I dont know what her protocol is but I started taking vitmin k and stopped getting plaque and I started using l argenine for sensitivity since my kid got horrific sensitive teeth from using sensodyne they even say it on their website. I also take magnesium and vit c and ginko biloba and cayenne pepper for opening the blood supply of small vessels in gums and teeth. I also then eat a load of chocolate and have to stop that and get some zylotol instead and get raw cacao..it can make you create more stem cells which hopefully will help my gums and I have used comphrey and horsetail but I have fallen off the wagon with everything nowadays and feeling everything is worse because of my sugar munching. My joints my muscles everything. So must get back on track.

Now with this system, teeth are very clean back there. And the one thing I am struggling with is not sipping drinks all day and eating etc. So hard. Especially considering i have Sjogrens Syndrome and thirsty alot.

@@katharinedodson9330 so that hugely depends on many factors. Your weight height body mass ...activity level.... what you're eating...soup stew jelly?..... and how much you're drinking with your meal....a med diet you'd be eating for quite a while many courses including soup and watery foods like fruit ice cream all of which contain water and ypu don't need 2literrs of water to be plain in a glass it can be in a bowl of soup or a jelly. So of course many people do this..if you think about it for thousands of years we didn't even drink water at all... untill bottled water it was not common....people might have a glass once a year on a sunny day and for thousands of years people worked all day in the feilds having zero water only beer and soup... eaten at meal times only... they weren't bringing their Stanley cup to the feilds. Thus drinking water thing is relatively recent stuff. And in no way is 2 litre of water nessisary for everyone or adequate for everyone either!

When I was a child, my father would take me to a dentist for cleaning every six months as recommended by the crooked dental association in canada at the time. And nearly every time I went, the crooked dentist "found" a cavity or two that required a much more expensive fillings than just cleaning. So sadly, I have a mouthful of fillings. I learned he was a lyer when I was a teenager and one appointment he told me I had THREE cavities! I had braces at the time and had my Orthodontist appointment a few days later, so I told him that I'd come back next week after exams. He told me not to wait too long as the cavities would get worse. When I saw my Orthodontist I asked if I had any cavities and she said no! I never returned to that crooked dentist and didn't go to any dentist until I was an adult and had dental coverage through my work. When I did return to a dentist over 20 years later for a cleaning, that dentist asked when the last time I had a cleaning was and told me my teeth are fantastic when I told him over 20 years ago. So parents, ALWAYS get a second opinion when your child's dentist tells you they have cavities.

So as to embarrass her with hygienist and people resting in dental chairs in neighboring rooms. Of course, after the hygienist told him later that "there was no bleeding; no gum recessions and NO plaque to clean" the dentist was desperate to know what patient was doing so he could have that information for himself and his own family! This quote towards the end stood out to me so much: "There are foods you know you should be eating but perhaps you don't know why." I grew up with adults scolding me to eat healthy without me truly understanding why. I know vegetables and exercise are good for you, but it was so easy to just dismiss it and indulge in the normal American diet/lifestyle - fast food, sweets and snacks all the time, sitting at chair for hours, being sedintary for days. But now, as I learn about the microbiome, sugar spikes and dips, inflammation, fiber, eating a diverse range of foods, what exercise actually does for the body, etc. I feel so uplifted. The previous time she had stated i had stage 2 gum decease. I did not tell her that i am using the system. I will ask for a full review on my teeth when i go for my next visit.

I have a theory that chewing properly during meals is vital to tooth health and digestion. I remember from school learning that "digestion begins in the mouth" with saliva and proper chewing. The chewing motion stimulates blood flow to your gums and jaw where your healthy teeth come from in the first place. My wife is a "wolfer" and eats too quickly without chewing enough and her teeth are problematic her whole life dispite diligent oral care and regular dentists visits. I have only 2 fillings installed when I was 14 and at 62 years old have flawless teeth and I am a chewer, even a slice of bread or porridge. I love chewing and eating so much, I tell her, that I take long to eat. I would love to hear your take on this Dr. Ellie.

Chewing your food properly helps your stomach more, so your stomach doesn't have to work more then it is suppose to if you chew your food properly

The longer you chew, the more pressure and stress you put on your teeth. The tougher the food you eat, same thing happens. Fiber, as I understand it, is not particularly good for oral health. Also, our stomach acid is excellent at digesting meat very easily, so less chewing is necessary. Since going carnivore I haven't had any teeth or gum problems.

Then I used to talk in Libraries, at health fairs, at hygiene schools, to medical and nursing students, in hotel ballrooms with a power point presentation etc. Then I wrote two books - so I really have been explaining oral health for about 50 years :) The science and understanding evolves - but it is so fun to understand why things work and why this system I describes is so effective. There probably is such a thing as too much zylitol. Some doctors (Paul Saladino) warn that zylitol can damage the gut bacteria. Only trace amounts of it exist in nature; we are likely not equipped for high consumption of it. I use zylitol after a meal, but I don't swallow it. Thank you for this insightful video! I'm fascinated by the idea of foods that can heal teeth. Could you elaborate on which specific foods are the most effective for dental health?
@dr.elliephillipsАй бұрын
Keep in the front of your mind that it is YOUR SALIVA that is healing your gums and teeth. The first way to let the foods you consume help your teeth and gums is to allow time for this to happen. You have to digest the foods, allow for circulation around the body - transfer in the salivary glands and then out into the mouth. If you have consumed xylitol at the end of a meal - the xylitol will have had a prebiotic effect on supporting good bacteria in the mouth during this resting time. Now the nitrates and other minerals from foods enter in saliva and further support the mineralization of teeth and repair of gums. Ideally wait 1-2 hours for maximum benefit after meals to allow all of this to occur. The foods for oral health will be foods that support saliva quality - and these will be the foods that basically support immune health: Here is a food guide PDF from Dr. William Li - its clear and very useful: drwilliamli.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/FREE-Immune-Boosting-Foods-Guide.pdf

This is so helpful, food and exercise are the true keys to optimum health. When I was a child I had two very large amalgam fillings in my back upper teeth on both sides. I’ve dealt with so many health issues, mostly digestive! I’ve recently had them removed and replaced with composite fillings - much more safer for the body. What a journey it has been, I feel at 38 I’m finally adopting a healthy lifestyle and diet.

This all coincides with what I have been reading in the Edgar Cayce protocols on diet and health. For teeth was recommended to eat lots of hard crunchy veggies at the afternoon meal .Like a good salad. The veggies contain the B vitamins and by chewing them raw they massage the gums. He also recommended to eat gelatin with those foods as they help the body absorb vitamins and minerals much better. Maybe that is butyrate? Also prickly ash bark for gum inflammation to massage it onto the gums for healing. Great info, Dr.!

Ive been using your system since Oct. 2023 and my teeth do feel cleaner using the Xylitol but my sensitivity has gotten worse. I have a couple of deep pockets where the sensitivity is but the pockets dont seem to be improving. I follow your recommendations as close as I can.
@dr.elliephillips10 ай бұрын
This does not seem right - and I am happy to help you get the system correct - if you would like me to. What are the changes that you have made? Pockets should heal completely on my system within 12-24 weeks - even in the most difficult cases. Something you are doing, or not doing needs to be tweaked. My thought is that perhaps you are not using my system last thing at night? Very important. You can have a Zellies mint before sleeping - but you have to use the system before sleeping to help them avoid demineralization during the night. The other thing is we have to give saliva time to heal teeth between meals. This means having xylitol at the end of a meal and then do not eat or drink - anything - not even water - for at least an hour or two. If you drink other sparkling drinks or soda - then you are feeding the bad bacteria in your mouth - which would keep pockets from healing. if you do not give your teeth time with pure saliva - they cannot heal or mineralize. This balance of demineralization and mineralization is always at the center of sensitivity problems - and it is you who is in the control seat. If you need more help - let me know. Tipping the balance is all you need to do - and you will immediately feel a difference.

In my direct experience with myself and many people I coached, and 2 decades of research, either extremes (vegan or carnivore) initially helps. Could be years one can receive benefits before reaching the middle point and then start going into another imbalance). I was raw vegan for 2 years and it healed my autoimmune disorder. Perfect health. Then I started to have dental problems after that. Then I went carnivore. Again it restored the balance, then it started to create imbalances. From these experiences, it is best to listen to your body rather than to your brain and logic. Your body is changing every moment. It knows what it needs and tells you. Listen to that. As an omnivore (who eats organic and non gmo foods only) I haven’t gotten any cavities for over 15 years I can attest eating moderate amount of sugar, grains, fruits haven’t caused cavities because overall, things are balanced.

Wise comments Mindeditor. I know (have experienced) what you are saying - when you clean your diet for a time you do indeed become more instinctive with food choices. I have said to non believers that it's like I'm pregnant - I have a craving-like desire for a particular food - kefir, for instance. By the way I'm a guy! The other game-changer is fasting. Intermittent fasting everyday (no breakfast) and the occasional longer fast of three to seven (or more) days. But you have to eat clean for a time before doing a longer fast. You will know if you are "clean" as you get into the fast - it should be relatively easy - no prolonged sweating or craving for anything. Again, your body will instinctively know. Oh, and by the way, learn how to make your own sauerkraut - one of the few real superfoods! Gut health, the entire microbiome of our body, is a huge part of it all. And be happy!

my 88 year old Mom had bad teeth 10 years ago, but since she always has 2 sips of buttermilk before bed (she does that for her colon) her teeth have gotten better, she never complains about toothache any more and has not had another tooth loss the past years

@@SS-yq9ku There is a free downloadable booklet at drEllie.com. You will also find information about how to purchase the necessary products and how to use them. If you'd like more video information - I have an oral health video bootcamp - or some books on Amazon. Mouth Care Comes Clean explains the fundamentals of the biochemistry we all need to understand for oral health - if you like to begin there. Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye is more about my journey as a dentist in different countries and how I created this system to save my Mother from dementia. Thanks for your question and your interest!

Sorry I’m not gonna use a flouride toothpaste along with listerine that dries out your mouth which gives you other problems.

Thank you very much for all the knowledge!!! I live in Israel and it seems we don't have any xylitol products here... A few questions please! 🙏❤ 1.why do you recommend finishing a meal with cheese\whole milk instead of water, when there ph is lower than water? 2. How apples protects the theeth 3.How all those alternative effective compering to xylitol? And what alternative is the best? 4. we have here Listerine cool mint, i think it contains the 3 oils you mention but I'm not sure about the rest of the ingredients. How can I know it's the same formula? 5. Would it be ok to use the Listerine and end with an apple instead of the act that we don't have here?

Thanks, Dr. Ellie! Glad to know that all the fruits mentioned are my fav (except cheese)! Now, I no longer have to be so concerned munching on my fav fruits. Aside from following my dentist's advices, I was also able to improve my oral health with the help of kriss ai by just chating with it. Very efficient! 🥰

I've heard that "kriss ai" somewhere, is that a free dental service? Can you tell me more about it?
