Good to know. I’ve been thinking about going this route and then eventually becoming a CSFA

That is a great route! CSFA’s can make more money and have a bigger part in the actual procedure as opposed to managing the entire back table and supplies.

Do you know of any schools that offer EKG training online as well as x-ray technician? I'm in the state of Michigan and a lot of these don't have a lot of online training although they do accept reciprocity
@thesterileguy4 ай бұрын
Here is a link for a school that does EKG training all online and finds your place to do an externship for you. deals.preppy.org/ekg-technician-program?affiliate_id=4248789

Is this a class that people can take up online that you don't have to have Community college training I would love it if it was just an online class not necessarily a community college course 🤔

This course from Preppy is 100% online, is self paced, they find you an externship place close to you, and is only $1599 total. Plus you get a free laptop. surgicaltechonline.com/

So I am already an Intern as a scrub tech. Would you recommend online or should I still go with in person classes?
@thesterileguyАй бұрын
Can you let me know what you mean by as an intern surgical tech? Usually an intern has already completed formal education and interning is getting the hands on experience. Either way I totally recommend preppy because they are so affordable and flexible around your schedule. surgicaltechonline.com

I hope you know surg technician and surg technologist are different
@thesterileguy2 ай бұрын
Yep. But the pay is exactly the same. You could go to school for 2 years racking up a lot of debt to call yourself a Surgical Technologist, or go to a short and much less expensive school and make the exact same amount of money. The only people who distinguish the terms and get offended are the ones who went to school for 2 years and want recognition. But at the end of the day everyone says “Surgical Tech.” All this to say it proves the point of this video that there is no reason to pay all that extra money and delay yourself 2 years from a career so you can call yourself a technologist.

Can a Nurse works as Surgical tech in US...if I bachelors degree do i still need a schooling?
@thesterileguy3 ай бұрын
Kind of, let me explain. A nurse works under their own license, so they can work as a “scrub nurse,” however, they still have to undergo Perioperative Nurse training. A lot of times hospitals have their own internal training programs for nurses to move specialists like Operating Room, Emergency etc. So yes, but you’ll still need Operating Room training for nurses which includes scrubbing tech roles.

u mean acsergical technician can make all that, or sergical technologiste abd wgats te difference plz i m cnsidering it
@thesterileguy5 ай бұрын
There used to be a bigger difference over a decade+ ago as far as pay, however, most hospitals don’t care how you got certified as a surgical technologist/technician, you get paid the same amount. Surgical Technologists have a degree in Surgical technology, whereas Surgical Techs have a shorter program like a certificate, or course etc. Spending more money on an associates degree doesn’t get you higher pay anymore. Nor does it state if you’re a better tech or not. It just means you were able to memorize more and pass tests. It all comes down to your performance in the operating room as to whether you’re a good tech or not.
