I just had a Stillen Gen 3 CAI, a Fast Intentions TDX CBE and an EcuTek dyno tune on a Dynojet done on my 2019 370Z 6MT and we got 321 peak rwhp @ 7200 rpm and 264 ft*lb peak torque @ 5200 rpm. We got a pretty uniform 14% to 15% gain in torque across the whole rev range. With a 15% driveline loss I estimate that we picked up about 46 peak hp at the crank, from the stock 332 hp to about 378 hp. The gains are very noticeable and the car sounds very good. Even though I didn't get 400 hp at the crank, I feel good about how the car is running and it's much more fun to drive. I did tell the tuner my priorities in not pushing the engine into the danger zone just to gain a few extra hp at the top end and to still keep it safe if I happen to get a tank of bad gas somewhere.
@07wrxtr1 Жыл бұрын
I have the same except z1 intakes. Did you keep stock cats?
@videomaniac108 Жыл бұрын
@@07wrxtr1 Yes, I did because I live in California where they're required. Actually, since I bought the car new as a 2019 model the car doesn't need to be smogged for the first 8 years, so I could have gotten away with it until 2027. If I had removed the cats I probably would have picked up another 6 to 8 hp. The Z1 intakes impressed me as a good choice and I seriously considered them. Nissan's engineers did such a good job in extracting so much power from the engine that there's not very much that can be done beyond what we've done without going FI. At some point in the future I might go with a 4.3 liter stroker kit and a bump in the compression ratio to 12:1. For now, future mods will center on trying to get the car down a couple of hundred pounds. I have a set of forged magnesium wheels being made for it by a company, Litespeed Racing, in LA. When it comes time for a brake job I'm going to replace the one-piece steel rotors with the Akebono two-piece rotor with the aluminum hat. I've already replaced the anti-roll bars with a set of stiffer Hotchkis bars and am running on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The car is handling very well with these bars and tires.

The Z1 400hp pack uses a ported VQ37VHR upper intake manifold, not the HR intake manifold like some people may think. However, Z1 does offer ported versions of both of the upper intake manifolds that will benefit both motors.

Installation is simple (minus that damn demon bolt) everything else is pretty much Goochi if you have a near by hobby shop, if not buy some Jack stands and DIY, also Z1 does state all that you need to gain 400hp to the crank, everything you just mentioned is under the description before purchase in reference towards necessary parts required gaining the crank power. Also the kit does go on sale at different times of the year namely black friday, I got my kit for $1250 it was a great deal at the time of purchase, my exhaust system wasn't cheap but there where other alternatives as you mentioned. The Z1 CAI were on sale also around the time I bought the package, I believe I paid $350 for those which rivaled there sales with the stillen kit. Stillen products were only slightly more expensive then the Z1 products at time. My tune was $700. Whatever you goal is for your car, you should always plan a budget and stick to the plan. I'm keeping my car N/A the last power performance upgrade I'm getting are the exhaust cams replaced. Then I'll work on my powertrain, upgrade my cooling system and then top it off with wheels and body kit.

I have a 2019 370Z and have to question the value of an aftermarket CAI on this car, as the stock system intakes cold air from the front and ducts it with plastic and rubber conduits to the intake manifold. I can't see the incoming outside air picking up that much heat enroute to the manifold. The stock exhaust is a different story, however, and a less restrictive dual 2.5" dia system with an H or X-pipe crossover would be beneficial.

I think that for an NA build it’s not worth it. But you have to keep in mind if you want to stay NA it’s rly hard to make a lotta power on cheaper parts and there is a limit to what you can do. A lot of ppl on here are saying “for that money just turbo the car” and yeah, I agree. But you gotta build the support for boost. You have to buy an exhaust. You have to get new intakes. You have to run a new fuel system. Auto Trans will suffer from too much torque and power and shred itself. Kinda just abt perspective

You gotta know where to cheap out on, most headers and catbacks are to expensive for little gains you're getting... It matters more on a boosted engine or a engine that's big displacement like a V8. On my 05 g35 sedan 6mt, I put the Megan racing headers and test pipes (under 400$). I switched (cut & welded back) out the muffler and resonator for vibrant performance ones (under 270$). One other power mod I did was the v+ kinetix intake plenum (theoretically a plenum spacer that's just 300$). All of that with a tune just gained 30 whp, stock the vqde 2005-2006 makes 240 whp mine now makes 272 whp lol doesn't matter though once but I get my house soon I'm going ls 500whp all motor

I’m on this guys side but if u do not install your own parts you shouldn’t be building a car and last but not least it is not worth it for that package

In the end of the day who cares right? It your car and there only two way to get out practicality or dropping your money Hahahaha well it’s up to the folks right who own they car BUT being honest with this video that means priceless here bro the way I subscribed here is worth it every time I watched worth it.. plan to own someday to have one pure Q and this is the big heads up for me as well not to lazy searching things worth it in practical price and worth it to the car to be install. Now my questioned is how’s your GTR wheels now?

That's ridiculous ppl. If you have the money then spend the ~7k boosing it. 400hp are you serious lol. It'll be more like 600-700hp. 💪

I’d rather get isr long tube headers which kill 2 birds with one stone. And are much more cheaper

If you mechanic savy you can put the parts on yourself
