Honestly, I don't think she is too young to play a mother of a 12 year old. I'm terrible at math but if I my calculations correctly, she would be around 24 when having the kid. Which is not that young.Yes, it is a little young but doesn't seem like anything scandalous.

@@BettyMareeHOHCountry The live-action movie seemed designed to upset fans of the animated series. They changed Kim being a cheerleader and turned a moment of the original into prophecy "the rat will be CGI" and all that. Praise God they stayed close to the original with the theme song. The young actors did their best, the kid playing Ron managed to capture the Ron-nes. It is not the fault of the actress playing Kim that we couldn't see her as Kim; the writers changed the Kim we knew into a Kim we don't know. All we could notice was the differences. This was really unfair to the young actors, as turning animation into live-action is already opening the project up to criticism and being compared to beloved source material.

I was hoping that Freeform would do more to give Disney Channel stars continuing work (like "Young & Hungry", or what "Baby Daddy" did for Taj Mowry and the little brother from "Kyle XY". 'Girl Meets World" never got that spinoff following characters into adolescence Something that I miss (and think could've helped) are ABCFamily style made-for-TV movies. Sure Lacey Chabert's Hallmark romcoms can be formulaic, but that's also part of what makes them so endearing. And Good Witch's last season did alot for Hallmark in terms of representation.

I think what really helped was Christy’s parents really being present and proactive, which makes all the difference, if you look at which stars made it to the other side relatively unscathed and which ones spiraled. I get the impression, based on what she alluded to about Shia and everything else I heard about him, with his dad being an abusive alcoholic, that Shia was one of those child stars who was expected to be the breadwinner of the family, and that subsequently left him vulnerable to the darker side of Hollywood, not to mention any personal demons that may have festered from his home life. Demi Lovato’s parents *tried*, from what I understand, but Demi also was in a position where they were basically supporting their family, and that, plus these mental health issues that were exacerbated by the intense work schedule and exposure they were under, played a role in creating this mentality of “If I’m working like an adult, I can party like an adult.” They’ve also disclosed some pretty serious traumatic moments that occurred during those years, so I don’t blame them for not looking back fondly. And this is definitely a trend that’s not unique to Disney, if you really dig into it. And I think a lot of others, they see both good and bad, and it seems like something changed once they realized they could make major franchises out of their stars, and I think that didn’t really happen until after Christy had stopped working for Disney as much. Like Miley Cyrus seems to have a lot more gratitude for Hannah Montana, but I totally get where she was coming from trying to distance herself from it, because everyone expected her to be perfect and when she slipped up, she had to apologize, when in reality, it was a part of her figuring herself out, just like any teen should be allowed to do. And I’m sure the Jonas Brothers are grateful for the career boost being associated with Disney gave them, but it’s really a different thing being a musical act and being told you have to act younger than you are and can’t sing about things that are relevant to you, in order to remain “kid friendly.” And I literally saw something recently where media outlets literally spun something Selena Gomez said out of context, where headlines just quoted something about her having “signed her life away to Disney,” so of course everyone assumes she’s ungrateful. But the greater context seemed appreciative of the fun she had, while also comparing it to now with her return to tv and the new role she’s taking on.

@RollingDutchmann no if you look into it both in cartoons and tv shows very few 2 parent house holds and i dont think its fair to say that disney cartoons should be excluded becouse alot of disney films are based off cartoons snow white, 101 dalmations , lion king theres a heck of a lot that have been transfered over id challenge u to list shows that have a mum and dad that arnt devorced becouse theres very few as for walt being a n word thats not true he helped usa win ww1 During the first World War, a 16-year-old Walt Disney left school and attempted to enlist in the army. He was rejected for being underage, but managed to find employment with the Red Cross as an ambulance driver. and by ww2 Between 1941 and 1945, during World War II, Walt Disney was involved in the production of propaganda films for the U.S. government. The widespread familiarity of Disney's productions benefited the U.S. government in producing pro-American war propaganda in an effort to increase support for the war. now think logicaly why would a n.... help americans win a war against germany ? it makes no sense

What I absolutely love about this is how you gave a true and unbiased account of your experience, not trying to sensationalize for views. It is really great to hear that your experience was primarily positive and a safe environment. We (the generation that enjoyed your shows) are coming to a stage where many of us are or will soon become parents and this makes me feel good about sharing past and future Disney content with my kiddos. They are lucky to have you and I would love to watch a show in the future alongside my little one and see you included/providing some fun flavor for parents.

They deserve the negativity, they turned a blind eye to crimes against humanity where they filmed Mulan and then thanked the people who commit the crimes in the credits. It's amazing how you all can just ignore that, but I guess since it doesn't effect you it's cool.

@@JellyBabie1984 Not at all. Some heinous things are never going to be forgotten, but letting it govern us, and bashing all of Disney, for executive decisions only doesn't prove much. It's like talking about the good times I had with my mother doesn't erase the fact that my father was an addict who stole from her, beat her, and abandoned his kids. It happened, and abuse is a very real issue, but that's not all I talk about.

There are still some of the 18 year olds that does all that I mean no you’re wrong there are some 16 and 17 year-old back a long time ago that actually did all that I meant when I was in school my friend yeah she was 15 when she got pregnant she gave birth at 16 and eight, and she still went to school. She held on a part-time job and she didn’t have help from her parents, but she did do all that because my school my high school the time had a daycare for people like her so they can continue to go to school you know and have their kid get out in the daycare while they go to school to help them out so they don’t drop out of school I mean like people criticize stuff like that because they think it’s promoting 10 pranks they know they weren’t protective promoting it and in fact, do you know they try to talk to us about in front of the all the time you know and sex ed and all that stuff but things still happen you know that stuff still happens today I’m not saying it doesn’t you know it does still happen but yeah you know nowadays you do get more older parents but I can’t imagine I’m 37 right now and I chose not to have kids but I’ll be real with you if I had a kid I was up 80 almost 18 or whatever and 76 years old I would feel weird about it to you know honestly it was because I think it’s a weird feeling you know cause specially if you remember your childhood like I was yesterday like Christy Carlson Romano child like it was yesterday so that’s probably why is it weird you know feeling how to get that age because for me too, it would be weird because I could never be in 12 like it was yesterday so bad 12 year old I would feel weird about it too. I would be like I’m too young to be old because you know you think about your child like it was yesterday so that’s why for some people I think it feels weird especially if you remember your childhood like it was yesterday because I know me personally, I feel no different then I when I was 18 because I can remember it like it was yesterday so weird he was feeling the age I’m at now
