Never not once, in all my years loving and diving into this series, have I ever thought about the fact Sora’s mother along with all of the Destiny Islands, would have forgotten all about Sora during the events of recom and Days. That’s so messed up it makes me chuckle a little bit. Great video!

Holy crap, I was aware of how much Sora’s mom must have been freaked out when she popped back into existence and her son was nowhere to be found, but I never considered the implications of the memory loss and Sora potentially returning home to his mom only to disappear, not once, but twice, and the second time Riku or Kairi may have had to tell her Sora is supposedly dead.

Pretty sure this was explained in the movie adaptation (The Forgotten) with Julianne Moore. The alien heartless screams at her to forget, but she remembers being pregnant, and then someone casts graviga and the alien heartless gets sucked up into the sky.

On a real note. Riku Sora and Kairi in KH1 did already come to terms with possibly never seeing their parents again. So I wouldn't say they just forgot to miss them or anything, though I have no clue as for what would have happened when they got back after 2

I’m pretty sure that kairi knew about sora in that one year. She just didn’t know Sora’s name. Just and that boy too. Kairi knew there was someone else there besides her and Riki that they hung out with, just couldn’t recognize a face or name until everyone remembered

I think Namine would have written Sora out of his parents memories, otherwise that would have made Organization XIII's plans all the more cruel. Part of me would also like to think that King Mickey and his entourage keep Sora's mom company, or at least keep her in the loop.

Go through the Disney scenarios and assign the characters to the original characters. Elrena and Lauriam- Larxene and Marluxia are Sora’s parents. Proof in Pranksters Paradise Dream Drop Distance. You can also see it in Kingdom of Corona and The Caribbean. Toy Box has a line that also reference this as Andy’s Room is figuratively Sora’s Room. Elrena is the Master of Masters, yes that meme that MoM is his mom is actually true. I ran the info and yes that is what’s actually going on, not even kidding.

Who knows maybe Nomura is explicitly not mentioning anything about Sora’s Mom just to come up with a valid reason for her involvement with Missing Link, maybe even an ancestor of hers being from the few that started that seaside town with all their traditions and folktales about the lucky charms that can change the form of a Keyblade being just vague enough that only those to actually wield one would try it. Aside from the fact that the last Known Keyblade that could have ties to Kingdom Hearts and the X-Blade especially in appearance and the strange implications of the dark counterpart being in the realm of darkness. It makes me question the origins of the different types of Keyblades as well as a resurgence of Keyblade wielders both new and for former masters. Plus it would be interesting to see these worlds originally populated by keyblade wielders to flourish and be researched as a well taught lesson to “not repeat the same mistakes our predecessors have committed” and to not be swayed by the precepts bias without proper understanding that all that they thought could have been solely based on superiority complexes, segregations or self interests into making all generations fearful and one sided thinking causing darkness to only manifest and affect in these negative and threatening ways. Still who knows since there’s a slight possibility that there can be a subversion and switch of darkness and light’s roles. Could even give rise to Darkling forms for our heroes. (Keyblade wielders overcome by darkness but a variant of Heartless) I’m also curious if Xion’s fading Crystalization during Days could also explain Sora’s in Quadratum since it’s different from the shattering of a defeated/murdered whole person.

Technically she didn't live on the islands...neither did sora...they just hang out on the island but their home was not on the island...and when the island disappeared the town didnt

My personal headcanon is that the person calling Sora in KH1 isn't his real mother, but a foster mother / tutor that isn't important to him. He kinda doesn't care about her.

I mean Sora and Riku seem to be orphans Sora’s been gone so long that they may have passed away while Sora was traveling Riku doesn’t seem to want to return in kingdom hearts 2 which seems to suggest that he comes from a bad home life the union leaders probably don’t have parents since they likely perished during the keyblade war or during the destruction of Daybreaktown
