lying to make too much hype will eventually lead to too much desparation and sadness, even quitting tech as a career for so many people. sadly that is the case for many youtube channel, and even online courses.

I agree with you. Learning a programming language is never easy to begin with. I see people claiming to early 6-figure plus after doing a 6-9 months programming classes. If that's the case, why would anyone wants to attend a university? Even with my technical background, coding a program is still hard for me.

Thank you for putting this reality check out there. I agree with you 100%. We're now in a dev hype and there's a lot of exaggerated expectations.

Hey, Gwen I think you really hit the issue that the massive marketing of coding schools with outright wrong promises brings to this world. I am pretty sure that any student who starts coding just because of the 6 figure income will fail. For me coding has always been like solving puzzles and I love challenging puzzles. Now I do run a programming School and I am a bit concerned that beeing to honest with students is bad for the business but beeing too optimistic about the success chances or your students is really bad for your reputation as a School in the long run.

God bless your heart. These coding boot camps have a money back guarantee but I said how about I give you money after I land a job. They said no, so it sounded fishy

@Faraday Academy Hi, can you share any honest reviews about Hack Reactor? Although I find it better learning on my own but sometimes I feel there is a need for a proper structure and accountability to gauge my progress. Thanks!

You can earn your living by coding. But there are coders and engineers. If you don't have an engineering mind, it will be very difficult. In the Russian approach to coding, a lot of mathematics, discrete mathematics, algorithms and mathematical analysis are in the first place. And more fundamental knowledge of low-level assembly languages, etc. This is how engineering thinking is formed. Need to work very hard.
