EXCELLENT RESPONSE! I’m so glad someone else has said this, too. Did any of the complainers take even one moment to consider that perhaps the Lord led this individual to work on this set so he can continually be exposed to the Gospel message? He’s the cameraman so he has to be present through ALL of the scenes where Yeshua (Jesus) is talking about God’s love, the importance of repentance & relationships… he gets to watch the Pharisees plot against Yeshua and spit on those who are not “in the right group.” Isn’t it possible that he might be able to relate to that? How horrible is it if he then gets to experience that same treatment first-hand?! This flag was a symbol for us to PRAY… pray for the creators of the show to be led by the Holy Spirit & walk in wisdom, pray for the cast and crew to be drawn closer to the Father, and pray for God’s Will to be done and His Name glorified!! There are people who would have otherwise NEVER stepped foot in a church or opened a Bible except for this show… maybe even because of this kind of jump-to-conclusions, over-the-top reactions to things. I’ve seen too many posts claiming that The Chosen now endorses sin and nothing could be further from the truth, according to Dallas Jenkins. We have to show the Father that He can trust us with those who just might be on their journey to Him (even if it doesn’t look like it at the moment). We have to trust Him that He is able to melt the hardest of hearts, even if we don’t understand the process. I’m not saying that this individual is definitely coming to the Lord, but it IS a possibility… and what if this big stink just drove him further away? We have to be careful not to allow ourselves to be used as someone else’s stumbling block. We have to remember that the same Blood that was shed for us was shed for him. Pray that his heart will be pierced as he films scenes of Yeshua’s crucifixion. Pray that the love he receives on the set by true Believers will minister to his heart. Pray that he repents and converts and that his conversion would also be used to impact the lives of others in his community. Who knows, maybe the Father is leading him to this place at this time to be the catalyst of a massive redemptive wave in that community?! Pray that those who call on the Name of the Lord DON’T get in the way of any potential work of the Holy Spirit. Just pray!

As a Christian, part of what took me so long to come to Christ was the hate and vitriol that I saw so-called mature Christians spew in the name of the Lord. The Holy Spirit had to tell me to keep my eyes on Him, not them. Many people that I witness to tell me that they will never set foot in another church due to behavior like this. It breaks my heart. We can love people without endorsing worldly behavior.

I so totally agree! Let's keep the focus on Jesus! Our daughter (who used to sing in worship team in our church) identifies as a trans-man. She knows my husband and I disagree with her decisions on this and yet she knows we love her. It is difficult on both sides. We show love to her and her friends (and her spouse while she was married) and yet we don't water down or change our views. We don't go out of our way to insult anyone. She wishes we would bend more in her direction, and we certainly wish (and pray) she would bend more in our direction. But for now we respect and love each other. And to be honest, the thing we want to change (and pray for) is that she follow Jesus. Just changing her lifestyle regarding gender and sexuality is not the answer. Jesus is. So when we focus on someone else's sin and not on Jesus we miss the point. They could stop that behavior and still not know Jesus. Jesus is the message and the answer.

At first it confused me, made me question if I should be watching The Chosen anymore but your explanation and thoughts on it all reminded me that I don't want to be that person in the church that made me stop going because of being part of the Punk scene in the 80s. I heard so many people talking behind my back because of my clothes and hair style and I wanted nothing to do with these people, I figured if this is how Christians really are then I want nothing to do with it. Thank the Lord I found my way back, I still sometimes feel those very judgmental Christians robbed me and if I was just excepted at 14 years old maybe I would not have gone down the wrong road. I have to remind myself that God's plan for my life is just that, his plan, his timing. Dallas Jenkins and others are Christians within a secular industry (the entertainment Industry) just like I work in two secular industries while also in ministry. (Kroger and Amazon) Just because we work with people who aren’t believers it doesn’t mean our message is tainted. The same goes for The Chosen employees. I've been reading many comments on the official group and the other one, seeing the reactions everywhere, and this is my conclusion. We, as fans of the show, need to UNDERSTAND that while The Chosen is a show about Jesus, it's still not a church. It is not a ministry neither. It's a show, and as any other show, it operates as a company. Companies hire their employees according to their abilities and experience, not according to their faith or lack thereof. Companies can't ban people for their race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. Doing so might bring upon them a lawsuit, because that's straight out discrimination. The Chosen is not foreign to these principles. So it shouldn't come as surprise for us that some of the people involved in the project are not Christians. And it shouldn't matter neither, because they don't have a part in the creative process. They only do their job, whatever it is. We can't be concerned because some cameraguy has a prideflag in his workspace, a space we barely get to see, that doesn't belong to the scenes, and that will never appear on screen. Probably the guy didn't even intend it to appear on camera for everyone to see. I'll repeated it, *these people are not part of the creative process.* Their only job is to help get the story to us, a story that was developed by an Evangelical Christian who holds our same beliefs. We can't expect that everyone involved in the project is a Christian like us. That's just impossible. We have to accept that many people who we don't agree with are part of the filming process, and it is thanks to them that we have the show. The least we could do is pray for them, and thank God for their work. The Chosen is a businnes, like the ones we encounter in our daily lives. We get coffee and food and other services from unrepented people. The taxi driver that takes us home is not Christian. The hairdresser or nail tech we got to might be gay, lesbian, or just supportive of that community. The doctor that check us might be part of the community too. Etc. We don't even bat an eye at these people. Then, why suddenly this specific employee bother us? I just find this reasoning way too hypocritical. If we were to apply these moral standars, we couldn't get anything done and had to do it ourselves. I'm just exhausted of this whole controversy. I do really hope people can understand that the actors and the disciples are not the same people. The fact they have the role of a Christian, it doesn't mean they hold the same beliefs. Feeling betrayed for the things they've said is honestly ridiculous. We should know better.

Totally agree. And I could add that the backstage is not something that they owe us. As I'm not required to show to my customers what I do in my office, they are not required to show us what they do during their job. It's a gentle sharing. If we lived in 2011, no one of us would have an Instagram account and we would barely aware of their private opinions. What matters is the content. And I'm Catholic, so I don't totally agree with the point of view of Dallas, but hey it's ok, I'm aware of this and it's totally OK.

I am a Christian and I actually don't support LGBTQ, but I still respect and pray for them as people because I have friends and family members who are part of the community. As what Jesus said in a parable, they are the 1 sheep, and those who believe are the 99. He will never give up on them and so are we. If there's an LGBTQ cast or staff, I will respect them. It's the content of the show(the life of Jesus and the people surrounding him) that I love and will continue supporting them. God Bless all. :)

@@binmyrtmind I've worked with gay people and gay couples most of my working life. No bubble for me, all religions and races and sexual orientation. Never has anyone cared as much until now. They are people, they go to church, some are together longer than my straight married friends. Not all care about the things some gay people want but they support them. They aren't "them". They love, laugh, have children, adopt, do charity work, love God and if you can't understand because you aren't them, try to be understanding. They aren't robbing a bank. We can't be "sin" police with beams in our own eye or a sin that isn't breaking a law unless they work for a religious organization with something in the contract.

I believe that God gave us a peek at what is going on behind the scenes. There is no other answer for how that flag was overlooked in the video. God does not want us to worship or idolize The Chosen series, the staff, the actors, or start wearing idolatry for it on our bodies, etc. We must pray for discernment. I’d like to offer this. The Passion of the Christ was the most beautiful evangelical film with many vocations coming from it. While on set, everyone stayed free of mortal sin and had the daily Latin Mass to fight the demonic attacks that were occurring. The devil hates what the Chosen is doing. They are now getting into the Persecution of Christ. I would question why a man would bring a pride flag and display it while filming the life of Christ. You must be on guard while doing this kind of ministry. Our enemy prowls about seeking the ruin of souls. You can not give the devil a foothold… look what he did… millions are now questioning a beautiful work because they let their guard down. All they had to do is not allow any propaganda or political representations on set. Be vigilant. And the damage has been widespread. It’s not the public that is at fault.

Lastly, historically speaking….Paul was ministering to ancient Jews, Greeks, and Romans in a culture where there were a lot more than just a flag….Paul didn’t spend all of his time leaving commentary on every little thing that was a wordly symbol. He stated God’s standard and then worked to help the Church keep that standard as an example to the world…That is how you leave influence…not with angry social media comments….

Something I like about The Chosen, is it seems, regardless of any differences they have with religion or whatever, they all seem to get along well, and have fun together. And Dallas seems to be kind to all of them, and doesn't judge any of them. They all seem to like him as well. Also, maybe the cast members said some things they shouldn't have in regards to the situation with the pride flag, but they were probably just annoyed that everyone was dwelling on it. I agree with you on most points. However, this is a FAN FUNDED project. These funds pay salaries. If a person worked for ANY company, and that employee began insulting clients/customers, they would be chastised or fired. It's counter productive at least. Dallas instead made a statement DEFENDING HIS DISMISSIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE PAYING VIEWERS. If you read comments, the folks most disappointed with Dalles and his rude actors said, "I have been funding this project..........." That's an issue that had nothing to do with the beliefs system's of the actors. But they are payed by the people that they are insulting. And, btw, this gig will go far in years on their resume.

Exactly. People are saying that the donors shouldn’t stop funding or supporting the show, but it’s their money that they earn, and they have every right to take their business elsewhere. That’s how it works with any business. If customers are unhappy with the product or in this case how their treated, they don’t do business with the company again.

This passage has always confused me because me and so many of my friends struggle with lust and addiction. The enemy has used to shame me and I've listened to it at times to isolate myself. It still confuses me to this day. I need prayer that the Spirit would open my eyes to the true meaning of it. Because if I'm not allowed to meet with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, then hardly anyone I know can. He's still trying to use it against me now.

This is a “Christian” program. Yes there may be gay folks working on the set. There should be policies that prohibit any tags, clothing, signs, etc… that could distract from the core values of the Bible and that includes sexual sin.

I agree with you about feeling betrayed. I thought TC was a hope for the future in the fight against evil. TC was a Safe place from the nastiness of the world, but this opened a foothold for Satan to destroy. It would be wise if Dallas would remind all of the people of the show to be sensitive to the funding/crowds of fans by not sharing ANYTHING political.

Very well said! And while I love Brandon and Vanessa’s take on things (usually), this time I’m going to have to take a “wait & see” approach. Most companies are going with the DEI & ESG model and with TC becoming a “for profit” adventure, this model may have to be employed. I am not against hiring anyone (worked in HR for years and followed the EEOC guidelines), a company cannot discriminate, but we do not have to know everyone’s social, political or sexual preference! This flag was imo purposefully placed as a middle finger to the Christian base of TC. The way Dallas “handled” things imo was to say idc what you all think! I’m going to do things my way! There will be no correction to the staff or actors for their disrespect to us, but we the supporters (prayerful, financial and consumer) got the dirty end of that stick. So….for a few years I purposely stayed away from bts of TC to avoid things just like this. I knew a lot of them were not christian and didn’t want to know what they believed or stood for. The more popular it became the harder to stay away from it. The noise has become too much. I love the message behind TC, but I’ve decided that it’s now just entertainment. It’s not biblical, it “Bible lite” and while it does (maybe) lead people to Jesus, get folks into their Bible, all work(s) will be tested in the end to see how they withstand the judgement of God. I do think that DJ will have to ultimately answer to God for how he decides to run things. He started out trusting God after a major downfall & will have to decide if he will stick with the God that brought him through that or Hollywood. He can’t have it both ways (I’m doing this for God or this is not a ministry/church setting). Which is it? If it’s for God, it’s a ministry. If it’s entertainment, it’s not Gods project. I hope I haven’t offended anyone, certainly not my intention. The flag that’s been there over a year on some equipment 🤷🏻‍♀️ ok! So why now was it shown in a clip right before “pride” month? At a time where this lifestyle is being prominently shoved into every aspect of our lives! It was done on purpose! God opened a door for DJ to do the right thing & taking a stand. He chose the side of the line he believed in. I’ll be in prayer for all of them but I expect another “shoe to drop” soon. God bless and God speed.

It didn't bother me cause I looked at it as it is still a workplace and an open workplace is easier to maintain than a restricted one as there are state and federal laws that come into play. I understand people's concerns as Dallas has shown how much goes into planing sets and promotions and it is an interesting coincidence that this did happen at this time of the year. Some fans probably see it as an subtle way to show support - if people get upset, you can always say "whoops". So I think that is why so many are dismayed. I like your your response and it is biblical. I'm with you but I believe the problem that people are not really stating clearly is that someone on the show approved this promo at some upper level and they don't feel that they just over looked the flag. The shot didn't have to be used in the promo. I think that is what people are upset about.

I agree we should not be hateful to people. At the same time the word "Love" has many definitions: including discipline, dependability, self-effacement, and long-suffering. It is not just an emotion. How we behave toward others is important. We are not to be proud. We are to be humble and keep ourselves in balance. Is it judgement or gentle correction in order to care for them? You are right. It is about salvation!

Brandon, I'm so glad to hear what you had to say on the subject. I learned much from what you said. We do need to look at this through the eyes of the Gospel and the last day prophecies. I’m retired so I have nothing much to do except study because I have a deep thirst for knowledge and I am pushing 70 real fast so my favorite book to study is the Bible. I get so excited when a verse gets peeled back like an onion and things become crystal clear and I just can’t help myself to share it with others. It also helps me see what is going on in the world with much greater clarity as if God Himself is pulling back the curtain-and this gift is available to anyone who will seek God and find Him with all their heart! So I have noticed a common denominator in all these corporate “woke” campaigns and I see that because of the way Federal Labor Laws are in place, it forces companies to hire qualified people regardless of whether those people have the same religious or political beliefs or the same morality-and the employers are NOT ALLOWED to dictate what their employees wear, or what they decorate their work area with. If they do, they open themselves up to government sanctions and lawsuits. Every one of these companies were VICTIMS of their own employees behind the 1. Ad campaign, (Anheuser-Busch) 2. Marketing campaign, (Target) 3. Human Resources statement (Chik-Fil-A) and 4. Employee expression (The Chosen) that caused these companies to be boycotted by their core consumers. Whether on purpose or unintentionally, it seems no coincidence that it came about before or at the start of Gay Pride Month-so I consider these companies as targeted victims of the hatred of this community of people who hate those who vote Republican and Christians. Just as the Alphabet community has targeted Christian businesses in the wedding industry, now I believe they have set their sights on Christian businesses and businesses that appeal to Christians in the corporate world. And I also have to question why the black community is not up in arms over the LGBTQ+ community appropriating the month of Juneteenth? Doesn’t it take much away from focusing on the history behind Juneteenth? There is something very fishy about all of this. We need to pray for these businesses that God will bind Satan that he may not allow these attacks on these businesses, and that we should also pray that these people will see the love of God in us and be more receptive to hearing the Gospel and learning more about the Jesus we know and love, and that they will have life-changing experiences of salvation to the greater glory of God. The reason people hate us is that we don't live out that love of God for them to see. We're too busy governing each other on how "Christian" we are, and how sinful people are.

Well said. My opinion is that if there are atheist, non Christians, etc working on the set of the Chosen then so be it. What better place for them to be. It is a possibility that they would never enter a church or come to my house for bible study, but they are working day after day on the set of a "television show" about the life of Jesus Christ. Wow, they are getting the best bible study ever..... everyday..... Christ died for me, you, them, all of us, and He is working to save me, you, them, all of us everyday in His own way.

Its not about love for or judging our lgbtq neighbor but rather turning a blind eye to the obvious issue which is that Dallas, who is supposed to be a brother in the Lord, is creating smokescreens around the issue of his allowing this exposure to the pride flag and what it symbolizes. It is a compromise and seems mercenary at this point. Someone also mentioned that Solomon who built the temple later on embraced all of the pagan tradition and idolatry from the surrounding nations. A lesson to be learnt of there is one.

I don`t support LGBTQ, I don`t support abortion, I`m a Catholic Christian and support God´s model of a traditional family, being a christian is not about hating people who don´t follow your own beliefs, on the contrary. I am heterosexual and I have gay friends, even christian gay friends who serve the Lord way better than I do, in the end we all are sinners, broken, the only real holy man who has walked on earth and on water is Jesus. This is not about hating gays, politicians, racists, even people who harm us! God is love, let`s respect our brothers and sisters no matter what, let`s follow Jesus, be obedient to his Word and let`s treat everybody better no matter their beliefs.
