable even depressed sometimes. But why do we do this? Why is nowadays being like a man and losing our feminine qualities of gentle submission, and gentleness and having a natural need for companionship is seen as "strong". Now I know I am strong, very strong, I've been through so much without the help of a man, even at times I've wished I had someone to come home to to make me feel better. So I know I do not need a man as I've survived so long without one, well without a good one. And I have been hurt by men a lot, went for a lot of losers but I realised the key is not hating men and pretending we dont need them, what I learned to do is try understand them and most importantly spot early on the not so good ones. I have accepted now that I have always been a romantic and I was one of those little girls who always dreamed of getting married and now it's more so about getting married and also having that companionship not because I'm needy but because I like company, I like to share my thoughts and goals and dreams with someone and I want to build a home. I think companionship and closeness and intimacy are natural needs of the human condition so nothing wrong at all with not feeling like you are living your best life without them . I will always be a feminist and a strong woman , that will never change yet the key word is always woman! I am a woman and proud to be one and embrace my femininity and my vulnerability and my dreams to be a wife and to find a lifelong partner. I know my friends are lying when they say they are happy on their own, I am able to admit to them, that something is missing from my life without love. Dosent mean I dont value myself or dosent mean I depend on a man for my self worth it just means I am able to embrace my natural desires and vulnerability and openness and romantic nature, it is part of my strength:) x

As a 34 year-old virgin who never has had a boyfriend, I know what it is to be independent and always be alone. 😂 I have standards and obviously am not desperate. I rather be alone than with the wrong person, but the issue is that young, educated, & Godly virgin men are rare. I believe in mirroring the romantic partner whom we desire. 🤗I've been working on myself for a while, speak multiple languages, am fit, educated, plant-based, and seek the Lord. The more time that goes by, the more difficult it is bc I only will marry a Godly virgin man who understands my sacrifice, self-control, and patience. You have to be in my shoes to understand long-term virginity, and that itself is rare! Everyone whom I know who is married/engaged didn't wait for marriage. It's ironic, but the Lord never promised that he'd give virgins their spouses, right?! I think the more virtues someone has, the more difficult it is to find a partner. If everyone kept virginity for their spouses and sought the Lord, virgins would have choices galore. 😂 Long-term virginity is a virtue itself and has taught me virtues and lessons which are necessary for a successful marriage and necessary to understand people who unfairly suffer. Some children are orphans, child slaves, and are starving bc they have no other choice in life. They drink the cup which they are given. They don't have anyone, and their basic needs aren't met which means I don't deserve anything including a spouse (although I would like one). Many people don't understand this especially when it comes to spouses, sex, and having families. Most people take "basic" things like food, water, sex, being able to move without pain.. etc for granted. People think that they are entitled to these things, but we aren't! I've also heard lots of hypocrisy from people who have no idea what it's like to be in the shoes of 38 and 47yo virgins whom I know. I understand their pain of not being able to get married, enjoy their youth with someone, & have families. When the Lord closes the doors, there's nothing we can except for pray & be obedient. Long-term virginity and forever singleness is a test to see if you'll still seek the Lord although he doesn't bless you with your basic desires/needs.

I don’t know how to express how much I appreciate you right now! I feel like it would be a really long story to tell you all the ways I was told be the cool single person all my life since I rarely dared. don’t worry about dating . Get your education, and I did. I have my masters. but I always. thought to myself... I can get my education to be creative and still have a husband and family. I have friends who have families and husbands and great careers and creativity. I have amazing friends who don’t work who are smart, strong. There’s this whole glamorization of being the cool aunt or the 40-year-old single woman that is fabulous. That’s only in the movies. I can be the awesome aunt to my nephews and niece abd he married and have a family of my own. I can still write plays and be in a relationship.

Preach it girl! Love it. Don't settle girls. I asked my husband on our third date if he wanted marriage and family. I knew what I needed and I wasn't going to waste time! Ha! My husband is a good man so he was ok with that question.

Great video! I’m still single and since I was early teens up to now it’s very annoying when I mention wanting to get married one day and people jump down my throat with their feelings/ thoughts that mentioning such desires means desperation. Thanks for the encouragement!

I love this channel! Thank you for voicing what some of us feminine women have not had the courage to say. You have inspired me to be comfortable with being feminine in today's modern culture. I can be in college, getting a career, and still be feminine and looking for a good relationship. Its okay to want to raise a family.

Also one of the most toxic things is someone else pushing you to want a relationship when you need to be in singleness. Some people are sadly quite imbalanced and crazy :(

Women can be independent and strong. That means they can independently crave a unique sort of relationship where two people love each other and support each other!!! Letting women do what they wanna do means letting women want that unique connection if they want that connection!

Love this! Preach it! It takes incredibly strength to be single in the world we live in today. It's so rare these days as a woman to have standards and morals, so we also have to realize that it is probably just as rare to fine men with standards and morals. If you keep on being yourself and upholding your standards and morals the right man will find you in God's timing. In the meantime, don't let the world tell you something is wrong with you because you choose to be single. There is nothing wrong with desiring a godly relationship, and it's worth the wait. Trust me, its so worth the wait. God's plan for us is always so much better than ours. #stayconfident #stayfeminine

As a single woman I’ve never had that war with myself! However this is one of the very many reasons why I have over the years been attacked by feminists. I know that people don’t believe this truth but it still needs to be said. Being a strong woman is to not be a feminist! Very poignant video!

Nice video. I dont get why society assume single women are desperate (if you say you are happy, people think you fake it). It is exactly as you said - be grateful, live in the present moment. Take your time to know yourself and what you want. If you dont feel it right now, dont push it. It is okay whatever you want, just be honest with yourself. One of the most important lessons I have learned is that becaming a woman requires a lot of mistakes. A lot of us dream about being innocent again, but that is bs. Dont do that to yourselves, sisters! If you stop haunting your lost virginity you find amazing woman - strong, caring, passionate. Every diamond looks like a regular rock if we dont cut it and shape it - dont forget that :)

The problem with this is that so many women don't really understand the difference between want and need. So often my friends tell me that they need a relationship at that makes me cringe, if you need it you are open to bad relationships because you might accept whoever that makes a move. I'm single, I'm happy and if I find the right person of course I would want to have a relationship. 😊😊😊

Right!! I know many girls that think that being in a relationship with any random guy will solve their problems. I do think that a supportive boyfriend may help you, but some things are your own to solve, you know? You can't depend on other person to ""fix"" you.

I knew a lady who claimed to be a Christian who had been single her whole life, and she got extremely offended when I said I wanted to learn how to care for a husband and family. She kept telling me that a husband isn't going to complete me, even though that thought never once entered my mind. A lot of times, Christian books are written on the topic of "Jesus is your true prince charming", or people say "you might be called to be single, and you need to be happy with that", which is true to a point, but a lot of times, it makes it seem like desiring a husband is a bad thing. It's not for other people to tell you what the future may hold for you, or to judge other Christian women who are dating as if they grabbed the first guy they saw because they couldn't bear to be single. If you're desiring a family in the future, go ahead and speak to your pastor's wife or older married couples. They can teach you everything you need to know. Little girls aren't taught how to prepare for marriage in the future much anymore, and it's sad. Even if they never get married in the future, they can use their knowledge to be hospitable to other families and members of the church, or further pass it down to younger generations to do the same.
