Dr Ellie, i have used your system for anout 3 months now and during last appointment I was told my teeth were so clean I did not need it cleaned! How is that even possible? How?! My hygienist was so impressed she told me to not stop what I was doing. Also my gums did not bleed at all, and the gum readings were all significantly improved. now husband is doing your system, I hope he sticks with it to see the results 🤞 Cant thank you enough for your work.

Thank you for all this information. I've had trouble for many years and dentists don't share this information. I wish they would. My mother and godmother have always tried to be meticulous about their oral health and yet they've needed extractions and then couldn't afford implants. I don't want that to be my future. I go to the doctor regularly for my cleanings and my dentist wants to do deep scaling regularly and $5,600 in bone loss resection. I want to avoid all of that and have started listening to your videos. I have Xylytol gum in my purse and in my car and have started using two separate toothbrushes as recommended as well as the mouthwash and Closys. I didn't know that we needed to brush at an angle to get into the pockets. That is so important and it seems a little counter-intuitive, but I do feel my oral health improving. I also suffer terribly from allergies, so I have to take allergy meds daily (I live in the Garden State). Thank you so much for your help. You are a godsend!

I honestly have no idea what made this change, but I had around 5mm to 6mm pockets and the dentist recommended scaling without telling me what could have caused this. I believe it to be bruxism but I'm not certain since my jaw is also crooked. Point is, I would have loved a way to prevent it vs just telling me to spend money to fix it ESPECIALLY if just brushing and flossing wasn't going to fix it. They did the scaling and root planing so I can't be certain if Ellie's routine fixed my pocketing or if the scaling did but i'm back to 3mm and some 4mm's now and it has only been a month which is cool. I will say my teeth have never felt better and more smooth than now. My partner also commented on how white they look even though they look the same to me if I'm honest.

My jaw seemed to be healing and now, it seems like the debridement failed. The oral surgeon told me to give it six months, have my teeth cleaned, and then see him again. If he needs to do another debridement he’ll charge me again. @dr.elliephillips
@dr.elliephillips 2 ай бұрын
@@ATru14 Be really aware that the healing is NOT from the xylitol itself - but from the way xylitol STIMULATES a flow of saliva into your mouth. Then the key is to allow YOUR SALIVA to heal your mouth. So the pattern of eating and drinking in sessions - then end with xylitol or my system and then DO NOT EAT OR DRINK anything for as long as possible afterwards - at least an hour or two. Last thing at night is another time when you really want to allow the system or xylitol to be the very last thing - stimulating healing saliva into your mouth before going to sleep for the night. The longer you give your teeth between meals with healing saliva - the quicker the healing. Makes sense? Look into tweaking your daily habits - to give more time for your mouth to heal. Sipping water all day will thin your saliva and make this NOT happen....one thing people often do. Of course, you need to drink - but drink more water - less often.

@SunrayStar
@SunrayStar Ай бұрын
Dr. Ellie says it isn't necessary to sanitize your toothbrush as long as you let it air-dry for 24 hours between uses, because when bacteria dry, they die. That means keep 2 toothbrushes at a time - one for AM and one for PM. Also, she does not recommend soaking toothbrushes because that makes them too soft. Her recommended toothbrush is Dr. Plotka's Mouthwatchers toothbrush, which is medium-firm with very dense bristles.

This guy's problem was superficial debris that could easily have been brushed off his teeth if her had been brushing more effectively - and possibly he was still using an electric soft brush - that is most often the #1 issue. As you dramatically change your oral health there is a lot of PLAQUE that ends up as debris on the surface of teeth. His dark stains were that. He could have either gone for a dental cleaning when they would have brushed away or he could have tried my hack - which is adding some crystals of xylitol to toothpaste - to make it a bit more "exfoliating" to use a cosmetic word. We have here a kind of "dead skin cells" that need to be brushed away - that is all. This usually occurs 8-12 weeks after starting my system. This is why it is so important to brush your teeth well with the flossing brushes or a reasonably dense brush that gives your gums a good massage and your teeth a really good clean. Now many people are scared of brushing - either because they have been told they brushed their gums or their enamel away. In both cases - if you are using my pre-rinse system - you cannot do that - and you NEED to use some vigor when brushing.

You've misunderstood her advice it has nothing do with closing lid before flushing, but the fact every time you take warm shower or bath the moisture mixed with toilet activity when cooled forms droplets that easily attach themselves to toothbrushes left in your bathroom, hence never leave toothbrushes in the bathroom, keep them in a separate area is the point, once disinfected so as to air dry.

Hi Dr Ellie, I wish I had started your system sooner! I was skeptical but I did use your Zellies mints for maybe a couple of months now But I decided to finally try the whole system a couple weeks ago- my sore inflamed gums calmed down very quickly and I don’t get as much food trapped in my teeth and do not need to floss. I also think my teeth are whiter and more pearly or shiny. I just had some questions as someone with gingivitis and gum recession: 1) do you still recommend we brush in the circular motion first then flick up? 2) unrelated- but what are your thoughts on crowns? I am partly doing this to reverse cavities as well. The last dentist I went to said I need 4 crowns on all 4 molars. I was stunned by this, for years other dentists suggested I would need 1 bc the filling broke or something and they can’t refill it. I plan to see another dentist for a second opinion. I found a holistic dentist near me but I doubt my insurance accepts so it will be expensive Also, what are your thoughts on removing silver fillings and replacing with the white ones? Is it better or unnecessary?

Why are you recommending for people to use Closys mouth rinse? This product has Trisodium phosphate if it has been banned in many states and other countries. Severe damage to the mouth, throat, eyes, lungs, esophagus, nose, and stomach are likely to occur due to trisodium phosphate (TSP).

@9:25 Dr Ellie, you mentioned not recommending flossing after brushing teeth and gums well because gums are fragile and floss can push the bad bacteria into the blood stream. But doesn't the pre-rinse Closys meant to kill the already? Also you have mentioned if want to floss, do so after spitting out the toothpaste and gurling with Listerine Mint. However Listerine Mint is extremely acidic... wouldn't that be harmful to floss if the enamel is in an acidic situation and the enamel may be compromised? I hope you can address such questions as I am using your complete mouth care system right now. Thank you.

If it's 100% xylitol powder, do not dilute it in anything. Use it all by itself. Swish 1 gram (about 1/4 teaspoon) around the mouth for 2-5 minutes and then swallow. Take 6-7 grams total each day, split up into small 1 gram doses all throughout the day. Take a dose after every meal, snack or drink of liquid (even water), and then do not eat or drink anything else for at least 1-2 hours.

Or am I maybe having an adverse reaction to something? I hope its ok..I like the system. TY so much..I so appreciate your knowledge and lovely presentation... bless you on this day..

Dr. Ellie! Thank you so much for all of the information and your videos! I have lived with recession since I was in my early 20’s. I have had two gum graft surgeries. But I still have a ton of recession in my mouth. I have been on your system for about 1 month. My mouth has never felt more cleaner and healthier since starting your system. I have noticed my gums have tightened up. It has not grown back though, but I’m ok with that. I am very happy that I tried your system. I have seen some great changes in my mouth and I’m looking forward to seeing the results the longer I am on your system. I currently use the Nimbus toothbrushes. I’ve heard they are similar to the toothbrushes you are recommending. What are your thoughts on this?
@MrMiaumee
@MrMiaumee 2 ай бұрын
Why cherry pick products? The Mouthwatcher works not only because it's tapered, because the lower layer bristles are medium-firm. But then, you should be able to judge whether what you are doing is working pretty quick. The gum is soft and requires careful treatment, but it also needs enough strength to stimulate it.

@@msjen_nay I feel your concern. Many people (including myself) have fragile gum by genetic predisposition. But there are many causes of gum recession and toothbrush strength (along with appropriate brushing method) is only one of the many. Here are some other points from my decade-old note that might be worth considering: 1. Dental posture during sleep or normal time: keeping the mouth close but with the jaw relaxed and the teeth apart may be more instrumental than it seems. Teeth clenching can quickly cause gum bleeding plus recession and breathing with open mouth doesn't help either. 2. Liquid: Drinking too much liquid too often (espcially hot liquid) can also cause gum recession fairly quickly. Even gargling too much and too often can cause the gum to recede. 3. Diet: The stuffs we choose to eat can also contribute to gum recession in a way many can't foresee. Diet high in fermentable sugar and acidity can cause plaque to harden faster and wear away the gum quickly. 4. Chewing: Biting food too hard or for too long can also exert pressure on gum contributing to gum recession. Even chewing food that is too hard can cause the gum to become inflamed and bleed. 5. Teeth cleaning: Both overcleaning and undercleaning can contribute to gum recession. If teeth are not cleared of rancidity fast enough, plaques can build up and contribute to gum recession. But if teeth are being kept too clean regularly, it usually involves something that can cause gum recession very quickly (think chemical agents and abrasive substances). 6. Movement: Even making too extreme movements can pull ligaments in a way to cause the gum to recede. Opening jaw too widely and clenching the teeth are the easier culprits. Squeezing the gum against teeth or moving the lower jaw back and forth can also cause gum to tear away badly. So the idea here is that in order to avoid gum recession, all of the causes need to be addressed simultaneously. The fact that most of us see our gum recede with age is a sign that we are not addressing them to the best of our ability.

Hi Dr. Ellie, I recently came across your videos and the information your provide is PURE GOLD! Thank you very much for all that you do! I have 2 questions though: 1. I am living in Romania and I don't find 100% xylitol mints and they also contain unhealthy ingredients. I found however 100% pure xylitol powder for baking and I was wondering if I can use it in some way instead of using mints. Maybe dissolve it in water and use it as a mouthwash after meals? Is there a recipe, the quantities/ratio needed and how long to keep it in the mouth? 2. In June 2024 a new research article about xylitol was published in the European Heart Journal stating that xylitol is prothrombotic and associated with cardiovascular risk including heart attack. What do you think about it? Do you think eating the 6-10gr is cause for concern? Thank you very much! I hope you have a great day!

First and foremost, I would like to thank Dr. Ellie, for her free, amazing advice. I wish she could answer this question. I have been on in this system. About 3 weeks ago, . I was doing my normal housework, and suddenly my heart started beating so fast . When I say fast, it means fast right no jokes! I quickly rushed to my husband, and he could see the beat from my throat. I have never ever had a heart problem in Life. He quickly got me the smart watch, and yes it wasn't a normal beating! We googled about Xylotol, and we suspected to be the culprit. Now I'm so cautious about them. I wish she could explain this. There was also an article about Listerine Cool Mint on Daily Mail Uk, and it said it causes some form of cancer. I have tried to ask Dr. Ellie, but she has never come back to me. Whether this is true or not, I don't know.

1. Yes, the powder you mentioned is fine. No, do not dissolve in water or food as it won't help oral health that way. Instead, use it all by itself. It is also great to use right before bedtime. 6-10 grams per day is the right amount. 2. Dr Ellie has already addressed this in a video she made recently on June 15. Please do look for it as you will feel less anxious once you read it.

@@MrMiaumee Appreciate your comment, thank you. How about if, instead of DIY, I buy a natural mouthwash product that has essential oil? I was feeling unsure about essential oils too, as they can kill all bacterias including the good. But Listerine, as well as having essential oils, has alcohol in it -- and alcohol definitely kills the good bacteria. I was confused why we're being adviced to use a product that wipes out good bacteria also -- but thought I'll just follow Dr Ellie's advise as much I can (i.e., use essential oils, as i thought the essentials oils is what made Listerine liked by Dr Ellie). But you are right that adding essential oils ourselves can be of more strength. And someone had suggested to use salt water in place of Listerine, but salt also kills good bacteria and is harsh on gums. Feeling lost on what to use in place of Listerine, therefore, and thought of make use of the essential oils I have.

@@MrMiaumee Speaking of essential oils, I'm now also wondering about my mints. I can't get Zellies either, so I buy another brand: Spry. Spry flavours theirs with essential oils. @MrMiaumee
@MrMiaumee 2 ай бұрын
@@Gul_youtube This would be a much better choice actually. The thing with xylitol mint (as opposed to just xylitol sugar) is that you are also kind of chewing it as well. So it normalizes the mouth pH and let the mechanical chewing do its trick.
@MrMiaumee
@MrMiaumee 2 ай бұрын
@@Gul_youtube It's kind of subtle. Dr. Ellie doesn't like all the ingredients in the products either, but Listerine has a lot of data supporting its efficacy in tartar control among others (that's even with the alcohol in it). Plus she suggests the Listerine to be used only in a very specific way, and that is to use it for a short duration and neutralize it quickly.
