The Pope can never make a mistake in FAITH and MORALS because the Holy Spirit is in charge. If the Pope gets it wrong, the Holy Spirit will stop him because the Church belongs to Jesus not the Pope. Think of the Pope as the CEO of the Church, but Jesus is the Owner. Yes we the Church are the property of Jesus because He made us.

In those days Pope's had to be warriors. There was no national army or police force. When the Pope needed military help the Swiss Army was hired. That was how the Swiss made money in those days, and that is why there are Swiss Guards at the Vatican, who, incidentally, are all trained soldiers.

Thomas Dubay, concerning obedience as a sign for authentic spiritual growth, p. 239: "The saint [Teresa of Avila] mirrors here nothing other than her Master who made obedience to His Church and its leadership the sign of accepting or rejecting the eternal Father Himself (Luke 10:16). St. Teresa learned this lesson so well that she returns to it in her writings over and over. Obedience is an especially revealing criterion of authenticity for two reasons. On one hand it ruthlessly empties the humble person of egocentrism. Proud, self centered people presume to know better than any superior, even those to whom the Holy Spirit has been given to teach and govern the Church. They are so full of themselves (without of course admitting it) that they could not possibly be filled with God. At the same time obedience leaves little room for rationalizing reality to fit our self will: we either obey this human superior or we do not. The egocentric individual can often bend a written document to make it mean what he wants it to mean, but he doesn't easily slide around the Lord's criterion: he who hears you, hears Me; he who rejects you, rejects Me." I thought St Peter's wife was dead, bcse Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law and nowhere is Peter's wife mentioned. Are we to believe that he married again to "Penelope"?

It's weird how they want A Jewish COUPLE AS JOSEPH AND MARY WHO WOULD NEVER HAD BEEN ACCEPTED in the Catholic church and environment in Europe because THEY WERE POOR PEASANTS considered BENEATH them WANT THEM to be PALE SKINNED and NOT not really married remaining virgins and not as the scriptures say.....
