I think if Dana Plato was a part of Facts of Life rather being the bridge to it, chances are she would be with us today. Plato just needed a levelheaded adult to be her mentor and guide her on the right path. It seems like the ladies on here would've been the positive influence that she needed.
@nenep18728 ай бұрын
I know and her son would be here too 😥...
@RyLHatch19898 ай бұрын
Really, Diff'rent Strokes barely used her as it was. They were more focused on the relationships between the two brothers and their budding relationship with their adoptive father. She was only in a handful of episodes per season until the final two seasons where they wrote her off as going to school in Paris, and then she would make sporadic appearances until the series finale, which she wasn't in because it was one of those instances where the show is cancelled without a sendoff finale planned. At least the FoL tied up everyone's storylines despite their finale essentially being another spin-off pilot. Jo moves away with her new husband, recent college graduate Natalie moves to New York City to be a writer, Tootie was starting her final year of college, and Blair buys Eastland and turns it co-ed to save it from closing down permanently while becoming the new headmistress/house mother.
@Supremmo8 ай бұрын
@@RyLHatch1989 She was still on a regular which is what I’m saying and she did get some episodes that focused on her, unless you weren’t paying attention. It’s all good. I needed at least one naysayer that was going to throw my comment off course.
@RyLHatch19898 ай бұрын
@@Supremmo I wasn't naysaying anything. I agree with you. Had she moved with Charlotte Rae to the FoL, things might have been different and she could have been given more than what Diff'rent Strokes had to offer her, which wasn't much compared to the other cast members. It is also kinda weird that the one character that bridges the two shows only appeared in the first episode of the spin-off and never shows up again, while the FoL girls appear a couple of times on DS and even Mrs. Garrett went back for a guest spot on DS.

As much as I love the facts of life, the 4 leading ladies disappeared with the exception of Kim Fields who faded into the background after Living Singles, but least she had 2 hit shows. They should have continued with Season 10. One more season would not have killed Mindy Cohn and Nancy Mckeon.
