Apple has Killed Jack. But why? What did Jack ever do to Apple? Why kill a useful member of your team? No matter how useful your team mate is... if he doesn't make money for the business... you have to let him go. And that's what happened to Jack. He worked so hard! He did his job PERFECTLY... but he was not making any money for Apple specifically... so now hes gone. Probably for good.

That's a good trade of. My mom got water in her headphone jack phone twice, first time she dropped it into soup which was thick, got inside anyway.. the second time, it rained a little bit on it.. both times the liquid got in through.. you guessed it.. the biggest hole in the phone, the headphone jack.. I should had just plugged the hole with a piece of plastic the first time when I fixed the phone, which she isn't using anyway like nobody isn't these days. the first time.. the charging port had to be replaced and liquid has eaten a contact, so that was a bitch to make such a very small bridge, but I did it. The second time I couldn't fix the phone because a rain drop fried the ram and processor too

We don't. Jk. I bought the iPhone 7 (matte black) and love it personally. Upgraded from a 5s (that's right I don't upgrade every year). I don't think it necessarily hurts me personally seeing how I always wanted Bluetooth/Wireless earbuds and headphones but never saw the need to enter the market till now. As far as the no charging aux nonsense I guess that sucks whenever I'm in a car with other ppl who don't have Bluetooth but my friends and roommates listen to today's pop and rap music and I listen to rock so no one ever wants to listen to my choices anyways. I'm that guy whose in a car with others and has headphones on listening to Breaking Benjamin while everyone in the car listens to whoever.

I think they'll do it, every stupid idea from apple (micro ano\crappy sim cards, non removable batteries, apps for housewives, no memory expansion) got eventually copied by most of the A-brands. Also, every "innovation" from apple are developed for a shier profit (no memcards so they could sell you additional 32 gb for extra 50$ instead of 5 or 10, they tried to license micro and nano sim cards as well, to make profit from every card of the type, non removable battery so you'll be pushed to buy a new iphone when your battery dies).

The notch is in no way a step forward in display design, it does not even look appealing, yet now even Nokia have done it, they actually sunk as low as that... Planning to buy a new phone. The only brand I'm eyeing is Samsung, no notch, a headphone jack and pretty reliable hardware overall. Would have bought or deeply considered a pixel but Google screwed themselves over by removing the jack. But the apple pull is strong for no reason (yeah I know about marketing but still...) even Samsung is being pulled a bit because they are removing the fingerprint sensor from their tablet for God knows what reason. Steve Jobs got the ball rolling on this cannibalistic version of capitalism. Apple, can and has made products in The US, however, chooses to take the higher profit margins from China, and still charge astronomical prices anyways. So, the idea that you don't include a headphone jack because if profit is totally believable. If from the beginning the claimed the waterproofing angle, at least there is some truth there...

Sony has made phones with the 3.5mm jack and is still waterproof. And Samsung also also done it recently with the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and Note 7. So whoever says they need to remove the headphone jack for waterproofing is BS.

Just switched from samsung to iphone and i honestly havent missed the headphone jack as much as i thought i would. The earpods that apple includes are great, way better than the ones i got with my samsung that has terrible sound quality and would barely stay in my ears at all.

They also kept removable battery on their first ever waterproof phone because they didn't have balls to remove something that like only 0.05% of people cared about... combine that with a cheaply made flexible and detachable back and of course logic should tell you a failure prone waterproof system... which is exactly what happened.
