What model u recommend for a lancer 2014
@FormOverFunction7 жыл бұрын
For a lancer, id recommend the 527, I have a set, it's cracked but that's because the last owner had like -12 camber lots of stretch and a 40 series tire, that's literally abuse for any wheel...I left the tires so I could fit them on my car but I didn't have as much camber.

XXR's were the first aftermarket wheels I bought. I had them for 3 years with no issues. The one bad thing about them aesthetically is the multi bolt pattern design. mine were 4 lug, but the wheels had 8 holes to fit two different bolt patterns.
@FitmentIndustries7 жыл бұрын
I agree. I hate the extra holes :/
@nofaithjusthope87146 жыл бұрын
I hate that too, the wheel would have to be exceptional in all other aspects for me to be remotely interested. Only good good thing would be being able to slap it onto another car if hole pattern and offset works...and the weight savings of a couple oz. haha
@carlyletom3016 жыл бұрын
But that's just alike many other brands. However, not all of XXR wheels have dual bolt patterns. So, I'm sure that many other brands have certain rims with dual patterns.

XXR is a brand name , and were originally made as SportsMax along with Ultralite Wheels in the 1990s, at a factory called Ensure in Taiwan, Ultralite is a UK brand originally famous for Austin Mini wheels and the two brand owners are still in partnership today and still manufacture the brands at the same factories, although Ensure closed many years ago. so its now 6 things you didnt know about XXR brand ;)

I've owned a few sets of XXR wheels. A couple of them were second hand and beat. None of them gave me any problems. The current set I have on my weekend project (mk4 gti) has 35 series tires on it and Ive hit a few unsuspected potholes with no problem. Once, I hit one so hard that my wipers turned on, yet no damage to the wheels. Not only I but have a few friends that ran a XXRs. No problem at all. The only complaints of it failing are from online forums, etc. Never in real life had I heard or seen on fail.

It seems like a lot of people have this idea that they need $400-800 a piece wheels with racing pedigree and every certification on the planet but if you aren't actually putting your wheels through the incredible stress of racing/drifting/autocross/etc and the car is basically just a daily driver or a weekend canyon cruiser, you really don't need to spend a crazy amount of money on wheels. Obviously if you just want to, then have fun, but you really dont need to break the bank on super mega high performance wheels. I've never owned any XXR's but I certainly wouldn't have any reservations about putting some on a daily driver just to make it look a little nicer. Id probably run them without that black and red xxr center cap they use because I think that looks a bit shitty but otherwise they have some great looking designs and a ton of options.

I've always figured XXRs are just like any other cast wheel. They're going to be just as safe as your oem cast wheel. I will say that the one set I ever owned were pretty heavy and you could really feel that extra rotational mass. They look like high end wheels for basically nothing though

Although I prefer authentic wheels; I can't knock anyone who just wants these as some daily wheels. It's their car and their money, not my problem or choice. That said, it's a cheaper option to go OEM+ for wheel choice, especially if you're planning to save up for a higher quality wheel. My main issue with reps is the handful of scene kids who think they stand out from the rest when they have the same wheels as others and/or have no problem dropping serious cash on quality coilovers, or an air kit, quality tires, etc but cheap out on wheels. Yes that actually happens.

Depends on where you put your money. Dropping $1k on wheels alone that may not even have the specs you want kinda blows. I would rather use the money i save invest in some great compound and run the proper sizing i want on a good looking wheel for the upfront price of buying "real" wheels. That is my 2 cents, however i do see where you are coming from and i guess it depends what is more important to you. Moral of the story: make sure to eat your vegetables

Agreed. I’ve seen a “tuner” win the “People’s Popular Vote” at a Toyo Tires Trch day 2 years ago. And the crowd voted for this guy (that won the popular vote) was rocking XXRs. Apparently, people just care about looks, and not quality and fine detail.

Accelerated weather testing is cycling hot to cold weather and dry to wet condition repeated in short period time instead of leaving the wheels outside for 10 years to gather data. This is a fairly simple test for the most part and the data is used to determine thermal fatigue and dimensional variance in the temperature domain as well as testing the finish of the wheel surface.

It's not anyone company that makes wheels that tend to crack it's the process they choose. Squeeze casting is well known in the industry to be more prone to cracking when the wheel gets damaged vs getting bent. I don't know about you but I'd rather have my wheel get bent then crack and crumple under my car. That's horrible and unsafe.
@NJturtlePower6 жыл бұрын
Simple solution....DON'T damage your wheels! I love when I see EXPENSIVE forged wheels chewed to F***, says a LOT about the driver.
@DaDeCodeIsTruth6 жыл бұрын
that's some dumb "logic" bent or cracked, your wheels are done, and in either case a crash or hit hard enough to bend wheels WILL likely damage your suspension and or subframe, especially if you run solid subframe and suspension mounts.

id like to actually see a comparison between how manufacturers make their metal rims vs how aftermarket name brands make their rims and just how much better aftermarket brand name rims that will cost us $2k+ compares to say that oem different rim that you can choose to put on at the Lexus dealership for $2k when you buy a lexus. or are they comparable but people are just misconstrued into believing that aftermarket rims are just that much better. obviously take a look at like anything from a standard lexus wheel to like a corvette or viper rim or gtr rim. supercar rims perhaps can be included but im betting most of those are already forged anyways. i think a video like that would be a perfect fit for your channel (pun intended ;) ).

You are aware that most oem manufactured wheels are made by companies like enkei, bbs, rays, and so on right?

What About team dynamics wheels??

I had XXR 531s (I think) on my FRS when it burned down. I want y'all to know that the front wheels MELTED. Ask me if I had ever seen wheels melt before. No, I hadn't- and haven't since. The rears (far from the heart of the fire) cracked clean off of the barrels just from the heat. Moral of the story: Some things you should just spend the cash on (when possible.) Also, don't burn your car down. That helps most.

For us who dont crash or set their cars aflame. Xxrs come in good specs and dont break unless you break them. good price and replacing 4 xxrs is cheaper than repairing one work miester. I have owned both

Fitment Industries Had the engine built, a direct injector wasn’t clipped in properly and backed out under load. My theory at least.

cortland samford What happened to me can happen to anyone, buddy. It was enough of an eye-opener to keep me from ever buying another set. I don’t want a wheel that’s going to disintegrate in any kind of accident. Other note: They were unreasonably heavy.

That being said, if it’s all you can afford, rock ‘em as long as you need to.
