@@Adam_K14 for fos I’ve been following him since his grime words are weapons days, I always wanted to see him blow as he was very very underground but obviously a new side of him I saw during the rap game and after. @see now I feel you bro but it’s not a lie man, there are guns here. In my city in Scotland there is definitely guns as there have been cases of submachine and hand guns this year along with crossbow murders and machete tortures bear in mind cities in Scotland are tiny population wise. I agree there is not as many guns here as in America for obvious reasons, but there’s probably a bigger proportion of knife murders. Idk about one gun per hood as we don’t call it hoods up here, we call it schemes and I’d say out of the schemes in my city there is probably close to 1 gun per scheme. The thing is tho the schemes here are a lot bigger than the hoods in the US and are a lot less spread out so there isn’t as much warfare like I in the US since (correct me if I’m wrong) the hoods are very tight and densely populated in the US. Places like London are a lot worse gun wise but I can’t speak for them bro

In some ways a one single deal is great so long as the artist blows up off of it... Worse would be if they get tied into a 360 deal for years that they can't break out of (particularly if they make bank, but can't get a larger percentage off it, because of the deal they initially signed...) They can renegotiate a new deal from a position of strength/ or from a stronger position if their single blows up and if it doesn't they can then use the single as a way to shop round for a new deal... It's (Record labels) just like the casinos isn't it.. they always have the decks and the tables loaded in their favor.

Though I'm glad you're shedding light on topics that I've never thought of about the music industry. Always nice to get the UK point of view. Also you are a down to earth person, I don't know you as well as I will in the future but, you've given me a chance to gain experience and think in new ways to produce for more commercial audiences. Agreed with a lot of your points but yeah, the contestants aren't the best talent the UK has to offer obviously which is why just being on TV isn't gonna make them blow and they should know that, it's just a chance at exposure that should be worth it for them cos they don't have much else going on that level. idk about everyone else but I still listen to quite a few of the old contestants and I probably wouldn't have otherwise

My folks checked the new series of this show out yesterday. Most of the rappers started in lockdown? We kept coming back to the fact the prize pot is £20k. That is not much more than a year's wages and yet they're treating it like they're gonna use the money to buy a few houses and a recording studio. No wonder they ain't getting huge talents on, some of those guys make that in 2 verses.
@douglasmichael64803 жыл бұрын
I disagree. I was a fan of D Live and Graft, but's let's be honest they haven't been putting out music consistently since Season 2 ended. Being on the Rap Game doesn't automatically mean you will be a star it gives you the exposure to take your career to the next level. A lot of these youths get on the show and get lazy. It's a constant grind. Write everyday, studio on the weekends. Even look at artists like Chip he's been on for 15 years, and his work rate is still crazy

The same way you’ve made the thumbnail/title the way you have and chosen discus this “controversial” topic to then say the show is good for UK culture 🙄 were all after the views and will tick every box needed to secure them (even yourself). It’s the rat race we’re all in I’m afraid 🤷🏾♂️ even the big big BBC. They are competing with KZbin and Netflix they have to appeal to everyone, better yet it’s a public funded organisation. If they don’t represent the UK they’ll be scrutinised as to why content isn’t reflective of the public. Rap Game UK has improved year on year and S3 has probs the best talent.....team Pocaa over here 🏆🏆🏆
@RIDEMusicYT3 жыл бұрын
100% get what you're saying, in terms of the thumbnail thing that's just playing the KZbin game. It's just got to be done like you say. I guess what I'm saying is it's the claim they're 'looking for the next artist to takeover the UK' that doesn't sit that well with me because as we've seen so far, it's just not true. These artists don't walk out of this show ready to takeover. Is it good for the UK scene? - yeah probably. Is it good for the 6 artists on there? - the stats say no right now... but I want to be proved wrong! The Rap Game gives people a chance to have the spotlight on them this is very hard as a up and coming musician. A majority of the contestants have real talent and there’s no joke characters. This opinion is coming from someone who has no experience in the music business at all. Whether you’re on a reality TV show or an aspiring musician starting in your bedroom there’s only a small amount of people that actually make it in the music business period so this guys point is not really valid. Every single A&R in the world is looking for the next star. They look up and down the country for the next character and personality. The biggest starts in the world are characters. It’s not always about musical talent.
