I have No regrets about my surgeries, vastly improved my life. Only downside has been sleep. Honestly haven’t slept well since my first surgery. I will try magnesium.

Thanks Doc. Great information. Not sleeping is a huge issue after my shoulder surgeries . The lack is sleep makes everything else more difficult. Appreciate this unique channel addressing the challenges surrounding shoulder issues . 🙏

Great video! I don’t like taking tons of supplements or pain meds at all. I’m 2 months pre-surgery. I started taking magnesium before bed and my sleep is so much better.

Magnesium has been great for me since it was recommended by my cardiologist. It stopped my heart palpitations and helps me sleep. I have been taking it for 2 months.

I forgot to mention that I take 500 mg magnesium glycinate. I can not take other forms of it.

The combo of 500 mg Mg and 3-5 mg of Melatonin has worked well for me despite the new diagnosis of Cheyne-Stokes and central apnea. I bought an O ring that monitors SPO2 , It has an alarm that goes off if your o2 or HR drops too low and I wake up and turn back to sleeping on my side. Side sleeping still hurts so I have to go on my back to relieve pain. But I have much less apnea on my side. So we choose between pain and breathing. When the sleep doc gets back from vacation pehaps I'll get an ASV machine if my insurance will pay because I sleep mostly on my back because the DCE is still healing and I sometimes get vertigo on my side. Old age ain't for sissies!

How about stiffness at night? I'm 1 year and 8 months after open cuff repair. And no pain during day and night. But the shoulder still wakes me at night due to stiffness. (no stiffness during the day) According to my physical therapist. Stiffness at night can hold on for 5 years?
@rotatorcuffexpert10 ай бұрын
Hey Nick, thx for the comment. I am not sure what you mean. Why does your stiffness wake you up? Is it painful?
@nickmagrijn448210 ай бұрын
@@rotatorcuffexpert no not painful just so stiff at night it wakes me up. I'm a side sleeper and move a lot from one side to the other. And my arm/shoulder is so stiff at night when I try to move to my other side my arm won't move with me and that's what's wake me up.

Sleeping any way ...fancy $$$$ wedges...recliner... I can't stay comfortable enough to sleep. My 2 week check up is today. When will I ever be comfortable again? Ope. Sorry totally wrong topic for this video. Very sorry.
@melissaknotts788 Жыл бұрын
It does take some time to get comfortable. I put pillows behind my back and slept at an angle. I also put a pillow on the side I had surgery and tested my arm on that. I never thought I’d get to the point I am. I’m a little over 4 months post op. I hope it gets better for you
