Just a thought to share: I think we can skip closys if we take some xylitol mints or mints and wait for 20 minutes or so until the ph gets balanced, then use the toothpaste. The other thought, we could skip the listerine if we are using the xylitol mints or gum regularly and giving our mouth time to recover and not snacking all the time. To me, just a thought, the most important tools here are: xylitol, crest toothpaste, act mouthwash and fasting. Closys is good if we need to clean our mouth right after the food or if we have too much acidity in our mouth. Listerine is an extra help for the mouth to kill the bad bacteria. These are just thoughts and I hope the doctor corrects me please if I am wrong. Thank you very much for sharing the information.

So fascinating to learn about the denitrifying bacteria (convert nitrates from food) in the mouth, especially on the tongue, and their role in the production of nitric oxide. From her book: "Nitric oxide can enhance breathing and blood flow to the brain and heart, but it also has a mouth-health bonus, as it helps control periodontal pathogens and assists in the development of healthy gums around teeth." This is why tongue scraping can be harmful; she calls it a "scorched-earth tactic". It disturbs the delicate bacterial balance in the mouth, paving the way for the development of yeasts and aggressive mouth pathogens.

I've had 0 cavities in my lifetime over 40 years, never flossed and brushed only in the morning and before social occasions (so generally 1x a day) and never before bed. As kids we ate 3 meals a day with no snacking, and as a young adult in uni I was poor so I ate 1 large meal a day generally. I tend to prefer eating 1 - 2 large meals a day and never understood how people could eat 3x plus then snack on top of that. My teeth are essentially perfect according to my dentists which I only see about 1x every 5 - 7 years on average. I have almost no plaque at all and it only shows up if I eat more often in a day (and it's only the bottom front teeth) and it goes away once I go back to eating 1-2x a day again. I also only drink water and sometimes milk. I drink things like soda/alcohol/tea maybe a couple times a year at social outings and that's it. I'm also have more of an appetite for savory foods/meats than I do for sugary things. I'd rather eat pizza and hotdogs over candy any day. With all this said, I have been following Dr Ellie's protocol for about 1 1/2 years now and I really like it. My breath is fresher especially in the morning and my teeth feel cleaner overall.

I tried fasting for a few months and found that my back teeth no longer hurt occasionally like before. It wasn't until I saw Dr Ellie’s video that I understood the principle. So I decided to continue to eat only one or two meals a day, and try not to drink water or eat snacks between meals. Now I am a little curious and have a question to ask you. Do I need to brush my teeth immediately after eating? If I brush my teeth, do I need to brush them again before going to bed at night? Because now I will rinse my mouth with water after eating or eat some foods recommended by the doctor to protect teeth. But sometimes I don't have these foods at home. Thank you!❤ (oh I also don’t really like sweet food and do not eat them often)

@@peacehappyb237 I also should add, I always rinsed my mouth out after brushing. A few years ago I heard that you "weren't supposed to rinse off the toothpaste" so I tried that for 12 months. With Dr. Ellie's Routine I still rinse after brushing but then do the Listerine and ACT (Opti-Rinse in Canada) after.

I did try your system for 6 months including all products and no flossing or rinsing. I will admit I did run out of gum for a week and also mouthwash for a week a couple of times. I just had a 6 month checkup. The hygenist said I was doing a "Good" job. She still did to a lot of typical scrapping to clean my teeth. I was hoping she would say wow your teeth are so clean you don't need a cleaning. Would you give me your opinion if I actually needed the cleaning and any advice. Also I was using the mouthwashes rather sparingly to save money. I will try to use the full amount. Also the dentist said I may need crowns over old fillings at some point. How many times a day can we use your total mouth care system?
@dreamscape40526 күн бұрын
Dr. Ellie, I've been using your mouth care system for about 6 months now, and have seen a dramatic change for the better in my mouth health!! I recently took a short nutrition class, and they were saying mouthwash increases high blood pressure?? Unsure how that would be linked to mouthwash usage, but I'll never stop using your system. Have you heard anything like this? I think it's nonsense.

Have you changed your opinion on these other mouthwashes or is something not right!? 😢 Very confused please help.

Is anyone else struggling to find ACT mouthwash with the ADA label all of a sudden? We tried purchasing from various places that usually have it, and Amazon has sent me ones without the label 3 times, even though I double checked they would have the label!

The new bottle has caused a change in the ADA seal - but I am sure it is only temporary.- the new bottle has a wavy edge and the product it contains is the same.

Is there a maximum amount of xylitol that i should not exceed on a daily basis?
@nonsolorasatura9093Ай бұрын

But the issue is that Zellies xylitol isn't available here while what available in mint or gum are some added don't good ingredients .😕 While using xylitol powerd, to be 100% sure to take only xylitol, on none of her video explain if is effective or not.🤷

All you need it for is your mouth. Get a toothpaste with xylitol. Thats all you need. Anything over that is just a company selling a product.

Some recent research suggests that Xylitol causes heart attacks and strokes. Apparently, participants were given 30 grams of Xylitol per day, which is excessive. What is your opinion on the subject please? I would love to hear what you have to say on the subject.

I know you didn’t ask for mine but here it is. We know what happens when people eat high amounts of sugar. Obesity, Insulin resistance, pre diabetes, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and the list goes on. Sugar is a multi billion dollar industry. With millions of people going keto and carnivore and probably millions more giving up processed food full of added sugar. I’m betting the last thing that industry wants is healthy alternatives. I say look to see who funded the study.

Q #1 - is he motivated....not you, but him himself? What does he drink? Do you use the Complete Mouth Care System yourself? drEllie.com has an oral health video bootcamp that i recommend to help you engage him - and also you can contact me more easily there. I would get a second opinion before diving into all this treatment. I'd love to see a photo/picture of these teeth.

@@dr.elliephillipsthanks so much for the reply. I have only just found your channel searching online to help my son. Yes he is motivated as his teeth are sore and he does not want to have even one filling… he drinks water with a squeeze of lemon. Occasionally fizzy water. He grew up with limited sugar and using xylitol gum but he has relaxed lately, and in less than a year his teeth have deteriorated. so we are trying to make a plan together. Your argument about eating a lot of sugar at one time rather than spreading it out over time is compelling, but I suspect there are other metabolic processes that are not helped by eating a lot of sugar at one time...

@@ats89117 oh I so agree with sugar control - but it is sad to see people struggle to restrict sugar, and still be unsuccessful with the development of cavities. Understanding that it is not quantity but frequency is the message that I am trying to impart.

@@emceh I’m going to assume the amount our bodies can process is the amount we would normally encounter in our daily foods and naturally occurring in water. The amount we put in our mouth and on our bodies from added sources. I believe exceeds what we should have. Now maybe you have the actual numbers that say otherwise but I have broken busted up teeth from years of drinking naturally occurring fluoride in the water along with fluoride tooth paste. If you’re eating a proper diet you have no need for any of these things anyway. Just simply lightly floss and brush.
